  1. Got to move onto full liquids today. And had cream of wheat with so happens to be my first "real" food since before my liquid diet and man... it is bizarre how full I got so quickly. I had 3 tablespoons in my bowl, but was full after about 2 maybe a little more. Super happy that this is working for me! So full. But my belly seems to be happy at this point

    My story

God forgives whenever we ask for forgiveness. God loves us at 2 pounds and 400 pounds. God doesn't EVER leave us to have to fend for ourselves during this time. We are stronger than we think we are. It takes a very strong person to realize they need help and to do something about it! Message me If you need. My

    Diet

I had to do three weeks and surgery is tomorrow! It has been hard, but extremely doable. Just have to keep your eyes on the prize.
  14. I don't think there's necessarily a "Yes!!" moment. At least there wasn't for me. I was eager and counting down nonstop, and now that surgery is tomorrow I'm fighting the doubt which is saying "Are you sure you want to do this?" "What if this doesn't work?!" But I know this is needed regardless. I'm 23 and a mommy to (almost) 3 year olds. I'm doing this for them! They need me to be as healthy as possible, and I know that if I continue to live the way that I am eventually I will run into health issues (which I currently don't have-- luckily). You've got this! Keep researching into you are as confident about it as possible.
  15. I can see where you would think that but only the first article really touched on it.

    What to tell people?

Tell them to mind their own business. Just kidding (maybe). But all jokes aside this is YOUR journey. If you don't feel like telling anybody, which I haven't told very many currently, tell them that you are on the road to being a healthier you. I have decided that I will tell people (if they asks what I am doing) that I have started on a Protein based meal plan (not a lie) and have began working out more (also not a lie.) That is one of the issues I think this society has today. Too many people are worried about what everybody else is doing, and not focused on the mess they may have made. If you don't feel comfortable letting people know what you are doing, don't let people know. You are a grown up! You know what you are doing. The only people that know in my life are: -my family (those who I am close too) -my daughters preschool because I will need help getting them in and out of the car. -and 2 trusted friends. other than that... It is my business.
  17. where did you get your stats for it being slightly safer? I researched like crazy both surgeries, the good the bad and the ugly, and never read anything like that.
  18. You've got this! Surgery day is tomorrow for me!

    Psych Clearance

My psych appointment was nowhere near 2.5 hours long... or I didn't realize it. I had to feel out a question bubble sheet which was super long. A lot of it had to deal with mental illnesses, etc. After that I just talked to the psychologists about what I will do differently after surgery. Etc.
  23. Though I am fairly young (23) I think your heart is definitely in the right place. Though only about 30% of bypass patients dump I believe the thought of eating something that can cause physical pain, sickness, and down right miserableness, is not something that sounds appealing to me. I am going into this situation thinking that I may never eat a piece of cake, fried chicken, etc. like that again... And since that is what helped get me into this situation in the first place, I am okay with that. I am also a "am I bored or am I hungry" person, often times, getting the two mixed up and never really knowing what actually being hungry for me was/is. I would overeat snacks, or not enough and binge at meals... both in which have gotten me to the weight I am today. For me, this will be different because my heart and mind is in the right place. I have dieted and it has only gotten me so far. I often would diet, get to a certain point, and then decide "okay, this is good. I can handle it from here" and life happened causing me to put my "diet" on the back burner. Let's be real here, this is a lifestyle change, this isn't something that if I don't want to do it anymore, I can just quit. This is commitment, and I have always worked better when this it comes to something I HAVE to do. Another reason why it is different for me, is because of my children. My girls are my world, and will be 3 in April. To me this is my way of letting them know that it is NEVER too late to change the situation you are in. "Impossible" is not something that I want them to have in their vocabulary because everything is possible with the right (positive) mindset.

    Liquid diet - weight loss.

I've been on my liquid diet for 19 days now. Had to be on 21 days (surgery Wednesday). I've lost 14 pounds so far.
  25. I was the total opposite. I walked into my consultation with my heart set on having the sleeve. My surgeon asked me one thing: "do you have acid reflux?" My answer: "yes. Not much though" and that was followed by "well VSG could make it worse." Along with that, and the amount of weight I'd like to lose, I pretty much walked out of there with my mind changed to the bypass
