    Allentown pa

Good luck. I'm very pleased with Dr Boorse. I am now 7 months post op and feel it was my best decision. Very happy with no issues here. Down 94 lbs.
  2. Then there are days like today. The photo on the left showed up in my news feed on Facebook. I am only 5 months out from sleeve surgery and down 80 lbs. I had dropped 40 on my own over 4 years by just working out and eating better. HW - 360ish SW - 323 CW - 242 Feels good. I have about 25 lbs to get to my goal and I know I'll do it as I have always enjoyed working out. The holidays and sweets are a battle for me. I am lighter now than when I graduated high school. This journey is amazing and I know it's not over for me. I'm training to do a sprint triathalon in June. This just there's me for a loop today. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Spicy food?

Spicy foods did not bother me. My first puréed chicken breast had lots of red hot so it was buffalo chicken. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Suddenly sweaty

I did for the first few weeks. I was sleeved 8/3 and no longer have the sweats. When I asked my dr. She said it was just my body changing. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  6. So I am 2 weeks post op tomorrow. I am to be on a liquid diet for another week then I can move to puréed foods. I have done some "testing" based on what others have said. Do you think this is ok or should I just stay on my liquids for another week. I'm going crazy just having Soup broth, ice pops, yogurt and really thin oatmeal. I have tried some soft stuff out of the soup and I've had no issues. I even took a small bite of chicken and just really chewed it well and no issues. Just looking for some thoughts on moving to puréed stuff a week earlier than my dr tells me to. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    My Pre-Op Diet

I may use some of this. I am on a high Protein low carb as I am 10 days out. I am tired of just drinking Protein shakes Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Aug 3rd here. Had my cardiologist appt yesterday and he told me this is the best decision I could have made. He said we discussed it several years ago and glad I'm finally taking the plunge. Very reassuring to hear that from him. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. Find a new location if u can. I met my surgeon at an information session then had an appt with him at the 2 month mark. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. Met with the surgeon today and got a date of 8/3. I'm very excited and scared. July seems like a crazy month with the other testing: endoscopy, cardiac approval, medical approval, blood work, pre op testing and all associated meetings and appointments. I think time will fly by. My wife is scared because we are on vacation the following week at the beach and she is worried about my diet. I told her I will prep meals and be all set. I don't want to delay to after vacation. Whew......just needed to get that off my chest. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  15. I have been lurking here for a while. I am 6'2" - 325lbs. I have been thinking about the sleeve for a while and started the 90 day program my insurance requires. My wife is supportive of this, however I am still on the fence. Today I went to the gym that I belong to but have not been there for a few months because of some back issues. The owner/trainer tried talking me out of the surgery. "You don't need it but you need to just change your lifestyle". I was down to 287lbs 2 years ago and here I am back up. Still down from the 360 I started at and have done it all through diet and exercise. I am looking for some input from those of you who are considering surgery or have already done it.
