I'm pre-op.... My dating life is on hold for now, I'm just not feeling me. I do hope to return to dating... I think you have some valid questions... I think you'll know who you want to share that info with and when... It's pretty common for women to eat something small on a first date or leave food behind so a guy might not even comment or notice... I hear the scars aren't so noticeable, if he's about to get some and he is only noticing scars that's a problem lol. I feel your not the first person she has spoken to in that manner... I'm sure someone has brought it to the doctor's attention... If she is still there looks like the doctor condones her behavior.... I know there is a hospital by me that has an endoscopy suite... I'm thinking if you located one at a hospital near you they maybe a slim chance they know of a doctor who could squeeze you in... I have the copy of my actually policy so as I spoke on the phone I said what page is that information on? Both of kept saying does the policy you have say whatever it was on the top... Yep it says that, oh was the response... That's another game, the surgeon will tell you, all that means is if the surgeon was to get paid for a few nonsense office visit that's his choice... I called BCBS and got in touch with my nurse case manager... I asked her to clarify the requirements... After she told me I said your policy doesn't state XYZ that you just said, can you explain why what's in writing is different from what you say... No joke, her responses was "I don't know that's what I tell everybody"... I said you got to be kidding, please give me the number of the supervisor... About half hour later the supervisor called, I said can you please explain to me why the nurse handling my case have no idea what my policy states as the requirement... I got some political correct answer... I went on to explain my story to her...she kept stated things that weren't in writing either, when she could talk her way out of it she changed the topic to the fact I needed the NUT and PSYCH visits... I said I'm well aware of that I called you to discuss your 6 month weight management criteria of which you don't even seem to know what things would meet that criteria... Personally I feel when you the peer to peer is done you will be approved... The answer is those reviewing the case don't have a clue. The policy state you need commodities, mine doesn't say anything about if it can be treated with meds or not. I go by what's in writing. I'm frustrated just trying to get to the surgery part... Here in NY we have lots of choices of doctors, it's a process to meet with a few and decide on the right one... Tomorrow I'm having the consult with the third, a meeting with the NUT and the psych... I think this doctor is the one... All this getting approved is getting me annoyed.... Sorry to hear about your denial... I'm going for my first appointment tomorrow... This is the third surgeon I'm consulting with... I too have BCBS, this entire your approved/not approved is out of control... I feel like I'm applying for a mortgage rather than seeking a treatment for a disease... Looks like some pre-op discussing would have gone a long way in setting some boundaries... You can't control what someone else does, you can set personal boundaries for you... I would let him eat and eat, I would be in another room while he does... Your not forced to witness it. Actions often deliver the message louder than words. @robertd16... We're on May 24th so they want you to lose 20lbs in a month?.... I can't think of any healthy way to do that and it seems rather unrealistic.... Did you have any weight loss at the recent weight in? I would also voice my disappointment about them changing the requirement regarding weight as you are getting near the end of the process.... @foxylady.... You have made a decision to change your life for the better... You know he needs to do the same... I think you resent watching him continue to make bad food choices... He may or may not decide to go the surgery route... @learning to live... I can relate to what your saying as I had a mother who was verbal abusive due to my weight.... It's a sensitive topic for me as well but I think I've just become numb to people and their negative comments.... I had a worker at a store as me yesterday if it was a girl or a boy? I said it's a surprise... Felt that proved most of my weight must be in my stomach and the rest of me doesn't look obese lol... I often say words can hurt more than a punch and leave deeper scars... @wanttobe... The only thing all these spa care about is green... If you got money their more than happy to pamper you without any judgements for the most part.
