    I ate eggs!

I threw up my scrambled egg. Not game to try even poached yet, at 6 months post op.

    This is a TMI moment...

LOL, either way, a great NSV !
  3. I was at home, in Sydney, and I was supposed to be flying out to LA and New York later on that day. Instead, I ended up watching TV all day, and chatting with my friend on the phone, who was supposed to be on the trip with me. We were shocked, scared, tearful and very worried. It was a very emotional day and evening for us. The world changed that day! R.I.P all the innocent victims

    Night eating.

My NUT suggested adding a Protein powder to a drink at night, when I was still on liquids. I also found a hot chicken broth helpful. These days if I can't sleep, I have bit of yoghurt (Chobani greek yoghurt is high protein), cottage cheese ..... yes, I like it Or anything healthy that is protein. Still have chicken broth at times.
  5. @@doingitmyway I lost 64 Ib (29 kg). Probably would have lost bit more, but I was bit slack with my exercises lately. I gained 90 Ib (41 kg) in 2 years 2014-2016 partly due to my Graves Disease (hyper-thyroid) doing 180 degree turn, and mucking up my metabolism. I developed awful sweet and fatty foods cravings, so I had a massive, rapid weight gain. I would love to lose another 33 Ib. My weight loss has slowed down a bit when I hit 6 months post op. So, I am plodding along .....

    Vitamin Deficiencies?

I had full blood panel done pre-op, then 3 months post op, and another one 12 months post op (not there yet). No deficiencies, all perfect at 3 months post op (June 2016). Yes, diligently been taking Bariatric Vitamins with B12 in a spray, plus Calcium. At 4-5 months post op I went back to my regular Multivitamin, still take Calcium, B12 spray and added vit C. I feel good, my hair is good, no hair loss, skin is healthy too. My face is glowing, just have bit of a loose skin in my upper arms.
  7. Prior my sleeve, I rarely had heartburn. Post op I had it really bad, and the Rabeprazole I was given did not help me. My reflux was getting worse, so I asked for Nexium (Esomeprazole) script, and this fixed it. I am now 6 months post op, and the reflux is gone. I am taking Nexium now every 4-5 days (instead of daily), and will go off it soon. Good luck.

    12 weeks and feeling great

Congratulations! You look gorgeous and awesome, and yes sooooooo much younger! Well done! Look forward to your update at 6 months
  9. Few days ago I had another appointment with my Endo. Last time I saw her was in May. She looked around the waiting room, then said ? Margo ? She said she didn't recognise me, and that I looked great, and congratulated me She also reduced my med to 1/2 of the original dose.
  10. @@Sweettee23 Wow, what an amazing transformation! Congratulations, you look fabulous! Well done! And thank you for saying not beat ourselves up, that we are human, and make mistakes. I fell off the wagon few times, but always get back on it again

    Acid reflux?

Ask your surgeon. Are you on any acid reducers/PPIs ? I was given Rabeprazole post op, and it did not work well for me. My reflux was getting worse and worse. I asked for Nexium script, and this worked wonders for me. 6 months later I am free of reflux, and weaning myself slowly of Nexium. It is important to sip slowly, eat slowly, chew really well and to stay away from acidic foods/drinks. I had to stop tomato/V8 juice, but coffee was OK with me. I also did not tolerate beef. Good luck!
  12. @@LisaMergs Thank you! All the hard work is paying off! My Endo did not recognise me few days ago, LOL. Very thankful to WLS for having a slimmer body and a younger face
  13. You look great! Years younger! Congratulations! I am 6 months post op, and posted my pics. Weight loss is a natural face lift and a spirit lift
  14. @@proudgrammy I love your responses
  15. @@Christy5913 Awesome Result! Wow, look at you, what a beautiful transformation. So now it is my time to congratulate you. You look gorgeous, and yes, the weight loss took years of your face Well done!
  16. @@Christy5913 Thank you! Yes, it is amazing what obesity does to the face. I really felt deformed and looked so much older. I had to see my Endo yesterday, and she did not recognise me! Last time she saw me was in May, and I have lost significant amount since then. She told me I looked great You're doing great too, and so we just keep going on this journey, one day at a time. And with time the results get better and better. I still have to lose more, and I am finding that at 6 months my weight loss is slowing down a bit, but it still happens. So, we are both work in progress, and I wish both of us gold medals at the finish line!
  17. @ All those fears and feelings are normal. It is a big decision, and a major operation, so feeling anxious is a natural response. I was so excited at first, when I was approved, as I was lower BMI. Then got frustrated as I was diagnosed with an auto-immune thyroid disease, and was told by my surgeon to come back once my thyroid got stabilised. Well, 9 months later I was finally scheduled for surgery. My excitement turned into major anxiety and fears. I even worried that I had to be in the hospital for3 days, and how I would cope with that. I worried that something could go wrong, I worried that this was irreversible and I worried how I will survive on 2 weeks liquids post op. I had few surgeries in the past, and I never worried prior to them. So I was surprised that I got so anxious with the sleeve op. All those worries did not materialise. I was fine! Yes, some pain post op, but was given good pain killers. I survived the 2 weeks on liquids only. I had pretty bad acid reflux post op, switched to Nexium and now 6 months later my reflux is gone. My stomach is getting quieter, doesn't gurgle so much, I eat healthy food and keep losing weight. So, best of luck to you and remember that all those pre-op anxieties and fears are just part of a process, and they go away.
  18. @@Jane1979 Hey, no worries. I nursed in the past, so I am used to the terminology
  19. @@Jane1979 No, the swallow test is usually Barium Meal, to ensure there are no leaks post op. Gastroscopy is done under anaesthetic, where they put an endoscope through your oesophagus and right down your stomach to check if everything is OK, or whether there is a hernia, and just to have a good look at your stomach before surgery. It is a day procedure, and it doesn't hurt.
  20. Good luck! Just one more sleep ..... Yes, great idea to have a list of questions written down, so nothing gets forgotten. After my first appointment, I had to have a full blood panel done, make apt with NUT, bariatric psychologist and Endo. Plus I was scheduled for Gastroscopy. Few hoops to jump through, but they were all worth it.
  21. Just awesome result! Well done! Good luck with the upcoming surgery. You did so well with this long pre-op diet, you will do great post op! All the best

    Mammogram issues!

Thanks for the info, I am due for one soon, so I will tell re weight loss, although 3 years ago I was normal weight. After my 2 year obesity problem, then losing lot of weight, my boobs are definitely flatter. I hate that waffle Iron too! They squeeze so much, and when I think my boobs can't be squeezed anymore, yep, they get squeezed more. So painful!
