Thank you so much!!!

Tomorrow is coming fast!!! Excited but I can feel my anxiety bubbling too. I'm glad I work today. It'll help keep my mind off it. I keep thinking, "what am I doing??? Cutting off 80% of a perfectly good organ!!" lol. I know, I know.....It'll help me get this monkey off my back. Food has dominated my life long enough. I'm ready to take control and enjoy activities more than food. I'm ready, still a bit scared though.

Wow!! Time has gone by so fast!! I can't believe my day is almost here. I've felt overwhelmed and terrified up until about two days ago. A calm has settled over me and I'm ready. I know I've researched this surgery for a long time, I have an amazing medical team and awesome support from friends and family. My primary dr and one of my best friends had the sleeve too. They're both doing amazing. That's inspiring. Today is my last day on the 1,200 calorie diet. Tomorrow I start the 2 day liquid diet. Thursday is the big day!! [emoji2] Any extra prayers and good vibes would be appreciated.

My last preop appt was the 19th. I immediately started the two week 1,200 calorie diet. Then today and tomorrow are liquids. I'm super excited but getting nervous. Do you go to the support group meetings? They're pretty informative.

Do either of you have Dr LaMasters? She's my surgeon. I've heard amazing things about her. My primary dr had the sleeve surgery too and she looks amazing!! She said that LaMasters is a great surgeon. Starting my two day liquid diet today!! Woohooo. I'm so ready for this new life. My first grandbaby will be born in April so I'm determined even more to get healthy.

Thank you Mindi Lou!! How are you doing in this journey?

Hi Nana. Thank you!! I'm having my surgery at Iowa Methodist. Is this your first meeting with your surgeon? Wishing you luck!!
-
Good luck to you too!! You'll be fine. Think positive thoughts. If you've done your research, have a trusted medical team and are willing to follow the guidelines, you'll do great. You've got this!!

Hi fellow Iowans. I'm getting nervous!! Actually super excited. Surgery is this Thursday!! Eeeeks. Where did the time go? How are you all doing in the process?

Can I get some opinions on genepro vs isopure unflavored protein? Which one seems to mix into stuff the best? After taste? Etc. Just looking for some input before I buy any. Surgery is Thursday. I bought Premier protein and I like those now but have heard taste buds can change after surgery. I want to be prepared. Thank you.[emoji4]

Thank you all very much for the input. I really appreciate it. ????

Hello....any Iowans out there? :-) From Des Moines here. Still on the fence about the surgery. Give a shout out if you're in the area.

I think my biggest concern at this point is whether I'll fail at losing the weight, yet again. And some concern about reactions from others. I'm working on getting better habits established now before I get a surgery date. I've been eating healthier, eating Breakfast and lunch which I normally skipped, drinking more Water and increasing my activity. I'm not sure why I'm feeling so anxious about it all. The facts are, I'd be much healthier and happier......but I'm still pretty scared to commit to it. :-/

Hi Mindi!! I'm still going through the hoops too. I'm actually grateful for the hoops. It's giving me time to really gather information and make a decision. How are you feeling about the decision?
-
*waving* ND is where I grew up!! Closer to Minot though on a farm. :-) I'm in IA now.
-
I'm in the DSM area too! Do you have Lamasters as your surgeon? I've heard she's very good.
-
Hi hi fellow Iowan!! *high five* ????

Unfortunately I missed it. My husband had a show Friday night and we didn't get home until after 3 a.m. I'll have to check out the next one. Thank you for checking in. I appreciate it.

You're right. It's a mental cycle. It would be worth it to get my health back. It's still frightening. I'm an over thinker, over analyzer. I just need to work through some of this mental stuff. Thank you for the heads up on the support group. I'm hoping to hear some success stories. That's really motivational. Also would be helpful to hear of the roadblocks too. Thank you for the help and insight. I appreciate it.
