Why is this (UK Section) so quiet?
RosieCheeks replied to RosieCheeks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sorry girls, been mad busy with work trying to catch up for when I was off. @@Chele, I'm allergic to fish so authentic fish and chips don't appeal to me but I do love the smell of them. I also don't eat curries. I do love cheese however (oh how I long for some cheese) and Welsh rarebit is a delight. BUT no more dreaming of food, just think how much it will be worth it when you pull on those size 10 jeans!!! @ Lulu, weight coming off steady but have had a few days where it's remained the same but on the whole I'm very pleased, nearly 2 stone so far. Please stop panicking. I can't believe how smoothly everything went in Czech and you will be the same. THINK OF THE POSITIVES ONLY FROM NOW ON. Keep us posted, we're rooting for you. @@chris, you're doing so well Chris, I've chosen you as my inspiration, Whilst my weightloss is steady, I'm so impatient, I wanted to wake up after the op a size 10 LOL but it's not even been a month yet so I need to reign in my silliness. Without wanting to wish my life away, I can't wait for this time next year to see how different my life is. Keep up the good work. -
How you doing Emma, where did you have it done?
-
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I'll keep my fingers crossed things go more smoothly for Czech. x

What happened with Belgium LuLu?

Hi Rose Good luck with your op. My GP was fabulous, I made an appointment to see her before I went and discussed everything with her. She arranged for District nurses to come out every day for a week after I got home to give me my DVT injections as I couldn't face doing them myself. Other than that I've not had much dealings apart from getting my stitches out but she did say if I was worried about anything to contact her. Make an appointment with your GP and discuss it with them is my advice.

Hi Chele, Hey, i don't discriminte, welcome. Good luck with your op next month, I hope it goes as smoothly for you as it did for me. -
Good luck and don't worry about your loose skin.
-
Well, stitches are out and I'm feeling absolutely fine. Had some french onion Soup today with onions (Well I never...), and croutons (very soft and soggy) seems to have gone down well. Going for the mashed spuds tonight. I've had no adverse effects whatsoever. Keeping a track of what I eat and I'm nowhere near my Protein goal of 90g a day and struggling with Water but I'm taking a daily multi-Vitamin and mineral. Weight coming off steadily, can't see it yet but I can tell in my clothes. All in all I'm really positive.

I'm looking forward to being where you are (weight-wise, not in Cyprus!) one I've lost enough so that my breathing is easier, I'll begin walking to start. Whilst I like the positivity of this thread, what would you say your biggest hurdle has been?
-
Good for you. Let's hope we all feel the same in a year's time. Well done you!
-
okay now Chris, must have been something that didn't agree with me. I'm astonished at how painless the whole thing has been. Fingers crossed it continues that way.

It's the same as any abdominal operation, you need to give it time to heal. I was warned not to drive for 7 days minimum and would NOT be insured during the period, so please think carefully before 'jumping back in the taxi'.

Hi cc70, I was sleeved on 19th April and I can honestly say I've felt absolutely fine since day one really. I more or less slept for the first two days then came home and I've been ok. I'm absolutely amazed but I've had no pain whatsoever. I drove for the first time on Friday approximately 10 days after. I've no regrets whatsoever, the weight is coming off nicely and I'm looking forward to summer for the first time in years. Too early to say about loose skin. Where are you having it done?

Any April 18 sleevers?
RosieCheeks replied to MrsKTS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm April 19th and really struggling to meet my Water goal. No idea about any Protein goal, I've never been told of any - what is it? -
Feeling ok, no pain, just an occasional discomfort under the left ribs. Struggling to drink the recommended 2/3 litres of Water a day, not drinking anywhere near that.

Sleeve this month in Belgium!

Overall I was very happy with my treatment, I really couldn't fault it. The nurses were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. However, I wouldn't go back to that particular clinic simply because I found the journey home gruelling. The clinic is in Brno, a two-hour drive from Prague airport so I was up at 5am and didn't reach my home, which is ten minutes from Manchester Airport, until 1.30pm, I was completely exhausted and thought it was maybe just a tad too much after a major op. If you think that isn't a problem for you then I have no hesitation in recommending. -
Hope so Chris. Thanks. can I ask, is it normal to get terrible 'runs'? I had 100ml clear Soup before and it's gone right through me and I don't want to say what happened, needless to say there was a right mess. Sorry to be graphic.

Feel better for being back in my own bed. Still struggling to sleep on anything but my back which is weird as I never sleep on my back but it's uncomfortable any other way at the moment. Not in any pain, just a little uncomfortable in a 'trapped wind' sort of way. Showered this morning and a couple of teaspoons of custard for brekkie. Waiting on nurse to come and give me my DVT injections. Trying to upkeep my Fluid intake by sipping at Water constantly. Mentally I'm convinced I've done the right thing, just can't wait to start seeing the results and get started on a wild shopping spree for clothes from 'normal' shops. Harvey Nick, here I come.....

Home, in bed, it's never felt so lovely. Update tomorrow, I'm exhausted.

okay for home tomorrow. no pain just the feeling of trapped wind. cant wait to be back in my own bed.
