I think the only thing I'm nervous about at this point (surgery is this coming Friday) is I'm scheduled for a 3:30pm surgery. I'm gonna be SO hangry! Clear Liquids the day before then nothing except to take my approved daily meds with a little Water the morning of. I'm sure they won't be on-time either, I'll be lucky to be in surgery by 5:30. Still waiting on a call from the 'business dept' from the hospital. So I'll put this out there cause it makes zero difference to me. My individual deductible is $600, Family Deductible is $1250. We have only met maybe $150 of the Family Deductible and $0 of my individual Deductible. However, my (individual) Deductible is waived since I chose a COE facility. Apparently they are running behind. I called yesterday and the rep said most are being approved on the 14th or 15th business day. They have til Friday for me. I have an appointment at the hospital on 11/11 to do pre-op stuff. I feel like my life is full of appointments...had a pap today, mammogram is ordered. Sent from my SM-N930T using the BariatricPal App The pre-op stuff is like to get the soap/wash for the shower the night before surgery. And any additional blood work or whatever they may need. Go over meds, what to take and not to take day of surgery. I feel like I already know all that, but I have to go regardless. But it's actually at the hospital, not the surgeon's office. My PCP just wants to go over my lipid panel, separate from the surgery stuff. But I was due for my annual well women exam soon, since my surgery is the 18th I wanted to knock that out, so that appointment was with a Gynecologist today and he ordered the mammogram. I hope I can knock that out before surgery too. I'm waiting on a call from the diagnostic place to get that scheduled. The only thing that has to do with surgery is the appointment at the hospital. I did learn something that everyone may already know, but I didn't...so I wanted to share. (As I've read in the forums before) It's not true that the Optum nurse we are required to have reviews our file for approval (I didn't believe that anyway). As far a bariatrics, if you have UHC and your employer is Apple (for example) all those files are reviewed by the same person or group of people. Supposedly once my file was reviewed it took less than an hour to approve, but it took them 27 days (and several calls for a supervisor from my surgeon's office) to actually decide to look at it.
