If you take iron bisglycinate you will not experience black stools or any stomach upset, its a more readily absorbed type of iron... -
Worst Cough Ever
NeedaBreak4Me replied to SoExcited101's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your sore throat/cough could be from the scope that they put down your throat to breathe or it could be acid reflux... i too had a itchy scratchy throat for a few days... if it doesn't pass in a week contact your physician. Are you struggling to breathe? -
You have not gone number 2 in a week and you are wondering why you have gained 5 pounds! ... its 5 pounds of poop! .. try taking a stool softener to get that stuff out of your tummy.... I'm sure once you do, those 5 pounds will be gone.

Low Vitamin B12 and folate can cause bruising. You said you joined curves (gym).. it is also possible that you burst a blood vessel whilst working out. I wouldn't freak out, but call/see your doctor to be sure. Does the bruise hurt? When i was around 3 weeks out i discovered i had a huge bruise that wrapped around my stomach to my back... that freaked me out so bad, but it didn't hurt so i just left it, it went away after a bit.

I love edamame! I stir fry lightly with chilli and garlic.. totally yum I do buy cherry tomatoes and have them with sliced cucumber and philly cheese. I haven't tried curried egg on crackers before, might have to give that a try. I was thinking i would make some Protein balls on the weekend to keep in my drawer at work, i need some more "desk snacks" for when i am busy and haven't prepared anything suitable. Those chickpeas sound great! I usually have them plain, might try them that way, they look yum -
Anytime, i really mean it.... we are here to help... i believe you can do this! Small changes make big differences if you stick to them ????

Also i would like to add.... i would advise that you give yourself a break, stop being so hard on yourself, be kind to yourself, your body, emotional and mental health. Stressing yourself out at this stage is not going to help you, it will only hinder your efforts to lose weight. Start slowly, making small changes to what you are eating, choose healthier options, slowly reduce your portion sizes, focus on eating good clean foods, meat, poultry, salads, veg etc.. stay away from that artifically processed stuff. Go for a 5 minute walk every day, increase it to 10 mins the following week, and keep increasing it until you get into a routine.... This is not a race, there is no finish line, making small changes do add up. Remember your health and well being is more important than that number on the scale. Keep at it, in time it will become easier... you can do this. Just remember not to let yourself fall into the cycle of self blame and depression as you do not want to go back to that place. We are here for you, to support and help you along... if you ever need to talk, feel free to drop us a line...

http://dailyburn.com/life/recipes/healthy-snack-hacks/ Mmmm some of these are good.. i like the frozen yoghurt berries... what a great idea for when you crave something sweet. I probably wouldn't do these recipes in a large volume, but one small serving would help satisfy cravings down the line -

NeedaBreak4Me replied to NeedaBreak4Me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well... give it time, its harder at the beginning whilst your tummy is healing but things really start to improve once things have healed and you are on solids... give it 2-3 months... -
Sorry if this comes across as ignorant or rude, but why do they have you on abilify in the first place? Abilify is an anti-psychotic or used for bipolar... i do not understand why they would prescribe it for depression.... did you have episodes during that time? If not, you might want to speak to your psych about something less "harsh" I know this is also off the topic.. but have you had thorough blood work done? Deficiency in some vitamins/minerals can also cause depression and mood disorders.

@@Katieisin The difference with the band and the sleeve is like chalk and cheese! I don't get any of the issues i had with the band... no pressure, aches, pains, getting stuck, having to avoid certain foods etc. It feels like a normal tummy, only smaller..... Initially as you are healing you do feel stuff, like Water being heavy or if you eat quickly there is a tightness, but once you learn how to manage your sleeve, it feels normal. -
Hard time imagining myself small
NeedaBreak4Me replied to campingdiva's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did that just before i had my surgery, i brought a gorgeous pair of denim jeans, they were so small that i could barely get them past my hips and definitely couldn't zip them up.... now they are so loose that i can take them off without even unzipping them! Its a great visual reminder of how much weight you've lost! .. i recommend everyone do that.. keep one outfit and try it on periodically to see the difference... its a great motivator and reminder of how far you have come. I also brought beautiful dress that is 2 sizes too small... it sort of fits, but i can't move my arms cause its too tight... my goal is to fit into that dress by the end of the year. -

Well it seems to have calmed down now, but i have reduced fat since it started to give my gallbladder a break..... hopefully it doesn't return, if it does, I'll definitely go to the doctor... i don't have any other symptoms other than that gnawing/stabbing pain, and its intermittent, and like a 3 on the pain scale.. here's hoping its nothing -

I think mine is on its way out... i have had like a gnawing/sharp pain in my right side for 2 days, worse after eating.... What kind of symptoms did you guys get when it was "malfunctioning"? -
I think my hormone dump has started...
NeedaBreak4Me replied to theantichick's topic in Rants & Raves
We don't have mio here.... i just looked it up... its just a bunch of preservatives... i personally wouldn't use it. I have a relative similar to that who believes everything they hear in the media and takes it as fact.... frequently i get "advice" based on what they hear. Eg. You can't eat veggies cause they cause cancer or you shouldn't go anywhere by plane because there are hijackers everywhere lol.. stupid stuff like that.... It is entertaining sometimes, but other times i just want to throw their media devices out a window lol -

@@theantichick Probably a good idea to vent here instead of strangling her lol My dietitian actually suggested that we purchase alkaline PH Water prior to wls, she said it'll be a lifesaver once you have surgery.... i bought a couple of bottles and i sure could tell the difference between the alkaline and normal bottled water.... it.made such a difference for the first 2 weeks -

NeedaBreak4Me replied to theantichick's topic in Rants & Raves
That sucks, maybe have a chat to her calmly and explain that while you appreciate her concern and know that it is coming from a good place, that you think you have it under control and if you need advice you will let her know. In regards to the Water thing.. She is actually correct. Water can have a hard surface area, by adding something to it, it makes it "softer" hence easier to get down.... when you are early out, this makes a big difference on how it sits in your stomach... because when it is hard, it can be heavy on your new tummy You can add lemon, water flavoring, cordial, etc to make it easier on your tummy. -
Are you tracking your food on MFP? It really helps keep you on top of things.
