That's where I'm thinking about going. I have already done my 6months supervised weight loss, my nut. visit, and my phsy visit. I'm a little discouraged. I was denied for my bypass due to not having a comorbidity. I was tested sleep apnea, (PCP wanted the test done) and I have it. Contacted the insurance coordinator at dr. Okay, so I was denied in April by UHC because I did not have a comorbidity.did a sleep study and I have sleep apnea which does qualify as a comorbid condition and now I should be approved to have the surgery. So as of April 18th I was denied due to lack of having a co-morbid health condition. (I have to have a BMI of over 35 with 1 co-morbid condition) I am a prediabetic, I have high cholesterol, and I have a fatty liver, but these are all not considered co-morbid conditions?! I'm a mess after finding out I was denied, but my Dr has set up a peer to peer review for May 3rd. Has anyone heard of gaining a successful approval after the peer to peer review?

Today is my peer to peer review, I couldn't sleep last night bc I'm so anxiously awaiting the outcome. I was supposedly denied because I don't have a comorbidity. I have a fatty liver, high cholesterol, and pre diabetic. My BMI is 42. Please pray that I get my big fat approval and I can get on with my new life of living instead of just existing! I've made an apt with the cardiologist to address some chest discomfort when working out as well as my vein issue in my legs. I also have a sleep study scheduled. Hopefully one of the two will uncover a qualifying co-morbidity. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
