  1. Ken, I also noticed that on 2nd November my emails from BP started going to my regular inbox, and not to the special BP folder I made. Those emails were from: Alex@BariatricPal.com No dramas, I just changed my preferences for that particular email address, and added it to My BP folder. Today, I finally started to receive emails back again, from: no-reply@BariatricPal.com So, it seems to be working again. They are not going to my spam/junk folder (they never did), and today's emails are landing nicely in my BP folder. Thank you! @@kmorri Good discovery! Thank you

Also, I'm starting to think it may have had something to do with the last Windows 10 update. I think it was about the time when I started having this problem.

Thanks @kmorri. Today I got 1 email. I'll keep my IP in mind. I mainly use my Macbook pro. It had a big software update recently too, but my emails were OK after Sierra update, till couple of days ago. Maybe the election melted it, LOL

OK, I am getting the emails now, few more landed for me, after I wrote my last comment.

Good find re: the sender's email address change, in your post in Website assistance.

      Thank you @kmorri :)

  4. @@Ken S. Hi Ken, Now I am not receiving emails from bariatric pal. I saw recent comments on some of the topics I joined and am following. I can see them on your website, but nothing in my own email inbox. I checked my Spam and Junk folders, not there. I am with BigPond in Australia. Thank you!
  5. @@katragina I second this. Nothing else worked for me, except Nexium (Esomeprazole) 40mg. Tried 2-3 other PPIs, and I was suffering from sever reflux post op sleeve. Nexium did the trick for me. It is long lasting, and it worked quickly. I weaned myself of it very slowly, 2 months ago. Now, 8 months post op, I don't have anymore reflux! Still keep the refilled script though, just in case, but so far, so good. Good luck, hope you get relief soon!

In the popular vote, they were actually split pretty evenly with Hillary just slightly edging him out. Neither of them had 50% of the vote though, Even though I didn't support him (I had issues with her as well although I don't think she is the criminal many want you to believe, but her policy proposals were closer to my political leanings), I am hoping things won't be as bad as I fear and that the democrats in congress will sit down at the table and work towards compromise on some things and appropriately and professionaly block the more extreme items - instead of the complete obstruction displayed by many of the republican members of congress over the last 8 years. My real concern is how his rhetoric and hate speech has emboldened a significant faction of his supporters (by no means all of them) to believe that discrimination is not only acceptable but necessary. So the personal positive that has come out of this is that it has spurred me to be much more vocal and active in fighting against discriminatory practices and behaviors. This "nasty" woman won't be silenced.

As far as FL goes, strong turnout from the Cubans, low turn out from the blacks, esp. Haitians. FL is a toss-up state. Interesting fact...20% of the vote was by mail three weeks before when Trump was way down in the polls and that is why it was for Hillary.

Yes, it makes it hard when both candidates are not very popular and their policies questioned. Hopefully he will have some good, calm advisors to keep tabs on his extreme views and potential policies.

    New topic time...

Now I am religiously cleaning my new Daith piercings, in both ears. It is a long healing time for those cartilage piercings ...... I think they are helping with my migraines/nasty headaches. I noticed them easing off! I also found out how to pronounce Daith correctly, LOL. It is ..... Doth, like a Moth or Goth
  9. Oh, this must be disappointing and frustrating. I had to wait 9 months for my surgery. Instead of being sleeved last July 2015, I finally got sleeved March 2016. My Surgeon's Endo found out I had Graves Disease (hyper-thyroid), and that had to be addressed first. It took 9 months of thyroid treatments for it to be stabilised enough for this surgery. Funny enough, the waiting time went really fast for me. Hope yours goes quickly too!
  10. Oh, and week 3 till week 5, I was on Purees. I was adding runny yoghurt and stock to my purees. Stock to savoury purees to make them more runny. Canned tuna, refried Beans etc I was allowed from week 6 (Soft/Mushy stage)
  11. When I was on the liquid phase, and felt hungry most of the time, my Dietician advised me to keep adding Protein powder to my liquids. I bought neutral flavour Protein Powder, so I could add it to Soups (cream soups). This helped a bit. I was also told that the gnawing type hunger sensations are acid. I was sent home with acid reducers, but I had to change to a stronger one later, and that really helped me. As to the canned tuna, I was told that providing I can break it with my tongue, or mash it with a fork, then it would be OK. Canned chicken wasn't mentioned. How about Refried Beans? Good luck! I found the first 2 weeks post op, the toughest, but I got through it!

It felt like death was coming

It sounds like you had a dumping episode, throwing up soon after eating, cold and clammy with sweats, then real bad tiredness. I had those too, after eating beef, and scrambled egg on another occasion. Feeling the food rising up was unpleasant/scary enough, let alone throwing it all up, soon after eating. I was laid out for hours after those episodes. I haven't touched beef since, and the only eggs I have are soft boiled eggs. Other meats are OK, strangely enough. I hope you feel better soon! And perhaps don't touch this type of food for a couple of months or more.

    Do you miss food?

Why are you crying everyday? You're feeling bad from your pre-op diet? Do you have a therapist associated with your bariatric practice? You should NOT be this distraught heading into your surgery. You really need to talk with someone who can help you put your fears and concerns into perspective. A week before my surgery I was nervous, but it was that good, "I can't wait!" kind of nervous, like before your wedding or when you do a pregnancy test and you WANT to be pregnant...you shouldn't be crying and dreading it. It may be that the time isn't right in your life for something of this magnitude. I'm 5 weeks post op and have had the worst post op care. My NUT has actually stopped emailing me when I have questions and I don't actually have a follow up with my surgeon until next week. I've had no Vitamins as my paper stated I shouldn't take them until week 6. I use this forum a lot to help me through but I'm not getting the medical support I need. Sorry to hear that! Post op care is so important. I hope you will mention to your surgeon that your NUT ignores you emails with your questions. I am also surprised that you were not allowed vitamins till week 6. I had chewable BN Multi and a vit B12 spray, that I started couple of days post op. Yes, regular vitamins can be too big and too hard to swallow, and can bring on the nausea early post op. This is why there are special bariatric vitamins for early post op recovery. I hope that your next week's appointment with your surgeon will be fruitful for you, and that you will start feeling much better soon! All the best!

    BURPING!

It most likely is your new, baby stomach healing. It takes 6 months for the stomach to heal. I used to burp a lot, early post op. Now, 8 months later I don't burp much anymore. If this is a concern for you, please speak with your surgeon. Good luck!

    Update

@@jadah77 Hi! I have lost 70Ib, and recently I have been in the longest stall yet, 6-7 weeks my weight is staying the same. The last 19-20 Ib are proving difficult to shift. Basically, for me, the honeymoon period is over ...... How are you doing?
  17. Mine was really, really bad ..... Even on a PPI acid reducer. I had few frothing and foaming episodes that woke me up in the middle of the night, and had daily discomfort. I didn't have GERD or suffer from acid reflux before. After the sleeve, it was out of control. I stopped drinking V8 juice, elevated my pillow, would take 2 tablets of my PPI at times. When I switched to Nexium, it finally went away! I am now weaned off Nexium, and remained acid free at 8 months post op. The sleeve can initiate acid reflux in some people. I hope you are on a PPI, acid reducer. If not, call your surgeon. Good luck!

    Gallstones

I had to have my gallbladder out many years ago, prior to even knowing anything about WLS. I was slim at the time. I had horrible, sharp, stabbing type pains in my right abdominal side. These pains were getting worse and stronger. An X-ray revealed a huge stone in my gallbladder. I had my gallbladder removed ASAP, as I was then travelling a lot, internationally, and I was worried that if the stone moves, it could obstruct my common bile duct, which at 35-40,000 ft in the air, in the middle of Pacific Ocean would not be a good thing to happen! I never had nausea or vomiting with it, just increasing pains, like being stabbed with a knife! Good luck!

    Do you miss food?

@@KaiserKid Congratulations, you finally are getting there after a long wait! Woohoo! I missed food during my liquid stage, I was always hungry then and had bad reflux which made my hunger worse, even on a PPI. Changed to a different PPI, that worked for me. Purees were better for me. Then Soft/Mushies and finally Solids. I did not miss food then, I was happy with small portions and much smaller grocery bills. Months 3-5 I lost my appetite and didn't miss anything. Months 6-7 appetite came back, hunger came back, drats. Still measuring my portions, still avoid foods that made me ill, still eat slowly ..... I slimed for the first time in month 8, as I ate too fast! Not a nice experience. I diligently followed my surgeon's and dietician's instructions, even though I found the first 2 weeks tough for me, but I did it with gritted teeth and clenched fists, and got through the liquid only phase! I watched YouTube videos on the surgery, I read and re-read all my instructions. I was so afraid of causing injury or a leak, that I never tested my sleeve. Now, if I could just take a tablet or 2 instead of food, I would. Not that interested in it at the moment, but I eat as per my instructions, because I get hungry. My stomach has healed. Best of Luck to you!!!
