  1. I am 8 weeks post op vsg and am doing really well--however, my biggest and newest issue is that nothing I drink is satisfying--I'm doing my crystal light and regular Water and have been trying lots of other choices that are zero/low calories/sugar, etc, but nothing is like it used to be. I'm finding it strange that the taste change for me has been with my drinks! I wasn't an "addicted" diet coke person, but I did enjoy it at least once a day or every other day. Plus, I think one of my medications causes dry mouth and I found sparkling waters/soda cut right through it--sigh! Any other ideas?
  2. I am 8 weeks post op and just about a week ago I can say I've finally found some regularity! For me, it was all about the right foods finally getting back in my diet and also Benefiber about every other day, and Vitamin E 400 IU every other day! Adding the Vitamin E really made the difference for me! Miralax took too long for me.

    vitamin suggestions

I started the Patches soon after my surgery. I couldn't tolerate the Vitamins in pill form--true for me prior to surgery as well--so, my surgeon was fine with patches and said I'd be his first "guinea pig" as no one else in his practice has used them. I'll have my blood work done next month and we shall see!

    November Sleevers!

I am day 3! Not too bad, had more muscle pain around the incisions and pain when swallowing my little sips. Haven't gotten much else in other than a few oz of protein shake and a jello! No desire to eat. Plus, lots of acid reflux. I feel like it is getting better each day.

    Over 300's

Well, I just had my sleeve surgery yesterday and my weight was around 500lbs! I won't weigh again till next Thursday.
  8. Hello All! This is my first post here. I've been reading various posts around all the forum topics for about a month now and appreciate all the sharing. However, I'm feeling really overwhelmed by the number of posts/forums, etc. I would love it if someone could either direct me to a small group of some sort or stick with some folks over the next few months. My surgery is schedule for Nov 30 and will be the sleeve. While I'm well versed on so much of this process, I still need feedback and to hear from others. I know this is a necessary step to regain my health, but it does make me a little nervous. Thanks so much! Robin W.

    Learning the schedule of eating

Thank you for sharing your article, James . . .most helpful and informative.
  10. Hello all, I'm very new to this forum and am currently going through my pre-op requirements for the gastric bypass surgery. While I'm pretty comfortable with the types of food to eat, I am struggling with how to manage a schedule of eating and of course, the portions. I am thinking about pre-packing Protein sources for the "snack" part of the day and to get containers to measure the right portion. However, the schedule for eating every 2-3 hours is daunting and the post-op schedule looks even more challenging. Would appreciate any thoughts about this specific issue. . .thanks! Robin W.
