That's ok. Use the extra time to research, prepare your home, get into a walking/exercise habit, work on the no drinking after/while eating habit, etc. It'll be here before you know it. :-)

My energy is better every day. We've been out at stores or running errands almost daily since Monday. My stamina is low though. I can't go for long before I need to rest a bit. I'm honestly shocked at how well I feel after having a pretty major surgery. I can't stress enough, relax and just follow whatever the team tells you. You'll rock this!!

I'm so over the liquid diet phase. So excited to start pureed food, hopefully next week.

I just asked if I could lick my husband's cheese stick!! Wth has this surgery done to me? lmao I'm laughing so hard, it hurts. Oh Lord, I'm glad he has a great sense of humor. I'm soooo looking forward to pureed food!!!

Thank you fran :-)

She is absolutely amazing!! Her entire team is top notch. Everyone from the sweet lady that did cleaning in my room, all the way up to the surgeon....they all treated me so well. They're there for us every single step of the way. And my primary care Dr is just as amazing. She's in indianola....Reagan Barry. I sipped cream soup tonight....Ooooh my. Pure heaven. And I had a sugar free popsicle. Mmmm. It's the little things that make me smile lol

You'll do great. If you've done your research, if you're committed to the lifestyle changes and have a team you trust....You'll do great. If you have questions, let me know. I'll help any way I can based on my experience.

I'm on blood thinner shots twice a day for two weeks. Honestly, I just think my anxiety took over and I was scared. I have bad anxiety. My meds control it for normal stuff but this surgery was above and beyond normal for this girl lol. It's all good. I just need to get out of my head.

I was just sleeved on Thursday, the 29th. No real complications, just odd things. I've noticed today I get random muscle twitches in my leg. Doesn't hurt. Anyone else experience this? Very slight annoying headache off and on too. Only been able to get in 30g of protein and about 60oz of water. My surgeon seems fine with that amount at this point. The muscle twitches just baffled me a bit.

I was having some weird cramping in my left calf so was sent to the ER for an ultrasound for clots. No clots. Just muscles I guess. I have a headache tonight and I'm tired. Other than that, doing well.

Fran, did you have lower back ache? Tailbone area.
-
Fran, were you really tired the first few days?

The bad breath is from no carbs and anesthesia. I have been less than 20 carbs since i was able to eat and i still have the breath from ketosis.Any suggestions for the breath? Brushing teeth and tongue and using mouthwash doesn't help.

Thank you for the support. It's definitely not easy, even without the complications that some people have. I started feeling a bit down earlier and had to remind myself that these first few weeks will be rough, but it won't last forever. I'm looking forward to chewing food again. I'm not really having cravings. Food smells good though. Hubby made me some cream chicken soup. It's tolerable but doesn't taste real good. I'm thinking if my breath smells this bad, it must be coated from all the meds and that may be why soup doesn't taste the same. I need to stay focused on doing my best during this temporary phase. Real food will happen soon enough after I'm healed.

I'm doing well. Struggling to get more than 30g of protein right now. I've been getting in 60oz of water though. Sounds like my surgeon is ok with that for now. I've been a bit sleepy. My surgeon doesn't want me napping more than 30 minutes but I crashed for two hrs. No real pain. Just tender and sore. Horrendous breath even after brushing. My lungs feel a bit heavy and burn a bit, which I've been told is normal. Still using the breathing thing to expand my lungs. Overall doing well. Ready for some energy to return. And I'd really like to get more protein in. One day at a time.

I've been pretty sleepy. My hubby wakes me to walk, drink and take meds. Tummy feels really bloated. May start colace today cause I'm having a hard time going. Lots of burping. No real pain from incisions. My lungs feel burny and full so I do the breathing thing quite often. Overall, not as bad as I'd anticipated. I'm hoping to get some energy back soon. But my body has been through a lot. I'm sure it needs the rest. Hiccups hurt. Coughing hurts. The kind of pain you'd get from too many sit ups.
-
Sure I'll keep you posted. :-)

They gave me Tylenol in my IV and morphine if I needed it. I just pushed the button if I was starting to hurt enough that I couldn't rest. I'm really not in pain. A couple of the incisions are sore but my stomach mostly just feels like I did way too many sit-ups. They've sent a prescription home for pain too if I need. If you have a tough time with certain meds, just tell them. They'll try to find something you can have.

Good morning! I'm on the losers bench! New chapter is beginning. :-) Everything went very smoothly. No complications. No gas pain. Very very little nausea. I took a shower and brushed my teeth this morning. I think I'll be going home around noon. Dr LaMasters is amazing. Her whole team is amazing. I've been following her rules to a T. One things that's bothering me is I'm exhausted. Taking a shower wiped me out. This will get better though. I think it's a combination of the surgery and all the meds.

I'll keep you updated. :-) Looking forward to getting through this anxious, nervous part. Yuck. It's messing with my belly.

I've taken three weeks only because that's what the surgeon suggested as a reasonable amount of time. I don't think I'll need that long, but I guess I won't know until I see how it goes. I work with special needs individuals and most of my work is sitting, driving, walking, bending....no heavy lifting. And I only work a few hours a week right now. We'll see. If I feel up to it, I may go back sooner. I'll miss "my kids".
