    Amusement park rides ?

Well... i would say no..... we are not allowed to lift heavy weights or do strenuous exercise for 12 weeks due to the risk of ripping apart your staples... so i would assume with high speed, velocity and pressure it would be riskier. Your wounds on the outside have not healed in 2 weeks... and it takes a minimum of 6 weeks to start to heal properly on the inside Wait... i just realised you are a bypass patient... not a sleeve... you have also had your intestines re routed and a pouch created.... that would be even longer!
  5. @@Jobey Nah... its probably one A4 page with three words on it... food..sport ..sex..lol

    First NSV

My most recent NSV...annoying NSV... but an NSV nonetheless... Is i wake up every morning and the legs of my pjs have ridden up to around my knees... my calves now are too thin for my pjs to stay down around my ankes.. this also happens with my comfy lounge wear... im constantly having to pull them back down lol
  8. What happens if someone is a vet AND newbie? I'm sure people look at my profile and say... what does this chick know... she is only 12 weeks out.... But i am an 8 year vet of the band...who successfully maintained for 7 of those years.... but i am also a 12 week newbie of the sleeve.... So technically am i a newbie or a vet? I try give advice based on my experience.... time gives you experience..... but EXPERIENCE also gives you experience. Example.... someone who has had major complications... they have way more experience on that than say someone who is 5 years post op with a straight forward procedure. So i think it generally depends on what part of wls the advice is for.... I would rather advice from someone who has experienced it... than someone who hasn't but has been on their "journey" longer.. Time is not an absolute indicator of wisdom.... i know people who are 10 year "vets" who give advice that is just plain wrong... and haven't been successful. My point is.... it really depends on the topic and level of experience of the person giving the advice.... there is no one correct "answer" that can define what a vet should be.
  9. @@KindaFamiliar I am sure we could go into the finer details of it all and totally gross you out.... we do like to keep you happy in the TMI department
  10. My weight stays the same for the whole week too... and my tummy looks bloated.... as soon as its done... I'll start loosing again and my tummy goes flatter.. so yes... it does happen... I also get this annoying blind pimple on my chin every month the day before...and i get super snappy and mean.. lol.. so in a way thats my indicator its coming.. Stupid hormones!

    Cheated

The difference in pre op surgery is a number of things. The surgeon's protocol Your starting weight How much fat they assume is in your liver Some use it to test compliance Some use it as a kick start But the main reason is to shrink your liver so its not in the way during surgery.. you'll find that lower BMI people are normally the ones who have a more lenient pre op plan...
  13. Hahah @ cat food... i guess you are right... it does sort of look like that lol but if you are buying your pate canned... there is something wrong there lol.. Yes, i would only have it in SMALL quantities... because of the fat/sodium content....
  14. @ Just be careful with the pate... some of it can have lots of sodium and fat... check the labels.... And i wouldn't recommend having it as a whole meal... but more as part of a meal.... like with cheese, sliced deli meats etc The french usually serve it with crusty bread, deli meat, cheeses, dried fruit, quince paste... a gourmet cheese platter type thing. If you want the nutritional value without the fat... you could also cook chicken livers as a meal... i like them personally... but it depends on ones preference
  15. @ Pate is duck/chicken livers that are made into a paste, and they add herbs and spices... its actually really yum... its french and goes really well with cheese.
  16. @@VSGAnn2014 You rule! You just reminded me of something we can have.. Pate!... we can have pate with cheese... pate is around 15g Protein... high in Iron, B12, Vitamin A... i didn't even think of that before i saw your post on cheeses!...
  17. @ I supercharge my lamb mince by adding chickpeas and then serving with a big dollop of greek yoghurt (Mediterranean style).. so yummy I make turkey mince "tacos" wrapped in lettuce - thats my fave right now Also lamb mince with hummus..... link below... super duper Protein rich Link http://www.recipetineats.com/hummus-lamb/
  18. Well anything below 50g will keep you in ketosis if you are avoiding sugars.... maybe try going slightly above that for 3 days and see what happens to your appetite. Semi sliders.... lentil chips, roasted chickpeas, hummus dip with high Protein crackers.. slices of turkey, thinnly sliced salmon.. You understand the importance of your metabolism and how important it is and how long it takes to recover from a damaged one, i think health is the priority here, not weight loss... cause you have done an awesome job!
  19. It will get a little harder once you are on soft/solid foods... but as long as you chew.. eat slowly and take your time.. you should be fine

Mother is thinking about filing a lawsuit

Go to your emergency department.. explain that you have had wls and you are bleeding.. they will do the scope
  21. Some of us are fast healers... I went shopping when i was discharged from hospital! The energy lasted about 2 weeks... then week 3 i was a little tired.. but was still able to do stuff... i took it easy though.. i didn't want to crash and burn.... so even though i could... doesn't mean i should... healing is thr priority

Mother is thinking about filing a lawsuit

I think you need to go see your surgeon.. and DEMAND to be seen, and have a scope done... do not leave until he books you in... if you need to be a annoying and rude so be it.... you should NOT be bleeding rectally... They need to eliminate that it is not serious... it could be nothing... it could be something... but do you want to be patiently sitting around waiting to find out.. what if it is serious? Are you willing to wait till it gets worse to find out. Go to your emergency department and explain... do you have a health department, or a overseeing at body you can complain to regarding lack of treatment? I would not just sit back and wait.. this is your body.. you only have one
  23. I would suggest you really try your best to get your calories up. By having low calories for an extended period of time it will damage your metabolism... and once it is damaged.. as soon as you go above your new RMR you will gain weight... and you already have had the bypass...conversion to other surgeries is limited. I stupidly stayed on lower calories for 7 years.... and in hindsight i wish i had known that you could damage your metabolism doing so.... this is the reason i had to be sleeved... i was maintaining until my band failed... then once i got above 800 cal.. i gained weight quickly.. and thats eating good clean foods and small portions! Now because of the metabolic damage i have to be at 800 for life! Pleased try your best to increase your calories... can you add a healthier Protein rich semi slider food.. just to reach your protein and calorie goals? What are your macros like? Are you having small amounts of complex carbs?... reason being is that you might still be in ketosis if you are limiting your carbs.. which when in ketosis it reduces your appetite.. so that could also be contributing.

    Crackers

Absolutely not... 2 crackers probably has less carbs and sugars than some things we are "allowed" to have... its all about numbers and balance... If i am going to have a carbier meal... i just make sure i offset the rest of my meals to not include them.. and i exercise to compensate for that... it really is that simple... but i don't go crazy either.. i have a small amount to satisfy... and don't make that my whole meal... i make sure i measure it out.. keep it to the allocated ratio of Protein to carbs
  25. NeedaBreak4Me

    Crackers

@chychy 2 whole crackers.... darn, i think you will most definitely fail if you eat them... and i reckon thats at least 20 pounds right there lol hehehe ???? (To the sensitive people out there, Please be advised that this is only a sarcastic joke)
