  1. I've never had any restrictions on swallowing my pills. In the hospital, the day after my surgery I was given my normal pills to take. Now just over 3 months out, I have taken whole pills ever since. No worries! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Feeling full

Also weighing your food is very help and helps keep your food goals at bay. I weigh everything I eat. Sometime I can eat the 4 oz of food I weigh out and over times I only get in a couple of bite. Let your body lead the way. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Feeling full

I am now 3 months out and I am still trying to get that fine line down. I can eat something for dinner and I am fine with 4 oz. But the following day I try to eat the same thing and the same amount and get one of those tell-tale signs (pain, watery mouth or feeling like I am going to die). I have been told that you will learn how to work with you new (very angry) tummy. As long as you do not push beyond those feelings or never get there you should be fine. 4. When I had my surgery, I was not required to do the pre surgery prep. I just had to do laxatives and milk of magnesia the couple of days leading up to the surgery. And the day before the surgery I was on Clear liquids only. I can only imagine what it what it feels like to have to go through 2 weeks of pre-op clear liquids only. You should be ok as long as you for things completely as they were designed for the time frame that you can. Good luck to you and I hope the best for you you have to keep us updated. Work-a-holic!

I was back to work in just over 3 weeks. I wish I could have stayed out longer but the bills call lol. One the other hand, I have a friend that had the surgery and was back to work in just under 2 weeks. Just depends on how you feel and what you think you can tolerate. Worried about losing weight too quickly

The plastic surgeon in my area (northeast Oh) came to one of out monthly support groups. He talked about all of the options for plastic surgery. He informed up that you have to wait 18 months before starting the process. You need to have a rash for at least 6 months that you and your primary physican have tried options to cure it. And that your pannus needs to hang a certain amount. All of these things equal medical need for the surgery. He told this to a broad group of people with all different kind of insurance. I am hoping that at 18 months qualify for that surgery so that I can get rid of this excess belly skin that is starting to hang more and more everyday and it's only been 3 months. I hope this helpful! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  10. I just realized that I made a mistake in my post. I meant, at 11 days out I couldn't really eat anything. I couldn't really eat anything for around 2 months. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  11. Smiles thanks, I've been taking an ambassador role and encourage people to ask questions.. that was until I got the.. "I thought you'd be smaller" comments. And I explain I've lost 42 lbs on my journey. But more importantly my diabetes is in remission. Then smile sweetly...thinking all the while "I thought you were smarter"... Sent from my SM-N900T using the BariatricPal App That is so awesome, great way to look at it! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  12. Has anyone have an extreme version of lactose intolerance post surgery. Pre surgery I had a tiny bit of problem with milk here and there. Now post surgery, I can not have anything with milk in it. After consuming something with milk it, I have about 20 mins before I have a violent reaction. (Not to be gross) but I have the worst diarrhea of my life. Can anyone else let me know if I am the only one? Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Lactose intolerance

I am not a fan of the restrictions of being a vegan but have considered being a vegetarian. Time will only tell. And for the time being I have found some "milk" options. I just have to look at every label of everything I buy. Grocery trip are going to take a bit longer lol Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  14. I haven't had many problems at work, but I work in the hospital I had my surgery at. I have had some people tell me, "if I could lose weight before hand why couldn't I just continue on my own?" That is about the worst I have experienced. Those ladies (and I use that term loosely) in you workplace should be ashamed of themselves, and maybe look into what options that have to build their self confidence. 15. I am 3 months out and I can only handle between 3-4.5 oz per meal depending on what I am eating. At 11 days out I could really eat any thing. It can be a scary time because you think you won't ever eat again but does get better. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

What to expect two weeks post op?

I see that most have share with you their great experiences. And had a lot of them have said, you never know how you will feel until you are going through it. I was one of the ones that struggled with liquids and food. Pain was another struggle for me. I typically one to say things don't hurt at all, the pain I experienced was challenging. I do not want to scare you in any means, I feel that we all need to hear the good and the bad. I had my WLS on March 16th and I was completely not prepared for what I was going to go through. The last couple of weeks I am fully getting my energy back but I was not getting enough Protein or Vitamins in. Those make all of the difference. I wish you all the best in your WLS journey and you will have yo share more of your journey and progress. I really hope my story was helpful and not too scary. 17. I am there as while. My goal weight is 165 lbs, which leaves me with a bmi of 26.6 and overweight. I do not want to go any smaller than that. I've been that weight before and for my frame any smaller would look ridiculous on me. By the charts my weight should be 140 lbs. Very unrealistic! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  18. I am now on Bari Active Vitamins. My bariatric center put in a prescription for them for me. The company mails them to me every month. I get Calcium, Multivitamins, Iron and b12 spray. The vitamins are much easier to take than the others I tried. They dissolve on your tongue. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Shakes

I would chat with your surgeon about these feelings. I think that is a dangerous place to be in. You don't want go through all of this work for nothing. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Shakes

I was the same way at about that point. But I am not sure if it was physical hunger or if it was all in my head. At the point it had been over a week since I had eaten and my head as freaking out. That feeling left after a few days and the struggle with food began. 22. I am having trouble with that myself. I am now 8 weeks out and I am still very tired all of the time. I am hoping that when I get my b12 spray and my new Vitamins it will help with that. Are you on vitamins currently? Sent from my SM-G925P using the BariatricPal App

    Stomach noise

So I am almost 8 wks post surgery, and I can not figure out what is the deal with the noises that come from my belly. They are the worst while eating or drinking thing. Most of the time it sounds like hungry pain like before my surgery but when I hear them, I am generally just eaten and very content with my food consumption. Does anyone know what these noises are? Will I always have these? Any way to make them go away? Thanks everyone. Sent from my SM-G925P using the BariatricPal App
