    Pms?

My cycle is always 28 days and on time... after surgery it was 2 weeks late.... and then 6 weeks late.... surgery can mess with your cycle and so can weight loss. I would give it a couple of months to level itself out ... if it doesn't then get checked out????

    Single and Looking!

@@Oak Park Lorena I don't think the reply that @@OKCPirate pirate wasn't being rude or mean at all.... he basically replying to her "question", "quote" whatever you want to call it, he was offering advice... and HE was called out on it abruptly.... so it goes both ways.... there was no need to be rude to him for offering friendly advice.... he was only trying to help The original post said: "I'm looking for singles, around my age, local-ish and, preferably, with no children" So, it would be easy to assume that they are looking for singles....

I really am full of sh*t

Hahaha i love this post. I actually did do an experiment to see the difference between being full and the difference it makes. Who would have thought poop weighs so much lol I now weigh after i have my morning poop... i wanna make sure there isn't anything extra weighing me down hahaha

    People and their big mouths

Wow.... thank you everyone.... i just woke up and read your messages...... what a beautiful bunch of people you are! I think many of you are correct about wasting the lamb and using the wrong end..... can i use the potatoes instead?? Lol I have decided to try not let it affect me... but it saddens me that someone who is meant to be your own flesh and blood could be so judgemental... but i guess they are still people too... just because they are family doesn't make them any different. Its strange though, i wonder what kind of vibe i am giving off to allow people to comment so easily... if anyone saw my other post about the dude from work.... this is now the second time this has happened in 8 weeks... so i think i need to review what i am allowing people to get away with...... but i am proud that this time i was able to say something and not freeze up in shock. It's funny cause i do not see a size 14 (i think thats a US 10) as really big, especially for someone who is tall.... so now i am doubting myself thinking am i really bigger than what i am.... i am now wondering if i am in denial about my actual size...... Argh... damn these stupid thoughts.... i need a self doubt exorcism!!!!!!

    People and their big mouths

Thanks everyone for your support... that family member is usually a jerk.. so i don't have high expectations from them... but secretly it has actually cut me deep... But i guess i need to remind myself that its their ignorance that they expect me to go from obese to healthy in a couple of weeks. What makes me so sensitive to it is that i really did try after i had my band not to regain, and this surgery was a last resort.. so to have someone mock that, hurt that little bit extra... grrrr Perhaps i should have shoved the sunday family roast lamb in their mouth to shut them up! Hahaha

    People and their big mouths

@@KindaFamiliar Thanks hun, its easier when i stranger does it... but when your own family members do it... it hurts so much more... Mind you, this comment came from someone who is morbidly obese themselves,... so if anything they should understand!
  9. @@sharonintx Absolutely, everyone makes their personal choices on their lifestyle... each to their own.... someone elses choices will in no way affect me.... and if one chooses to make bad choices the only person affected is that person. Each person needs to fit wls into their lifestyle. . What works for one, may not work for another. We are joking about the "hot topics" that always cause debate in this forum, not necessarily the issues themselves ☺
  10. Naaaa, you are fine. Unless she changes it to, "The Crazy Pizza Lady Who Uses A Straw". That would do it . Can we change it to "crazy lady who eats pizza and drinks SODA with a straw" .... now that would be interesting!! Hahahhaha i can hear the WLS gods gasping in horror from here lolOk, so the consensus seems to be "That crazy lady who eats pizza and drinks beer with a straw when she's smoking pot" would be ok? Just checking.I think thats good... but we forgot to add whether they are a teller or non teller..
  11. I am a weirdo.. every time they measure my height i am either 5'7 or 5'8 ... i am currently 8 weeks post op from the sleeve, but i had the band for years prior... so i have gotten to goal in the past ... I haven't weighed myself in a while, but i was last 209, but buildwise.... a size 14 (Australian) is loose fitting on me... i think in around 11lbs i should be able to squeeze into a 12. Yay me!
  12. You have a very similar build to me.... i am quite muscular underneath all my fat.... if i go below 154 i look anorexic.... even when i was 176 i was still tiny... compared to others at the same weight... when i was 176 my friends and family were telling me i was getting too thin... so i think it depends on build, muscle and height..... how tall are you? So it seems goals are very similar.... and congratulations on how far you have come so far... i can only imagine how awesome you will be once you have your surgery.

    Partner's opinions on loose skin?

I think majority of the time we are our worst critics... i don't think people really notice our imperfections as much as we do. We can have a very distorted vision of ourselves and the pressure of having to conform to a certain type of body is very evident everywhere we look. Your partner will love you for you... regardless of wrinkes, saggy boobs, hanging back fat or other things. If a partner does not... then the relationship might be worth reviewing ???? how i think i look vs how others see me

    Heartburn & Sore Throat... ouch!

I've been great.... everything is back to how i was pre surgery... I've had catch ups with friends, full day outings, I've attended dinner parties... and no one can tell I've had WLS... they all have commented on how good i am looking and my story of eating high Protein and low carb is believable... so I've been able to be treated normally too. How are you feeling now? Hows your recovery?
  15. Hey all... I am having this crazy weird feeling in my throat... its like a scratchy burning feeling, but also feels like a sore throat.. a little mucus.. but not a cold or anything like that. Im thinking its reflux or heartburn, but i am taking a PPI. . 20mg Pariet and do not have any other symptoms. Have any of you gone through this whilst on a PPI. .. i am 7 weeks out and had no issues otherwise. Drinking and eating seems to relieve it temporarily... but as soon as i stop... it comes back
  16. Naaaa, you are fine. Unless she changes it to, "The Crazy Pizza Lady Who Uses A Straw". That would do it . Can we change it to "crazy lady who eats pizza and drinks SODA with a straw" .... now that would be interesting!! Hahahhaha i can hear the WLS gods gasping in horror from here lol

    Heartburn & Sore Throat... ouch!

Okay.... so its been 2 weeks that I've had this issue now. I eliminated all spices and herbs from my diet, stuck to poached poultry and steamed foods... stayed away from pretty much everything with no improvement. I did notice that it seemed to get worse a couple of hours after taking my PPI. Which i though was odd. So, I spoke with the surgeon, he said to double my dose to 40mg.. 20mg on the morning and 20mg in the evening. So i tried it 3 days go... and omg i had the worst heartburn and regurgitation... and could barely sleep. So. The last 2 days i haven't taken my PPI at all..... and guess what... gone... completely gone.... the ppi is what is causing the issues i think. I'm giving it a few days before i confirm that its not just a honeymoon period of feeling better. ... but I'm pretty sure thats it.

    So That Was Embarrassing!

Oh its hilarious now.... but at the time... not so much.. lol Sent from my SM-G925I using the BariatricPal App
  19. I would be careful with the coconut Water though.... the sugars are quite high in some. Try to cut down on the fruit, the sugar in them will also not help... maybe cucumbers or another high water content might be a better choice. Perhaps buy an electrolyte mix and have a glass everday.. try having some foods with a high water content... stay away from caffeine and foods that pull water from your system. Also, wear a hat and cover up... Thats the best advice an Australian who is used to high heats can give so far ☺

    So That Was Embarrassing!

Aww this guy sounds like a sweetheart... definitely major brownie points to him for being so caring and supportive. I know what you mean about feeling embarrassed.. but there is no need to be... he obviously didn't care and was nice about it... if you guys do end up together... at least you have a great story to tell.... A night full of vomiting, tooth brushing and shooting children hehhee I remember like 10 years ago my doctor prescribed xenical for weight loss... which makes you poop fatty orange stools.... I was out on a date and i had a major poop leak.... i was wearing cream colored pants... so yes... i had to walk around and be driven home with an orange colored poop stain on my butt!! I remember wanting the floor to swallow me in lol Unbelievably, even after that episode he still wanted to date me... it didn't work out.... but that is one of my dating horrors i still laugh about
  21. Thank you for the compliment, i try my best to be objective. And i completely agree with you, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and this is exactly what forums are for. And i even agree with charlottekat to an extent in regards to weighing yourself frequently if you are in the right headspace. However, personally attacking another member is not okay, putting people down and bullying them and basically being disrespectful to them because they do not agree with you is not the way it should be. The actual person or their habits, looks, bmi etc shouldn't be part of the equation. This is what i have an issue with, not the differences of opinion... everyone is entitled and has a different opinion... people shouldn't get mean in a personal way just because another doesn't agree. As they say... people should just agree to disagree ????

    Hungry feeling all the time!

Since you are on a PPI, contact your doctor to review your dosage... as you have had GERD for 8 years... i don't think the standard dosing would be enough. .. its sounds like an acid problem to me.
  23. I think the 30 min wait is what bugs me the most. As an overthinker and analyser type person i always think of scenarios which this would be an issue. . Eg choking, ultrasounds where you have to drink lots of Water, high tea, etc I contacted my surgeon and they said if i need to have a small amount of liquid during a meal for a REASON its okay... just not to make a habit of it. What i do now is have a schedule... i eat.. check the time... then decide on the time of my next meal.. and then i drink as often as i can during that allocated time. Eg. Breakfast. . 8am lunch ........11.30am I can drink from 8.30am-11am This way i know i am getting all my fluids in... and not being caught out unexpectedly too close to my meal... the schedule works for me.
  24. I have only had a couple of throwing up episodes since I've been sleeved. 1st... i hadn't eaten for hours because i was in back to back meetings... so when i finally ate i ate way too fast and i puked. (This was week 3 or 4 i think... so pretty early out) 2nd was when i was out at a festival and there wasn't many "non junk" items to choose from so i chose to have a sausage, no bread, just the sausage... it got "stuck" for ages and was causing me pain... i slimed really bad and it came out when i didn't expect it to... i think because it was processed, my body just decided hell no! Lol.. that was at 6 weeks. Other than that... if you chew your food, eat slowly... you won't have any issues. But... its nothing like the "stuck" you feel with the band... the "omg i can't breath with this 2 tonne brick feeling on my chest and i feel like i am going to regurgitate into my mouth" feeling... with the sleeve, its a slightly stuck feeling like... a lump in your throat/chest... when you get it... you will know it... but i wouldn't say its as painful as the band.

    6.6 years with band.....

I don't think its always about failure to comply with the band. Sometimes the band forces you to make bad choices because you NEED to eat something that isn't going to get stuck. I, like you had the band for years and i loved it, it worked for me, i got to goal, no loose skin, i was the "poster child" for the band. I started getting complications with it, and regardless of the maintenance i kept with it...fills and unfills... it was still failing me... even Water would get stuck... it got to the point that sometimes i would need to have a slider or cheat my band just to eat something so i wouldn't collapse.. but i was at goal by the time this happened So, in my case my band failed me... i had it removed and because of eating so little for so long, i reset my RMR.. so i had to do the sleeve to be able to stay on lower calories. But, on the other side, there are many that do abuse their band. I had a friend who was banded 1 month before me.. and she would eat macdonalds, kfc and all sorts of junk.... she complained that she wasn't losing weight.... she had lost only 8kg.. when i had lost 40kg during the same timeframe. So it really is a tool... and you do reap what you sow. ...
