6weeks post how much should my calorie intake be for?
NeedaBreak4Me replied to lazylyn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@taramarie523 You are absolutely correct! I am living proof! I had the band 6 years ago... got to goal by stupidly eating around 500 calories for all those years. I ended up having complications and had my band removed a year ago... and decided to continue eating clean and healthy... I was living on salad and steamed chicken/fish and low carbs for 12 months and during that time gained a lot back. Turns out i reset my metabolic rate so low... that even at my low calories.. it was way to much for my body. This is why they suggested the sleeve... now i have to have lower calories for life!! Please anyone reading this, losing weight is great... yes... but do not do it by screwing up your metabolism... the weight will come off... just eat and exercise and you will be fine. -
I have a little rant about stupid insensitive people who don't know how to keep their mouth shut. Why do people feel the need to tell you that you are fat... Its like .... what!!! No way! I never knew i was overweight.. i got my stomach cut off because i thought i was thin! I dieted for years because i was bored! I have spent the last month eating like a mouse because i have nothing better to do! I had the sleeve 4 weeks ago... and finally it is starting to show physically.. so i was feeling so good about myself.. until BAM! Some idiot at work felt the need to mention that i was "chubby" and that i am lucky i don't hurt myself. Mind you i am 5'7" and 216 pounds.. and a size 14... i thought i hold my weight really well.... even my surgeon said i don't look what i weigh... I just wanted to punch this guy in the face.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Well.... i have a wonderful update... Its funny how things have a way of sorting itself out. Earlier today i was thinking about my weight loss journey so far... and how all odds are against me regarding my screwed up metabolism and how slow my weight loss is going right now... So i got home and was curious how much i weighed when i had a full days food in my tummy.. just for comparison. So i take out my scale and guess what?? Its broken!!! It absolutely died.... thank god!!!! I think its a blessing on disguise... now i can stop obsessing about thise stupid numbers and focus on me! Not what that psycho stupid scale yells at me in the morning. So i have made a decision... i will not buy a new one... and will only get weighed at my monthly appointment with my clinic! Hallelujah!!!! Peace at last!!

Hey all.... just a question that perhaps some of you have been through. Im really jittery and shakey, on the inside... I got home from work and was fine... had a fish filet (standard portion) for dinner with a tiny bit of tartare sauce (teaspoon) and around 30 min later i am jittery and shakey... it doesn't feel like dumping, i am very hydrated. .. so I'm not sure what this could be... it has me concerned as i feel odd... Obviously if this continues i will go to the doctor... but I'm curious to see if anyone else has had this..

Try taking some prebiotics... stay away from foods that cause gas... check the ingredients of your protein shake... or you could be lactose intolerant

I only buy fresh fish... I'm not a fan of frozen... i didn't put anything on it other than salt n pepper... i did have a teaspoon of tartare sauce... but it has 0.7g of carbs per tablespoon. . So i doubt that was the issue. My plan allows good carbs... but because i am still early out.. I'm trying to get my Protein and nutrients first.. i gotta little tummy now... so i gotta prioritize.. carbs or protein... but since it happened i have allowed myself a small amount of carbs per day... feeling back to normal now... Funny though i am craving chocolate today grrr bloody hormones!! I think TOTM is going to be my difficult time ... but im not going fail.. the chocolate is not entering my shopping cart!! What do you guys do for TOTM chocolate cravings? -
Anyone else set for 4/20 or there abouts?
NeedaBreak4Me replied to Andi07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its soooo hard to be patient... ive been the same weight all week... down to the gram! So frustrating! I would hope it would move a little.. but nup, my stupid scale stays the same.. we are fighting right now... and i don't like my scale one bit!!! I really should put her away.. but i can't! That said... i need to remind myself that the weight does come off in different time frames... and that when i had the band... i didn't lose most of my weight till the 3 month mark onwards.... I still am angry at my scale though hahaha.. no responsibility taken here hahaha -

Yes.. i guess it worried me a little as i never had it before... i had the band for years... so i knew how most weird feelings were like. When i was banded Ive had dumping and dizziness from dehydration, ive had weaknesses from Vitamin deficiency...etc.. but not this... so glad it passed -

If youre very dehydrated like you mentioned, that could definitely be the cause.Thank you for replying... this was the first thing i checked.. i had gone above my daily Water requirement.. and my Protein was also good. My body must have needed some carbs/sugars... cause ive had barely any since surgery 5 weeks ago... i had some today and it got rid of it... i guess i need to be little less strict with the carbs.. my body must need some -

Well i was 5.5mmol AFTER i ate yesterday when i tested my blood glucose.. so it could very well be low blood sugar.. they say it should be higher than that after eating... but that stuff never made sense to me. Ill try your suggestions and see how i feel... now i just have to suck it up and get through my day at work without getting under my desk for a nap lol and it's freezing today here.. brrr.. i hate winter! -
Too little caloric intake causing stall?
NeedaBreak4Me replied to Amylou's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
300-450 IS way too low... trust me.. I was on low calories for years after my band and it completely ruined my metabolism. .. i gained weight even eating veggies once i had it removed. I am sleeved now because of resetting my metabolism. Do not let your calories get too low, your body needs food to function, repair and thrive... limiting calories this low might be okay for the short term, but long term will cause all sorts of issues. Please be careful -

NeedaBreak4Me replied to NeedaBreak4Me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think maybe its because i haven't been having any carbs or sugar, just Protein and Water... Maybe today i might add some good carbs and see if that helps a little... its just such an off feeling... at least with dumping i know what it is... this is just a shakey jitter weakness on the inside...its hard to describe -

@@ButterflySeoul Yes programs vary quite a bit. We did puree once we were discharged from hospital for two weeks... one week soft foods then progressed to solids during the 4th week. We meet with the surgeon every time we progress to the next stage... my next appt is next week. I took your advice and tested by blood... i am 5.5mmol or 100mg after eating... but i never understand those things... is that normal or high? -

Yes, i got cleared for solids at my post op appt... but we are allowed to have fish from when we are on soft foods... And ive had the same fish many times and things way more solid.. eg chicken... No sliming or discomfort.. comfortably satisfied. ... i don't know why though... it almost feels like my blood pressure or blood sugar is low
