So Jess, How does being on an outer island work? Kaiser flies you in for the day? Transportation, food? All that stuff?

I'm so excited that I finally get to meet you on the 6th! We'll both stay strong and get through this together! It's a year from orientation, I think. I hate that time frame but at least we're on our way. Baby steps. Hope we have classes together, too.

It was a little bit of a letdown. The info session was for all types of weight management programs so the info wasn't specific to bariatric surgery. Also, the whole process will take the entire year. I was so hoping there would be some kind of fast track. Anyways, the info session for the bariatric surgery will be May 6th. That'll be the big,min formative one. I'm still excited just wish it were sooner. I want out of this wheelchair! Jess, hope they can get you scheduled for the May info session!

Kaiser has been my insurance carrier for 25 years! But I've heard that Castle also has a great bariatric program with accreditation and the award of excellence.....just like Kaiser. I'm not sure about Pali momI, tho.

Sally, What was your class schedule like? Did you have to do an endoscopy pre-surgery? What kind of pre surgery diet did you have to be on and for how long? I could go on and on. Jess, when are you scheduled for your info session? I need a buddy so we can get each other through this?

Has anyone gone through Kaiser Hawaii for their surgery? What is the process like? I need Hawaii peeps to pick their brains.

I'm just starting out, as well. My information session isn't until 4/20 and I'm already a ball of nerves along with excitement and a lot of fear, too. Nice to meet you and I hope all goes well for you in the future!
