@@VSGMB How you getting on? @@Lulu - where have you disappeared to? @Jinty - men never grow up!

I sometimes have Farleys Rusks for breakfast or Oat So Simple or just a yoghurt. As I've never eaten eggs I don't miss them. What about a soggy weetabix?

@@jintycb, So you had a blow out, well it's allowed every now and again, I hope you had a great time. Thanks for the offer of the beds but my cat, Toots, has had more beds than you can shake a stick at. She lies on them for a few days then goes back to the bottom of my bed, so I've decided there's no point in having one, taking up space. Get them on Ebay and add some coffers to your Brand Alley fund! I've had a bit of a spending spree this weekend, I've bought a new Dyson and one of those super dooper Bean to Cup coffee Machines. I don't drink a lot of coffee but when I do, I like good coffee. Talking of drinks, I'm really missing my Irn Bru, being Glaswegian and not drinking Bru just isn't natural. I used to drink about 2 litres a day (diet of course) but haven't had any since my op. I might have to apply for special dispensation from the "Being Glaswegian" Club in order to preserve my membership. Today is a lazy day, may paint a bit more of my new fence but it's boring painting on your own. Will go to Waitrose for some coffee Beans so I can have a play when my machine arrives this afternoon. Hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous sunny bank holiday.

I'm struggling with chicken. I'm not sure whether it's because I'm eating too fast, not chewing enough or it's just too early but I'm not going to stress, I'll just give it another go in a couple of weeks. I'm into my new Soup maker at the moment. Mushroom is my favourite. Pack of mushrooms roughly chopped, 2 stock cubes in 1.5 pints of Water, roughly chopped onion. 20 mins on smooth blend in the soup maker and it's scrummy. Best £65 I've spent in a while. Off to paint my cat's kennel bright green to brighten up my garden.

I live 10 mins from Manchester airport and they only fly to Prague. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I didn't think too much about the journey home at the time. Trial and error is the only way to go. Try but if it doesn't work leave it for a few weeks then try again - I'm sure we'll all get there in the end. @@Lulu hope you had a great birthday yesterday. x

I was pretty unimpressed with BB overall. Whilst I can't fault the clinic and the op etc, I really thought BB let the whole thing down. For instance, I asked if there was anyone else flying from Manchester at the same time as me and she said she would let me know; she didn't and I went on my own only to find two others had arrived together earlier in the day. I also wouldn't use that particular clinic again, purely down to location. That extra 2 hour car journey on the way home nearly did me in. By the time I arrived home I was completely exhausted. I'd choose somewhere closer to an airport if I were to do it again.

I'm lucky with work as I work for two multi-millionaire tax exiles who are only in the country infrequently and I'm based from home so I manage my own workload. My job tends to be all or nothing, so I took a week off and the following week was pretty much nothing, so wasn't an issue. I didn't drive until my stitches came out and I got the ok from the doc.

Hi MB I moved on to mushy after two weeks and have been more or less introducing 'normal' stuff slowly. I found chicken hardest to digest so thought I'd just leave it for a bit a try again. I felt fine more or less from day one, a bit of 'gas' discomfort for a few days and a bit more tired than usual for a week or so but since then I'm ticketyboo apart from my wee wobble the other day. However, feeling upbeat again and getting on with it. Having half a M&S Count on Us Cottage pie tonight - yum yum and my Friday treat, 50g Yoo Moo strawberry Swirl Frozen Yoghurt. I found BB information sadly lacking, they could provide a lot more than they do. How you doing MB?

Woke up in a better frame of mind today, thanks guys.

Where's 'here'?

Oh I'm so glad I found this forum. Feel much better now, thanks guys. Jinty, I promise not to kill my dead granny . I'm not getting any exercise, I've not lost enough yet to make breathing easier plus I twisted my knee a couple of weeks ago and it's still sore. That's probably not helping. You'll get there Lulu, get out and have yourself ball on Friday, many happy returns x

Thanks for the support all. I know I'm being unrealistic and it takes time but patience has never been my strongest point. I feel as if I have 'baby blues' LOL, I'm sure I'll be ok tomorrow, just one of those days. Lulu, what's happening with you?
-
I have a bread craving, I'd kill my granny for a crusty loaf and lump of french butter. Maybe it's because I'm sort of disappointed. I know in reality you don't wake up a size 10 after your op but there in the back of your mind there's a glimmer of hope so I guess I feel my weight's not coming off fast enough. I seem to have stalled somewhat. I'm still not getting the scales out the shed until next month so I may be wrong but I just don't feel any skinnier and not one person has asked me if I've lost weight. Think I'm just fed-up.

Is your uk plan different to most on here

Hope you're ok cc. The gas passes in a couple of days.

weigh ahead program/ how long for surgery
RosieCheeks replied to cinders252's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Cinders I know in my area you have to do a 26 week "Lifestyle' course before you'll be considered but even then it's not guaranteed, it differs or each area. I found the NHS pretty unhelpful in all so I just paid privately in the end. -
Life changing wonderful sleeve!

Glad you had a good time Soo. I can't wait to be feeling how you veterans feel! -
Are you still struggling LuLu? There's Lithuannia with Nordbariatric.

Thanks Jinty. I hate shakes of any kind whatsoever so I've just been adding the Protein powder to Soups, yoghurt, cottage pie.... anything really. The other thing is I'm allergic to fish and eggs. I've been eating Waitrose calorie counted cottage pie topped with swede rather than potato, occasionally. My favourite thing so far though is my new Soup maker, I love it. Throw some stuff in and 20 mins later you've got gorgeous soup and you can choose chunky or smooth. Today I've made the most delicious mushroom and bacon. I'm also making a conscious effort to up my Water intake. The best decision I've made is to put the scales in the shed, I was becoming obsessed so I'm now only going to weight myself once a month on the anniversary of my op. Can't believe it was a month ago tomorrow! I'm taking your advice and will refrain from stressing!
-
I'm really struggling to reach Protein levels as I hate Protein shakes but I've been to the local supplement shop and bought some unflavoured powder and have started to add a spoonful or two to everything I can. A lot of people on here are quite vocal about reaching Water and protein levels, it's a shame my clinic didn't emphasise it so much. Any advice from the veterans, Chris/Jinty?

Good luck CC. Let us know how you get on.

Why is this (UK Section) so quiet?
RosieCheeks replied to RosieCheeks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The Outnet is another great site for designer bargains. -
I don't think it's a case of being 'able'' to drive, it's more about insurance company stipulations. This is classed as major abdominal surgery and your insurance company may require a doctor's okay before reinstating your insurance. I would be very careful and check it all out before jumping back behind the wheel. Personally, I would not get in a car with someone 3 days after surgery, the anaesthetic hasn't even had chance to clear out.

RosieCheeks replied to RosieCheeks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi Jinty, another great positive story. Your pics are amazing. Impatience is my worst trait although a couple of friends have said to me recently 'you've lost weight' which is good because I didn't tell many I was doing this, for no other reason that I'm sick to death f my weight being everyone's preferred topic of conversation. I just want to get on with it and I will tell them in my own time. I haven't weighed myself this week as it was becoming a i of an obsession, so I've stuck the scales in the shed for a few weeks and hope for a nice surprise when I fish them out. -
