You need to write this out and send it to your doctor via email and snail mail. She needs to know. I am sure you are not the only patient who is feeling alienated.

My insurance did not require a diet but my surgeon required a 5% loss before she would schedule surgery and submit to insurance.

Where in Texas? I'm in Austin. My surgery is also about 5 or 6 weeks out, its scheduled for May 17th but I'm trying to reschedule for the 10th.
I am working on drinking water throughout the day, testing recipes for the liquid phase, and I'm making sure to take a good amount of Vitamins so that all my blood levels are good going into surgery in case they drop in the first few weeks due to not getting enough nutrition in while I'm learning a new way of eating. I also want to make sure I am really hydrated in case I fall down on getting enough water the first few weeks too.
I'm scheduled for May 17 in Cedar Park, TX! Who is your surgeon?

I wouldn't probably. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it! If you want to, do it! Do it for you!

I had to lose 5% of my body weight to be scheduled for surgery and will have a 2-day, clear liquid diet with bowel prep immediately pre-op. I'm scheduled for May 17!

I was 5'11" for years and years. Now I'm 5'9.25" and was floored just 2 months ago when I found out.

Personally, I would avoid them like the plague. My PCP, whom I trust implicitly, actually asked me specifically not to go to true results.

I take all my meds at nighttime so I sleep through any of the nausea.
