Do any of you vets completely ignore this rule?
OzRoo replied to tenseintexas's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
OP wanted Vets experiences and opinions. Vets have been around for a long time and have wealth of knowledge and experiences to share. I wouldn't dream of suggesting to someone what to do, if I have not experienced it first myself. At 7 months post op I am not a vet, but I have experienced a lot, and keep going through the process of recovery, and I am happy to share my experiences, my ups and downs, struggles and wins. Give support from My Own experiences. I see here on this thread, half of valuable space being taken out by multi-quotes ad nauseam, often repeated with no new comments attached. Let's keep this thread on track. Let the Vets keep sharing their experiences. -
@@KristenLe Hope you start feeling better soon! Are you taking Zofran wafers at all, or anything else for nausea? Perhaps someone can get you some electrolyte Water, so you won't get dehydrated! And as was suggested, keep bracing your tummy, with either a pillow or even your arms. Best Wishes to you!

How to put an image (photo) into a post?
OzRoo replied to WLSResources/ClothingExch's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I normally Right click on the photo, then click "save as" and save it on my desktop (easy to find). On BP, Click on the 2nd button "More Reply Options" Then, go below the box, and look for "Attach Files" Click on "Choose Files" Once image downloads, Click on "Add" to the post. You can first Preview, or just click "Add Reply" Good luck -
@@aussiecosy Yay! Welcome back! Congrats on your decision. All the best

What do you miss or think you will miss about being obese?
OzRoo replied to 111's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Nothing, Zero, Nada ! -
OK, time flies, and my 6 months post op are coming up in few days. I wrote a detailed 3 months post op journey, with all the great health changes and weight loss. I am still enjoying the great health changes, and my weight is still going down, albeit bit slower now. No more acid reflux for me, yay! Weaning myself off Nexium slowly, and so far so good. I want to show few photos, I have 2 lots of Befores, as I was slim prior to my massive, rapid weight gain in 2014-2016. So, here are a couple of me in 2009, and 2013 Then the 2014-2016 photos. I hate them, especially the one on the right. The weight gain aged me so much, and I felt deformed, my eyes became slits, big arms etc. I actually don't have a photo of myself at my heaviest (222 Ib), I refused to have photos taken by then, and couldn't look in the mirror. I put on 90.2 Ib in 2 years! And finally post WLS, at 3 months (left) and now (right). I will take some body shots soon and post these. For now, just face shots, but I feel like I had a natural face lift Starting to look normal again. Still have 22-30 Ib to go, but already the changes are great! Very happy with my sleeve!

At over 7 months, it is starting to be hard work ...... much longer stalls, don't lose as fast ...... The 19Ib (9 kg) left, starts to be a challenge. Stepping up exercise, still eat the same food and same portion size .... The honeymoon is definitely over ..... Now the drive to get to goal is stronger.

Half the Man I Used to Be (Literally)
OzRoo replied to Thucydides's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
@@Thucydides Mega Congratulations! Well Done !!! Half the man and double the healthy spunk! Woohoo -
I did sweat a lot, and I live in a very hot and humid climate. It was awful. Most of my sweating though was due to my hyper-active thyroid. After thyroid treatment and WLS, I am finally starting to feel cooler. I love it!

What to do when you a test for something sweet
OzRoo replied to baby girl pa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a slice of rock melon and water melon, with either Chobani yoghurt and vanilla essence and cinnamon, or bit of custard. This satisfies my sweet craving. I've learnt that I can't have a bit of ice-cream or even frozen yoghurt, as I then want more of those ..... At times, I have something salty instead, like chicken broth with a teaspoon of sesame oil, and this kills my sweet craving. -
I never tried it during puree stage, or even now. I was told by my dietician that the purees have to be runny enough to roll off the spoon. Perhaps if you mixed it with runny yoghurt and blasted it in the NutriBullet, it could possibly work. However, a good Protein powder added to Chobani yoghurt will give you about 35g for 1/2 cup serve.

Zofran is for nausea. When acid is coming back up the oesophagus and throat, this calls for a strong PPI, but always check with your doctor/surgeon first.

I HAVE NO FRIENDS! (Sad face!)
OzRoo replied to Diva Taunia's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
?? Do you have to be on a computer to see that? I've only used my phone with this application and now I think maybe I'm Missing a lot of features, eh? Sent from my LGLS992 using the BariatricPal App Me too...I don't see that option Sent from my SCH-S968C using the BariatricPal App You are both right! I just went on my phone and used the app, and I could not find it either! I could not see it on the profile , and could not find any sections for adding a friend ...... I use my computer more than the app, so I gave you computer tips. There is a section on BP for technical support, perhaps you can ask there, or Ask re adding Friends on the app on your Status Update. Or, tag Alex and ask him. Let us know what to do, as there must be quite a few members who mainly use the app, and come across this. Good luck! -
Just give them Fugu fish, it will eat the crap out of any carp ......

Yes, I am finding Goggle and YouTube playing up often these days. Google owns YouTube, and it is tad annoying when both don't work at times. Google just had a new version/update recently, and since then some issues have come up ..... I tried these sites both on my Mac and PC, and iPad, and the result was the same ..... stuff ups!

What Is Your Beverage of Choice?
OzRoo replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
At 7 months post op, I love plain Water with little diet lemonade added to it (apple juice as an add on is too acidic for me), green tea, and coffee. I am really happy to be able to guzzle water now -
