Glad you're okay Lulu. Maybe try some clear soup but in reality only a couple of spoonfuls. Personally I just didn't feel like anything, it's down to how you feel I guess. As for Water, just keep sipping throughout the day, managing what you can but don't try to over-do it, your intake will increase the stronger you get, it's unlikely you'll get dehydrated as long as you keep at it. The Vitamins will wait 'til you get home. Before my op I arranged with my GP for the District Nurse to come out every day and do my injections so I didn't get them from the clinic, I got mine on the NHS. I deducted £70 from my clinic's bill. I didn't bring any meds home but I remember my clinic telling me the meds should be fine; if the airport workers stop you, you should show them your discharge form. I flew with Jet2. Another thing I did was copy my discharge form when i got home and sent it to my GP. Make sure you're resting enough, sleep as much as you can, it really does help. How are you feeling now?

No-one is accusing you of being a drama queen. Having surgery is scary but having surgery in another country where you are struggling to understand people is doubly scary, we understand your fears. Just try to keep calm and sleep as much as possible, it really does help. Get your injections, that is a must. Your company don't sound very supportive, keep posting questions, we'll help as much as we can. x

Calm down Lulu. They will take the drain out soon and yes, for a few weeks I could only sleep on my back. Apart from that, how are you? This is perfectly normal, the will probably offer you some clear Soup tomorrow.

Keep on trucking Lulu, let 'we shall overcome' be your motto. We're all behind you. xxx

There seems to be a burst when someone new joins then it all goes quiet again, has it always been like this?

Why is this (UK Section) so quiet?

Hi Jinty, hope you are well. I wondered where you'd disappeared to. -
I took some basics for the journey home. Tinted moisturiser, eye liner & mascara, just so I didn't scare any children at the airport. I haven't gone out in public without make-up since I was 17.

I'll be waiting..... x

Good luck Lulu, we're all rooting for you. Di x

Why is this (UK Section) so quiet?

I bought my first top in ages from a 'normal' shop and not a 'fat' shop - I was tickled pink. Now a size 18 bottoms and 18/20 top, down from 22/24 bottoms and 24/28 top. However, my head is getting bigger with every pound down -
Hey Lulu My friend came back sleeved on Saturday from Prague and said she still can't believe how right I was when I said how painless the whole thing was. She's convinced they put her to sleep and didn't do anything

Hi JJ - welcome! I've been on a stall too but it's started coming off again. I was sleeved in April and looking at your stats you've lost the same as me, so hang on in there, you're not doing badly. -
Hi Lulu I was in the clinic for my stay but I didn't eat anything. You'll just need sips of Water and probably sleep a lot. Ask the company you're going with for recommendations. Sorry I can't help, I had a different set-up.
-
You'll be absolutely fine. I was astounded how painless the whole thing was.

Not long now Lulu, remember to keep us posted. x

Well, from "Two weeks to go" to "Three Months Post-Op today". The difference three months make. Three months exactly since I was sitting in a clinic in Prague thinking "well I've done it now so might as well go along for the ride' . Whilst I don't have any regrets, it's completely different to expectations and it's certainly not the 'magic wand' I secretly thought it would be. I'm 37lbs down, which personally I think is disappointing. Maybe due to lack of exercise. Still haven't lost enough for my breathing to improve sufficiently to enable me to do more but I am making a big effort in walking. I am enjoying my new diet and not really missing the junk I used to cram down my neck. I've discovered I love strawberries and can get sugar hit from them. I'm cooking a lot more fresh meats, steaks, lamb chops etc which is nice. I weigh everything frantically and research nutrition values, if it's not giving me anything positive, it's not going near my mouth. I went for lunch the other week and treated myself to spaghetti carbonara. The restaurant were great and weighed out 150g for me, although when it came, it was a disappointing sight compared to my friend's huge mound of lovely Pasta but sure enough, it filled me perfectly adequately. I hope there will be a bigger loss next month, fingers crossed. PS, I've search most of Greater Manchester & Cheshire for these Irn Bru ice lollies but they continue to evade me. I might have to have some shipped in.

About a week after the op as I forgot to buy them.
-
Well done Soo and Chris. Long may your weight loss and friendship continue. x

Hey Lulu Finally! I wish you lots of luck but I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine. I got normal Vitamins as I couldn't find any chewable ones.
-
I've just googled and been reading about them and definitely going to get some but it'll be weird as I have a 'wooden stick' phobia - I know, I'm an oddball but I just can't touch wood if it's not painted. I'll have to buy some, put on some rubber gloves then cut them off their sticks. There are no lengths I wont go to for my Irn Bru fix.
-
OMG! I have never seen those. I'm off to Tesco, where I never shop, hope no-one sees me! Thank you, if you were here I'd kiss you x

Hey no worries- keep going and I'm crossing my fingers for an amazing result for you later in the month! Currently sitting at my first corporate function since surgery- wine and a three course meal- it's a real test! I don't want to eat anything really, but I'm conscious that if I don't it will look pretty weird! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Enjoy!

Day 2 in the Big Brother House and I am reaching my protein goals easily now with the added protein bar, diet tweaking and calorie increase so fingers crossed for a result n the 19th. I've bought one of those Tefal Opti-grills so it makes life much easier. There are more gadgets in my kitchen that there is in John Lewis, it's ridiculous but I do love them all. I'm very grateful to you @@VSGMB and will keep you posted.

I'll convert all that info, I still work in old money I love crackers and cheese so I've bought some multigrain and some high fibre ones, I'll give these go for snacks (moderation of course) and see how it goes.

H&B are extortionate, I'm just online now ordering some more quest bars at half the price. I'm going to clear out my fridge and then pop off to Waitrose and refuel. How many calories a day should I aim for? At the moment it's between 500 - 700?
