I need a Monster Energy drink

I would definitely review your Vitamin intake...... Below is a link to a post for the general recommended daily vitamin intake... please use as a guide, and confirm with your doctor if this is suitable for you. http://BariatricPal.com/index.php?/topic/370003-Recommended-Daily-Vitamin-Intake
  2. Well.... now that i have confirmation that my guess was correct about you being hypothyroid i would NOT suggest that you go through sugery at such a low BMI... I would suggest that you go back to your endocrinologist and get a thorough work up and ask to change your thyroid medication. .. because obviously the current one is no longer working and you are having symptoms. With your non functionality of your thyroid, even wls won't be useful at this stage.... you will only cause further stress on your body.... I would get your endo to check your thryoid, pituitary function, and your cortisol (24hr urine)... once all your testing is done... find another endo for a 2nd opinion and see what they suggest.... your T3 & T4 being high whilst your TSH being low means you still have a thyroid issue, which is not being fixed by your meds. Like i said in my other post... i am 99% sure that med plays havoc with your thyroid.... please please please explore all the avenues before doing something so drastic as wls at your low weight.... you will find once you are on the correct dosage the weight and symptoms will quickly improve.

    I'm at a major stall!

You are only 2 weeks out! It is normal.... your weight will ebb and flow... there is no constant. Just focus on your fluids and Protein and healing right now... You have lost in in 1 week what I've lost in 8!!! Embrace the loss... Celebrate it... be kind to yourself... your body is stressed and in shock... let it do what it needs to do... you will be fine... don't stress yourself out... its early days...
  4. Reason i ask, is that thyroid tests can be sometimes inaccurate if they test for TSH alone... usually doctors use that as the only method to diagnose thyroid issues, when they should be testing for the others mentioned too. I hope everything comes back okay... keep me posted on how you go...
  5. Its very common to feel cold all the time after wls..... i was freezing for months after i had my band. For the OP i do not feel that all the issues are weight related... they sound like classic hypothyroid symptoms... especially when that med is known to affect the thyroid hormones. What were you tested for? T3, T4, reverse T3, reverse T4 and TSH, thyroid antibodies?
  6. Have you had your thyroid checked? Adrenals? Blood work? Vitamins? How many calories do you consume day? I would go get your thyroid checked... weight gain, mental fog, lethargy and feeling cold are classic symptoms I don't know why, but for some reason that medication i remember has an effect on thyroid.. i will try and remember where from though
  7. Its funny how that happens.... i went grocery shopping today and could barely think of what to buy.. almost everything was turning me off..... I am hoping this resolves itself soon, otherwise i feel i could fall into the habit of grazing...
  8. But, the animals are so tasty!!!!! .... (only joking, couldn't help myself) I'm going through a "i like it today, but it grosses me out tomorrow" phase right now. I am finding i can have only 1 type of food per meal... eg... if i have chicken for lunch. . I can't have it two days in a row.. and its not just meat.. its all foods... very annoying. . I hope it passes

    Single and Looking!

Actually... i think that okcpirate answered your question... your title was "single and looking" so he answered where to look for singles... and the pros and cons of each. There was not enough information on your post for anyone to give you a specific answers... no need to get upset at the people who made an effort to reply to your vague post. Regardless... wishing you the best of luck in your search for whatever it is you are looking for ????
  10. @@CharlotteKat You losing 183lbs does not give you the right to be cruel and mean... you really need to stop bullying and putting people down @@Alex Brecher .. can something be done about this member.. they have been bullying, harassing and putting people down for days now. They have been literally following members on multiple posts and putting them down telling them they are going to fail. This behavior is unacceptable on a weight loss forum.
  11. @@CharlotteKat Please stop forcing your opinions on other people and giving criticism because they choose to do what they want to do. They have the right to choose how they want to live their life and just because a "journal" says its helpful... doesn't necessarily mean it is "helpful" for that particular person. People have a range of issues.. and it's not about falling apart when you see the numbers or lack of maturity. For example, ill use my own experience... i was heavy, lost weight, got to goal, maintained for 6 years.. and yes.. during maintenance i did weigh myself frequently.. and that worked for me at that time, so i don't disagree it is helpful when you are in the right headspace. Fast forward.. i had complications with my band and reset my basal metabolic rate.. so had to be sleeved so i can stay in the lower range calories. So, i continued weighing like i did prior.. and it was stressing me out, i was putting too much pressure on myself and without realising i became too focused on the number, instead of celebrating wins like i had done during my first time. I have 8 years of wls experience under my belt... and i know all about fluctuations, changes, Water weight you name it i have been through it. But sometimes we can not change the "mental" side of things.... so if a person who is experienced can go through those struggles... what about a newbie who hasn't. .. I think each person needs to figure out whats right for them... if weighing everyday works... great... if weighing weekly works... great... if weighing monthly works... great..... Losing is losing... regardless... its not a race... its lifestyle change
  12. Why does it matter, its a personal choice... There is no right or wrong way... It seems that there are 3 types of people post surgery... Type 1... who don't care about the numbers too much..but weigh weekly or monthly.. but don't obsess about changes or need to weigh to monitor changes. Type 2... who weigh every day to keep themselves on track (this turned into obsession for me, and with my already damaged ego, i decided to back off to save my sanity) Type 3... the follow up appt weigher.. who will weigh when they go into their surgeon's office. Regardless of what type someone is.... what works for one person.. might not work for another.... for example... if someone has an addictive nature... i would not recommend type 2.. as like it was for me.. can turn into an obsession. I was type 2... but changed to type 1 because i was driving myselg crazy and stressing myself out. It really depends on the person and what works for them... lifestyle and personality types can also play a role too.

    "Sugar Free"

My doctor said liquid for 2 weeks allows more healing time preventing leaks which equals better results. What's 2 weeks in the grand scheme of things? Sent from my SM-T567V using the BariatricPal App Yes you are absolutely right... its a small percentage of your life.... but 7 weeks. . I would be pretty grumpy about it lol
  14. After 2 band replacements and port replacements and the sleeve surgery.... i had said to my surgeon that he has seen me naked MORE than he has seen me dressed lol

Stop the negativity! Post something that makes you giggle.

    For the ladies....
  21. When i had my band removed i had pain near my port and a phantom band for approximately 3 weeks... and during the following weeks every now and then i would get a dull ache near the port...or if i twisted the wrong way..... would say it was a full 6 weeks till it completely felt 100% normal. If it is making you worried, and something doesn't feel right.. contact your surgeon and insist they look into it

    TOUGH DAY!

Oh honey *big hug*, that is terrible you were treated like that... it's not a nice feeling when people take it upon themselves to control the way you eat, even when its supposedly coming from a good place. I would sit your hubby down and calmly explain that it was embarrassing and very uncalled for to be treated like that and you are a grown adult who knows what is required to eat and what portions. I'm really sorry you had to go through that
