You are missing a few adjectives... ie.. good looking, intelligent, funny, adorable, sweet, kind, witty, charming, charismatic, generous, awesome,... i could list all mine, but surely there isn't enough space on this post [emoji12]

    Tightness out of nowhere!

This sometimes happens with the band.... and is common. When i had mine... this would happen: Around the time for my period When I was sick When my tummy was inflammed Early in the morning if i didn't eat a decent sized dinner When i was stressed When i didn't eat frequently enough. The trick is to go back to softer foods for a couple of days.. let it settle down. Try to have a warm drink as the first thing you have every day, i found that helped lubricate things for the rest of the day. If it continues, as for a small unfill until it heals....

@@composed You hit the nail on the head... i have always truly felt that particular family member has some mental issues... they have no empathy for anyone... and seem to get off on the pain of other people, no verbal filter and literally never felt remorse when they have wronged anyone. They have lied, cheated, stolen, physically abused people and has always been proud of it.. grrr This is why i don't really speak to them, only when i "must" and it is unavoidable... hence why i only saw them 2 months after my surgery.... very toxic and negative person.. who needs that in their life... not me
  6. I think you are on the right track... be prepared and try to eat.... I am the same, i tend to not eat when i am really really sad, but generally I'm an emotional eater otherwise... yes i am a weirdo... However, you should eat, even if you have to graze all day to get it in, do it.. you will only harm yourself and it will be counterproductive in many ways... it stresses the body, makes you unfocused, will cause you to stall, you lose nutrients... which are things as wls patients we can't afford to have. Have some small snacks on hand that you can carry with you. eg cheese, deli meat, crudite's etc... perhaps then eating won't seem so overwhelming.
  7. My condolences to you and your family. Death is something that is never easy to deal with. I wouldn't put too much pressure on yourself, try to make good choices, but there is no need to feel guilty or stress yourself this early after the loss of your father. Be kind to yourself, let your wounds heal, give yourself a some leniency and allow yourself to go through the grieving process. My advice is to make the "better choice", choose the healthier option of what is available... unfortunately life does not stop when we have wls, there will be times when it is harder to stick to our plan, but as long as you have it in the back of your mind, and do not allow yourself to fall completely off the wagon, everything will become easier with time. Be mindful not to try and "eat" your emotions, try not to "reward" your feelings.... just take each day as exactly that... one day... if you fail that one day.... try again the next. I really hope things improve for you... sending lots of warm hugs and comfort your way *hugs*

    Neuropathy/ Paresthesia following WLS

They don't usually test it in standard bloods... 25% is definitely not enough for a bariatric patient..the body also doesn't store it for long, so we need to keep ontop of it ... B1 deficiencies cause major issues if not treated early....

Anybody use a Powerplate for Toning?

Do you guys have local groups for pilates?.... i know we have them here where all the little purple haired old ladies go... they are normally really cheap and they go for tea afterwards.... quite social and totally cute! I also see a local tai chi group in the morning at the park... they look so silly, but look like they are enjoying it (Btw... i wasn't saying you are a purple haired old lady lol... just the ones that attend this group lol)

    People and their big mouths

I remember years ago i had gone to my doctor, prior to my wls..... i had genuine concerns... i said "doc, i am literally eating like a rabbit, working out an hour a day and am not losing weight, am i doing something wrong? Any suggestions?" His answer "stop lying to me and yourself, you are probably sitting there on the couch eating 3 big macs" I was mortified, because i actually was eating like a rabbit and working out! That doctor deserved a big mac shoved into his mouth to shut it hahahaha

    Who to tell

I can understand your point... i did feel like that initially.... but the further down the track you get... the less people notice.... by year 4 my new size became my normal so people finally stopped commenting. I wouldn't call it lying... its just you are choosing not to share everything, for example.... we don't share our bowel movements with our friends, if we are constipated and take a laxative... does that mean we are cheating... absolutely not... how is this any different? There is a problem and we are addressing the issue.... which we need to not feel guilty about. We are not obligated to share everything with our friends.. especially the inner workings of our body... unless you want to... its a personal choice
  20. Ooooooooo how exciting for you!! Good luck... and i hope your surgery goes well... wishing you a speedy recovery. Remember.... the most important thing after you get out... walk... walk your heart out... walk as much as you can.... it will get that gas out of your system faster and you won't be in as much pain... and enjoy those fabulous drugs hahaha Keep us posted on how you go... good luck!

    Who to tell

There is no right or wrong answer to your question. This is a completely personal choice based on what you are comfortable with. I personally have done both... i told everyone when i had the band. And now that i have the sleeve i told only my family and 1 close friend. I choose not to tell the 2nd time around because i was sick of being known as the girl who had wls. Everything revolved around my weight and what i ate... i was no longer "me" my wls became what defined me, and i received a lot of negativity and pressure. I would get judged if i ate something naughty People felt it was okay to comment about everything and give unwanted advice I was constantly being watched when i ate, and criticized when THEY thought i ate too much or badly The pressure was overwhelming and i just didn't need it, especially when i am so hard on myself anyway. I felt that i wasn't given credit for my hard work, and was constantly being told i took the easy way out. I also lost many friendships as they felt i "changed"... because i was no longer their doormat and got my confidence back.. During arguments i had people use my weight loss against me when they ran out of ammunition. These were the main issues for me.. so when i was revised to the sleeve after having it removed for 12 months... i decided that it was no ones business and i didn't need the additional drama. This time... its all about me... i am choosing to be selfish for a change and do what is in my best interests. I have decided not to hand over my power to other people as i am a sensitive person who takes things quite personally. However, my experience is exactly that. .. my experience... people in your life might be supportive... they might suprise you. It really depends what you actually want. Which way are you feeling? How have these people handled things in the past? Are they jealous? What type of people are they?

    Headaches during liver reduction

Yeah i think that surgeon's here are a little bit more relaxed than other places.... i suggest trying to cut back on the diet coke though.... its better to cut it out now... cause you won't be able to have it later. Even without sugar, you’re still consuming something sweet and your taste buds will be used to that level of sweetness. Better to withdraw now, than withdrawing as well as recovering

    Headaches during liver reduction

Nope... not unusual... we were allowed to have coffee and tea and sugar free soda.... we even were allowed to have a small dash of milk if ee wanted to. Plans can be different depending on the surgeon

Anybody use a Powerplate for Toning?

Yeah... i think ill stick to cardio and resistance for weightloss, but might incorporate this for strengthening my core and balance.... i have noticed i am not as strong core wise since gaining weight.... i guess it can't hurt right... its only an extra 15 minutes.... Its a shame nothing works on our boobs though.... if only there was something for that! Hahaha

Anybody use a Powerplate for Toning?

Yeah... well it's like a supersized one... i looks easy, but it feels like you've just done 1hr of resistance training.. when you use it for 15 mins... you actually feel the burn. Will be the lab rat for this experiment... ill get measured and only use that for the next 4 weeks...
