Thank you! I honestly wasn't fishing just wanting to show that I'm not a waif. And now today I am bout 13lbs heavier than that pic (which was actually taken 1.5 weeks post plastics so there is a bit of Water retention in them still).I know you weren't fishing ???? But i like to recognize hard work... Its interesting how different everyone can look.... being the same weight... I think you look very healthy and toned, and don't worry about the little weight gain... you have room for movement ????

Yeah... men have no clue... actually not many people have ever guessed my weight because i look smaller than what i weigh..... the only people who know is the people on this board hahaha I think that we need to be mindful of what is healthy and what we PERCEIVE as healthy... there is a fine line between wanting to be on the lower end of the scale and having a potential eating disorder. Not saying that everyone who wants to be very slim has one, but it can easily manifest into one. Especially when you lose weight quickly, the brain takes a while to realise how slim you really are. I lost count of the amount of times i picked up clothes that were 2 sizes to big, thinking they won't fit. ... even when everyone was saying i was tiny, i truly didn't see it until i was around 1 year into maintaining past goal.

I think it also depends on the build of the person i am 5'7 and have a muscular build.... i look sick, gaunt and just unhealthy if i go below 154. BMI is not an absolute.... there are too many variables.... height, build, body type, race, muscle mass etc plays a larger role. Eg. You could have 2 people who are the same weight and height and they look completely different.. what may look healthy on one of them can look different on the other

I want my shiny hair back !

This is one treatment i swear by and literally the only thing i use other than shampoo and conditioner. Put half cup olive oil & quarter coconut oil in a small saucepan, heat it up gently until its just luke warm (not hot, you will fry your scalp) Put the mixture throughout your hair, scalp included and then wrap your hair in cling wrap (plastic wrap)... leave for as long as you require (i leave it for 1hr) Then wash as usual.... your hair won't be oily as long as you lather well. I do this once a week, and everyone comments how beautiful and shiny my hair is... I have also used egg or mayo for a Protein fix in the past, but i don't need it on my hair.

Anybody use a Powerplate for Toning?

Yeah i remember those strap machines.... it was funny watching the jiggle lol This is different, you don't actually jiggle at all... you feel the muscle contracting... hmm have you ever used a TENS machine? Its sorta like that but more intense... and you can target it to specific muscle groups. Its acceleration training, not just jiggling fat... which is pretty much what the other vibrating machines do. There is a few clinical trials that go into the technical stuff.. its interesting. Well, my gym has one... i am happy to experiment and report back... I'll use it for 4 weeks.... and report the change in body tone and skin, cellulite texture and measurements

    Snacks for Movie Theatre Ideas?

Yes, yoghurt tubes sounds a good idea too.... that could be the "something sweet"! Great idea

Anybody use a Powerplate for Toning?

https://powerplate.com/ Basically its whole body vibration, which contracts muscles at a faster rate.... I did notice when i used it years ago when i had my band, i did notice a firmer tone.... but i am curious if people used it with the sleeve. The other vibrating plates are literally just that, but this one is the only one that is used by athletes and for physios to keep muscle and strengthen bones.

    Headaches during liver reduction

Ahh 2 days... yes... you are at the peak!!! Give it 2 more days... your headaches will go.... You are withdrawing from sugar, caffeine and your body is burning glycogen as your body goes into ketosis. . Ketosis is when your body has burned all your glycogen stores and starts using other sources for fuel.... this is exactly what the purpose of the pre op diet is for.... this is what causes your liver to shrink Make sure you drink as much Water as you can. . It'll help make it easier and ease the headaches... in 2 days it'll definitely ease

    Headaches during liver reduction

How far into it are you? Its normal to have a headache for the first 4-5 days.... and its not only the caffeine that causes it... its your body burning the glycogen... so regardless you might still have one. Its so annoying i know... just stick with it.. drink lots and lots of Water to flush it all out and i hope you feel better

    People and their big mouths

Unfortunately many people feel their lifestyle is the correct lifestyle... and i know what you mean about people not liking when you change something in your lifestyle. Eg. I don't drink at all, i still go out and have fun without getting drunk... but here drinking is a major part of social occasions so every single time.. there is at least 1 or 2 people pressuring me to have a drink... and i have to deal with the comments that come with that..... argh Each to their own... if you want to do something... great... if you don't... great... its none of my business what someone else's lifestyle choice is... i just wish they would butt out of mine lol

    Snacks for Movie Theatre Ideas?

I would have taken roasted chickpeas, nuts, string cheese, lentil chips, jerky... and water or vitamin water as the drink

    People and their big mouths

@@BarefootDrummer @@mc2016 Thank you for your support ???? Yes, i agree with you.... its amazing how easy it is for some to belittle you because THEY have an opinion that they know nothing about. I had the band years ago, and was revised to the sleeve recently.... when i had my band, i told everyone... and boy was that a mistake, i regretted it because of all the negativity and comments that people thought they had the right to make. This time around i decided that i would not say anything to avoid that. I was sick of people commenting about my weight, watching me to see what i eat, commenting about what i put in my mouth, making me feel bad if i "cheated", not understanding the hard work it took to get goal.... especially when i was an emotional eater. I have always been a clean eater, my issue was never junk, but i would eat to suppress my emotions.... so having people be cruel and mean didn't help with that post surgery... it made the fight against my emotional eating so much harder. But, once i got to goal and maintained for a while.. people did calm down a bit... they got used to my new size and saw me as "normal"... so i guess that was the silver lining. Once i started gaining after i had the band removed.... they seemed almosy HAPPY about my failure.... which totally sucked... the comments became more frequent and more blunt. Its sad that as a society we judge people based on their looks/size... and not for their accomplishments and who they are... its a sad reality when you have been on both ends of the scale (literally) and the difference in how society treats you, the skinnier you are, the better you get treated... which is so wrong.... Now i am just babbling on hahhaa you get my drift lol

    Nightmares

I know that Vitamin B6 can cause vivid dreams and nightmares. B1 (thiamine) deficiency can can also cause dream issues Or it could be a side effect from the anesthesia. Perhaps check your vitamin intake.

    Hot Dogs?

I would stay away from hot dogs... i had a sausage around a week and a half ago at a festival.... i ended up randomly puking... i think it may be too early to have something so processed, its way to dense. Soft foods.... eggs, lentils, Beans, legumes, yoghurt, really fine minced meat, fish (that was my saviour). What i did was mix Proteins... eg, i would make lentils and add a dollop of greek yoghurt... savoury mince with eggs, mince and beans.... scrambed eggs, that sort of thing.... i added greek yoghurt to anything that was savoury. Slow cooked chicken, make sure its falling apart... and fish...hummus, bean dip, experiment with recipes... I know you are young, are you living at home? Who will be doing the cooking? You can google "bariatric cooking" for some inspiration

    Is this normal?

Very normal.... early out you are very swollen from surgery.... so you can't eat much, but it increases a little each week. For me i was able to finish half from week 3-5 & whole egg at around week 6.... Even now, i am starting week 9, i can't do more than a whole egg regardless of how it is prepared.

    People and their big mouths

Thank you all for your thoughtful and supportive replies.... you are a wondeful bunch of people who i have come to rely on for support through this process. I appreciate the time you have taken to reply and guide me with your wisdom, and for that i am so grateful I have decided that i am going to annoy them even more by being a success.... i will be the best version of myself that i can be. I will not allow anyone (including family) rain on my parade... I've got this.... Life is too short and precious to spend it worrying what other people think, i will be the best i can be, be kind, be empathetic and a good person.... People will always find something to complain or comment about.... i will from now... be graceful and try my best not to allow these people to affect my self esteem. And to the meanies in the world, they can kiss my (now shrinking) behind!! Hahhaa

@@Oak Park Lorena I agree....it is a waste of Protein..... i decided on the potatoes instead hahaha Sorry to hear your family was also insensitive, it really hurts when the people who supposedly love you unconditionally treat you like that... good for you for being strong. I think what bothers them is that they wanted to do WLS themselves and couldn't afford it.... so i think you are all correct it could very well be jealousy. Why can't people genuinely be happy? I am genuinely happy when people improve their lives or succeed, so i don't really understand envy...

Going to the emergency room finally

I agree! Be your own advocate for your health... if you feel something isn't right.... it is better to go and find out its nothing... than wait and have it get worse if it is something. Pooping and vomiting blood is NOT normal! Let us know how you go.... wishing you best of luck.

    Single and Looking!

Well, i guess it is a forum, so most people feel the need to respond or may have been through a similar situation so they offer advice. If a person doesn't want a response or expects a specific type of response and get upset when it doesn't match their expectations, then why would they need post? It seems counterproductive to me. I agree with you, people shouldn't get chastised for speaking up, but it goes the other way too... there is no need to chastise people for replying either.
