I was searching information on Bariatric Sleeve Post-op and came across BariatricPal. I am 4 days post-op having the Gastric Sleeve performed on March 30, 2016. I have struggled with my weight since high school. I gained 50 pounds after starting birth control for menstrual cramps. I was never able to lose the weight. After high school I had to continue to watch my weight, watch what I ate and I had to exercise to keep my weight down. I starting gaining weight little by little. I tried weight watchers and lost about 50 pounds but as soon as I was comfortable the weight just came back. I gained about most of my weight over the last 3-4 years. Packing on about 60 pounds. I tried Weight Watchers again, Medifast, Nutrisystem, cleaning eating, exercising and nothing was working. I gave up. I then had a knee injury and the orthopedic doctor told me I was 100 pounds over weight. That is when it hit me that I needed to do something. I wasn't seeing myself 100 pounds over weight. But I felt 100 pounds over weight. That is when I finally made the call and put myself first. I needed to get healthy for my 11 year old twins, and to see my grand baby that is due in August. I want to be able to snow ski with my husband again and water ski with my girls. I don't want to be that mom anymore that just sits around and watches my kids grow up. It is time to live!!!
