  1. I'm 5 months post op. I've bought chewable Vitamins from 3 different companies and can't stand them. I've done TESPO liquid vitamins and I really really don't like the smell. That is my problem mainly is smell. I can stand these however at $80 a month and 3 times a day.. I would like something better. I just got the Bariatric Advantage Capsules (pills), and WOW.. the smell.. makes me GAG to take them. and then the smell seems to come up from my stomach and I feel like I'm going to puke up to 5 mins after taking them.. The smell gets me. I've done the Patches however they don't actually provide enough vitamins Is there anything else out there??? Thanks, Wendy PS I do really LOVE the calcium liquid shooter from journey. Though extremely thick I have no issues with this.
  2. I have hashimoto's Thyroid disease! I cannot tell you how I debated so many times to NOT have the gastric bypass surgery! It took me 4 years.. My first referral for the surgery was in 2012 at Ft. Irwin, CA. My health decreased so much from 2012-2014 I went from having one bad day a month to having only ONE good day a month. What I mean by that is able to get out of bed and function. Not sleep 12-18 hours a day! YES a day!!! When I finally had bypass surgery April 6, 2016, I didn't know it would change my life. I wasn't expecting it to help my Hashimotos or me be able to function normal again and NOT sleep so much! Out of everything this surgery gave me my life back! I now sleep like a normal person does, I'm NOT tired anymore! I get ALOT of stuff done in my days now that before I couldn't. I'm more than thankful I finally did the bypass surgery, if I had know this before I would have done it in 2012! ~Wendy

Not able to get protein down

I'm 4 weeks post op and I struggle daily to get one Protein drink in! I've tried 20 or so different kinds. Most are the smell that gets me! Some make my mouth numb and I won't drink them. Premier chocolate no cold I can do some days other days I settle for 1/2 a Protein Bar. It is a daily struggle for me and I've wasted a ton of $$. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Left side stitch

I have the left side stitch that I have felt from moment one. My rny was 4/6, and it's annoying stitch. I'm 100% sure it's where he tacked the stomach to the abdominal wall. I was hoping it would go away after some wt loss. I watched a rny surgery video and that is the only way to explain the stitch is because it is an actual forever stitch, (tacking) the organ so it doesn't move to the abdominal wall. To "Bypass" or to "Sleeve"?

I took 2 years of classes (nut classes) for the sleeve, and at the 6 month mark I just wasn't ready. 5 years total, I finally last week had the bypass. What I learned is the sleeve is the only one not reversible. I wanted the sleeve however I have huge acid problems and got the bypass. I'm a week out today and having the OMG what did I do thoughts so I'm not helpful past what I learned in years of classes. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
