Don't give up! Things always look worse when we going through them. Maybe you could put your students loan in forbearance, which would allow you to put some money aside for the surgery. My heart goes out to people who can't achieve their health goals due to insurance regulations and financial struggles. Be well Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

As a teacher I work with children of different ages, kids don't fear they way we do as adults. I think you could simply say mommy is going to the hospital to have something done with her tummy. She may be there a day or two and she will be feeling better when she gets back. Until then you'll be with dad or grandma or whoever will look after him. If you keep his routine as normal as possible he will be less scared. You may want to mention to the teacher, you will be in the hospital so she can keep watch on him. Sometimes when they are worried their behavior change. Since he's 8 he'll probably be cool as a cucumber. Kids rise to the occasion as needed Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

If you research the fielding, you will discover back several years ago they had a relationship with allergen who produces one of the bands. He was a fan of the band.. I went to Lennox hill and they were more straight up regarding what's the real deal with the band Just to add I had an odd feeling you were having one of the NYU doctors when you said they were pushing lapband. For a forum that's suppose to be supportive, I'm not sure why we're all being so negative towards each other. Clearly we all have opinions, that excellent! It's not what you say but how you say. Many of you have information to share but the tone you present your information with is important. Each surgeon has their own suggestions as evidenced by most threads on this board. What works for some may not work for others. We're all struggling or have struggled with our weight, I'm sure we could find common ground regarding diets we have been on, if we compared notes on the diet we would discover it worked different for each of us. There is no one size fits all, my hope is we can all be successful on our journey. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I'm thinking they get paid something for being on the show. Maybe some of that cash puts a dent in the plastics bill. Something has to motivate them to have what they go through filmed, much of the shows them at their worst. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I'm still pre surgery, there was a time when I could not imagine doing things alone and it made me miss out on things. Now I just do what I think will make me happy. I even travel alone. Our true happens comes from within. If your uncomfortable about the way the surgery has made you eat, than your friends are going to feel like they need to extend a concern for you when their eating things you can't etc... Recovery from surgery is a process, won't be like this forever. The work of the recovery in many ways is a solo journey as far as you making choices about eating and exercising. We spend so much time dwelling on what isn't, we miss celebrating what is. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@outsidemarchinside I could not agree more about having a dog.. Even on days when you want to stay inside, the dog forces you to get out there because it's unfair to deny them their walk. I find once I pull it together to get out with him and he's so happy it makes me feel better. My guy is a rescue too. The dog does force you to socialize with others in the neighborhood. I just feel showing the face gives the information more credibility, something about faceless video would make it anonymous. At least for me I think the face helps the viewer develop the personal connection with person presenting the information. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

appetite suppressants - several years post op

I have found these type meds come with many side effects that disrupt one's quality of life. For me it's usually a nonstop headache. Best to either not use or use for very short term. Think about researching some herbs that may suppress appetite but have less side effect, of course check with your team before taking them. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

@@LisaMergs I had cool sculpting back a few years ago.. I actually paid for two sessions and got two free because the dermatologist office needed a volunteer so they could teach more of the office staff how to use it. Cool sculpting may have improved since that time but other than leaving my stomach all bruised for about a week, it didn't do much. I had pics of the bruises, I'll see if I can find them. It was not cheap, I think it was $1100 for the two sessions, each one is an hour. Granted result might be different if your closer to your ideal body weight etc... I don't think I would do it again. Does your body get used to the fluid intake?
Read2016 replied to Beck90's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink lots of Water per day now pre surgery, when I first started I use to pee often, think the body/bladder had to adjust to constantly having liquids... Maybe try to start upping your water intake now... I keep a bottle of water with me at all times, sometimes I add lemon just to change up the taste... I find on a day I haven't drank my usually amount of water I don't feel good... I recently started using crystal light on the go packs, they help on days when I'm not doing well getting in water. Speak with your surgeon's office, they maybe have samples they can give you. You mentioned your disabled, if you have a social worker or case worker they should be able to find a source of funding for you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
