    Goal weight achieved!

Exercise can help with the journey but I have exercised like I am supposed to. Haven't had the easiest road. Lots of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea along the way. A bit hard to workout when you fear these things at any given moment. We all (including myself) need to stop putting so much stress on ourselves. I come here and I am reminded that I just need to let things settle where that will. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Goal weight achieved!

50 lbs is a really good number for 8 weeks. I was at around 35-40 lbs at 8 weeks I think. Like other have said everyone loses at their own rate. And got the mirror situation, I still do not see the body that everyone else sees when I look in the mirror. I do see a difference (can't miss the lost of 90lbs) but just not as much as I have lost. I've talked to my friends and family (and even a couple of post WLS friends) about it and everyone has almost the same response, you see yourself everyday and it's hard to see that difference. Also, it was so miserable in my old body that I think my mind is somewhat stuck there. I am hoping that my mind will catch up to my body. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

I have the same fear, that I will keep going. I work in a hospital and already have people whispering about where or not I am sick. So you cannot let that be something that you fear. People are going to think what they think and there is nothing you can do about that but live your like! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Diarrhea 9days post op

I had the exact problem. You could almost set a timer from when I ate anything until I was running from the bathroom. I have since learned that I am allergic to milk post surgery. So many things have milk in it or a derivative of milk in it, including the whey Protein that surgeons state is extremely important. I as well cannot have lactaid, fairlife, soy or almond milk. I have found that I can use rice or oat milk and there is a protein that is made from Peas. It's possible that you are having some issues like this. You'll just have to watch labels to avoid that run for the bathroom. But (now 8 mos out) sometimes I just say the hell with it and eat or drink something that has milk in it and just pray for the best and just deal with what happens. I hope this has helped some and that you get through this faster than I did. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Weight Gain

I think it's due to constipation. Never thought much about the fact that I hadn't been to the loo in many days that wasn't normal for me. I am slowly making progress. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Drinking after eating

At times it can be a struggle. I started not eating with meals a while before the surgery to get used to that. I am now 8 months post surgery, I sometimes I'll try to get something drink right after eating, and have a couple of times. What I experienced was enough to remind me to not do that again. My program says to wait 30 minutes after a meal and I learn early on that I needed to increase that time to 45 minutes. I set timers on either my phone or my fitbit for that amount of time. For me it's easiest way to not drink too soon. These the times I have experience and I hope something is helpful. And by the way, for being around other that are further out in the process, it's a lifetime thing. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Weight Gain

I am just about 8 months out. During a weigh in I have never had a perceived weight gain but I also have never weighed myself other than at the doctors office. I know I was freak myself out weighing all of the time. Some of us just need so show resistant in weighing ourselves all of the time. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  13. Hi. I am 7 almost 8 mos post surgery. My weight loss has been great. Each visit I've lost weight and completely excited about it. Today I was going through some clothing that I thought were too big based off of size. Putting each item on i became more and more frustrated. Then I went and tried in things that I've been wearing all of the time now and are a little bit snug. I am now terrified that I have gained weight. Everyone around me is saying I am overreacting. But it all feels very real to me. So much so that I am just drinking Protein shakes and shrimp and vegetables. I plan on spending extra time in the gym. Anyone else going these "struggles"? What did yours end up being? What can I do? Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Possible weight gain?

I haven't been tracking them. Now that this is happening i need to get on the ball. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App I bet you'll notice some changes once you start tracking everything again. I started tracking everything during my six-month pre-op diet, and have continued that through my post-op food stages. I am planning to continue that long-term. (It works with my personality as well as helping to keep my consumption on track...)I just re-downloaded myfitpal. I need to make sure I am doing as I am supposed. I've been thinking along the way, why worry about the calories, I can only eat so much. Well apparently that is no longer working. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Possible weight gain?

But I do weigh all of the food that I eat. I stick to 2 oz or so of Protein and 3oz or so of Fiber for each meal. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Possible weight gain?

Not really starving myself, having Protein shakes with greek yogurt, strawberries, pumpkin puree, carrot puree, light cranberry juice. That's only twice a day. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Possible weight gain?

I do not own a scale because I know that I can get a bit obsessive about weighing myself and I like being surprised about my weight loss or gain. This time though it will be too long to go until I see the bariatric team again (6mos). I make sure I always get protein in and I need to get better about having veggies instead of potatoes. But over all I eat pretty healthy Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    Terrified

I am 7 mos post op. I am able to eat just about whatever I like. Sometimes I just want to eat on and off all day. Sometimes I wonder if this is because I am not getting enough calories or just wanting more. Either way I am terrified that I will do something that will undo all that I have done to lose my current amount of weight (82 lbs and counting). I am wondering if anyone is having these kinds of feelings or struggles? Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

Thank you lipsticklady. I think some of you advice will be very helpful. I think the teeth brushing/listerine and/or listerine strips sounds like it may help me. Having that taste in my mouth my detour me from eating some right after that. Again thank you! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    6 months post op

Well I just passed my 6 months out from my WLS. I almost can't believe that it's already been this long. I've lost 82 lbs in that time frame. I am still having trouble seeing the new smaller me. Is anyone else having this issue as well? All those around me, tell me all of the time that I am that I am getting "skinny". Each time I blow it off and say whatever. I am afraid I will never see myself at the weight that others see me. I want to feel like everyone see's me. For those that are further out, have you had this problem and if so has it gotten better along the way? Anything I can do to help change my mind's eye to see my true self? Also, here are my current journey pictures. Thanks everyone Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App

    6 months post op

I am slowly buying some new things. I do not buy much because I am losing and changing sizes very often. I more interested in taking pics and looking in the mirror. Also looking a clothes in on my mind everytime I go to the store and before I didn't even want to pass the clothing. Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  24. I completely agree with this completely. As exciting as it is to go and see those pounds lost when I see the bariatric team, I am over the moon when my clothes are too loose/big to even wear anymore. I've gone from a size 22/24 to now a 14/16 in 6 months. I am so excited about this accomplishments and these are the things that we have to look at to help us not to be down on ourselves. Getting up and moving is so much easier. Currently training for a 5k on October 8th, something I would have never considered before the surgery. Since the surgery I have goals for physical activities. I want to run a half marathon by the time I am 40 years old. That's only a year and a half away. If I can do all of this, you can do this. I'll be here as your cheerleader if you'll let me. Private message me if you need to. We all need a cheering section! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
  25. Hey @@"Andre08" I have heard a lot of people talk about weight stalls. As far as I know I have not experienced any. I only get weighed at my milestone appointment at my bariatric center. This way I am discouraged by day to day weight fluctuations or that I am weighing on a different scales. I love hearing a "drastic" number every 3 months or so. This is method that has worked best for me. Good luck to you! Sent from my SM-G935P using the BariatricPal App
