Good luck @@mikaylag And hello from an ex-Sydney person, currently on the Gold Coast. My out of pocket expenses were $5,000 (with the top cover BUPA PHI) No regrets, almost 3 months post op soon. Cheers, Margo

When I felt like that, I was advised to increase my Proteins, have denser proteins, add Protein powder to my yoghurt, and to drink more Water. Eat my 1/2 cup allowance at regular times. I also had to get a stronger reflux med. This phase of extra hunger is gone for now, my appetite is lot less. All of the things I mentioned above helped me. MyFitnessPal helps with protein, carb, portion sizes and calorie count. My trusted 1/2 cup and 1 cup measuring utensils help me with portion sizes. Dense protein fills me up. Good luck

Weeks ago I stopped using Equal. Mainly because it can stimulate sweet cravings. Got used to Stevia, and now only use it for a sweetener, mainly in my coffee. My sugar cravings have stopped! My blood sugar levels are not roller-coasting anymore! Stevia is now my best friend in my weight loss journey

NUT: Up to 80g Protein, I average 50-70g, mostly 60g for me. 1/2 cup serving per meal Calories up to 800, but I average 500-600 per day, just not hungry much lately. I didn't pay attention to calories before, however MyFitnessPal lists my daily calories. Lots of Water Low carbs I try to stay away from sugar Just following my plan, diligent with portion servings and allowed food.

@ Come on, be Rude !!! Let the wrath come out ! It can do wonders with rude people. They get so shocked, that often they then avoid or stop their own bad behaviour. Let it all out girl "Better out than in" according to Shrek

@@pr_pitbullgrl In Australia we have legislations on work harassment, bullying and discrimination. All are under the Fair Works, Australian Government. And yes, HR is the formal first step. Otherwise, plenty of good come back now "I'm really not into men my father's age" ..... Love it

Well, so thin ... druggie ! Ad this ate his brain as well .... Plus that tapeworm ....
-
@ 52 going on 15 by the sounds of it ..... Could always ask him when his hair is going to grow back ..... aka "had a look in the mirror recently"? "had a Brain bypass recently" ???? etc etc You are doing great, taking control of your life, and some people just can't handle it, gotta feel sorry for them. However, if he keeps doing it, the rude remarks, notifying HR, supervisor, manager etc could be the correct way of dealing with it. Bullying and harassment is illegal, this includes rude remarks, commenting on another person's appearance with sarcasm and malice. Thinly veiling it as a "joke" etc. It is discrimination, which is also illegal. So, as much as it would be very satisfying to get back at him, it may backfire. Just simple: "If you keep harassing me in this way, I will have to report you to HR, manager, etc" Bullies are cowards, and have their own insecurities. A formal warning may just do the trick. Good luck!

How is his tapeworm going? Any loss of hair, or is he a young dumbass with IQ of 5 ? Does he have God complex, sitting in a judgement throne, entitled to judge others? What a total wanker! Agree, HR maybe needed, if this continues. Good luck!

What Has Been the Hardest Habit for You to Break?
OzRoo replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Pre op was the chocolate and Snicker Pods .... Now, chocolate makes me sick and I get bad reflux. I hope this will remain, however at 10 weeks post op I don't know if this will stay the same. So far, it is Ice-cream. I over-indulged for 3 evenings, and then freaked out how many empty calories it added to my daily total. Back on the wagon now. Have a little frozen yoghurt instead, if I want something sweet, and it does not create a binge for me. @@kat27641 I use teaspoon, and/or tiny fork. I put the utensils down between bites. I chew like mad, and take tiny bites. If I don't do that, I get reflux that even Nexium does not always fix. I also try to eat more regularly, so that I am not ravenous, and can eat slowly. Like LipstickLady, I also use small bowls and bread plate, and small containers to eat from -
102 lbs gone babeeee! Post-op GB 35 weeks
OzRoo replied to heather5565's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@heather5565 You look Fantastic!!! Well done, awesome, mega congratulations to you! Yes, you are an inspiration -
I had to add Benefibre to my drinks, plus was advised to get Osmolax. This combination worked for me, finally. Now, with high Protein meals, I have to do the same, otherwise nothing happens. Very early post op, some weird stuff came out, similar to your description .... alien stuff .... Water by itself did not help me. Good luck, it should get better!

I sound like a bath tub!
OzRoo replied to brittanylau's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I sound like that after I eat too fast, often accompanied with hiccups. Initially, I started this bath-tub sound (love the analogy), soon post surgery, accompanied with little burps as well. Stomach is still healing, healing soon post op, and healing further down the track. Reading posts from members, some have it years down the track .... This may/may not happen to me .... however I am not holding my breath. Time will tell ..... -
Finally seeing a difference! 3 months post-op

Hiccups..... sort of...?
OzRoo replied to eclecticwingtips's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Over 8 weeks, get hiccups when I eat too fast .... Also, I often get little burps as well .... I wonder if these ever go away, or as the other members said, that it warns us to slow down or eat different food that is more agreeable to the New Tummy ..... Actually, I am sneezing more too ..... -
@@csawesome Hugs and best wishes to you. So sorry to hear about your situation. There are some great posts here and advice. Yes, appetite goes down due to stress. It is tough enough without WLS, and so please look after yourself, hydrate and try to have your Proteins and Vitamins. 10 years ago I had a de-facto divorce, and it was a very stressful time for me. I had to get a lawyer, the legal/financial aspects dragged on for 9 months, and I had to get counselling. Lost lot of weight. Take care of yourself, get plenty of support, look after your thyroid, and one day it will be over. Hugs, Margo

Anyone have significant Pain 3 weeks out?
OzRoo replied to coler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@coler Gosh, I do hope this heals for you very soon! I am just over 8 weeks post op, but as I said, I did not have hernia repair. Perhaps post your question in another section as well, such as : http://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/429-gastric-sleeve-surgery-complications-support-group/ Good luck, Margo -
Anyone have significant Pain 3 weeks out?
OzRoo replied to coler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to hear that. Has the surgeon explained what exactly is causing this pain? Sure, people have different pain thresholds, but more important is the root cause of the pain. There are so many variables, the dangerous ones are: infection, leaks, and I hope that this is not your case! I never had a hernia repair, so I don't know much about it. Only gastric sleeve. I wish you a speedy recovery. -
I had my 100 questions thingy also .... plus 4 visits with my bariatric psychologist pre op. She even told me to call her if I had any issues during my hospital stay, and she would come and visit me. I have seen her once or twice post op, and will be seeing her once a month for few months, then possibly less frequently. My weight loss surgery clinic insists on both pre op and post op bariatric psychologist appointments. Actually, the clinic has team meetings all the time, to discuss the best option/care/treatment for any patient.

8 weeks post op, and I lost 28.6 Ibs (13 kgs) Had a stall in week 3-4, then started losing again. My few NSVs: I can cross my legs again, I fit into my few tops, my skirts are loser, and I can wear my favourite watch again. People started complimenting me I am starting to feel much, much better. Good luck with your surgery @@TamaraRae

Anyone have significant Pain 3 weeks out?
OzRoo replied to coler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you called your surgeon? Has your pain been constant, every day since your surgery or just came on? In any case, if it was happening to me, I would be on the phone to my surgeon ASAP! The only increasing pain I had was my worsening gastric reflux. I called my surgeon, saw him ASAP, and got a different script, the new med has been working well for me. Good luck, and please call your surgeon. -
I hiccup when I eat bit too fast, at times. My hiccups go on for a couple of minutes, then stop ... I also sneeze lot more these days, and I am blaming my thyroid condition for this, but perhaps it is the sleeve as well ?
