    It's really happening...

Best wishes on your weight loss journey. You've got this. I also told no one but my husband, and four years later he's still the only one outside my medical team that knows. I am still below my original goal and feel WLS was one of the best decisions I've made. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App

I moved away from the Farmington area last year. Unfortunately the only support group I ever found was in Albuquerque. Good luck. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App

    Worried About Pain Meds

I felt more of a soreness from the surgery itself. For me the gas pains were worse..walking helps them. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App

    OJ

My plan did not permit at your stage. As others have stated too much sugar, acid, and calories. Check with your nutritionist to see what they say for your plan. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App

    Fruit

Most nutrition programs do not allow fruit until much further out due to the sugar content and the seeds and peelings. This is an individual plan call so please check with your surgeon's office before proceeding. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App

    40 bmi

My insurance BCBS went by my original weight and required a 10% weight loss during 6 months doctor visits. All insurances have different requirements so check your coverage. Best wishes. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App

    September Sleevers!

Hmm.. soup is a good idea. It's hard especially this early in the game since we are so restricted. Will you still be on clears? Maybe just sip tea and tell her you don't feel well because of nerves. If your diet allows the eggs I would just go for it. It's so weird how every surgeon has a different diet to follow. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App @@Smashley23 good advice. It is difficult to eat out with others who are unaware of your surgery. My hubby is the only one who knows about mine. Interview nerves sounds like a wonderful excuse. Good luck on your journey. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App
  11. A lot of women who are on the pill have to stop taking it a couple of weeks before surgery so this can alter your period. And what has been mentioned before pre-surgery diet and emotions can also change timing. Hospital staff are used to it, so don't worry. Best wishes in your journey. BCBS 6 month process...month 2 preop

My surgeon's office scheduled all my visits for me so I was able to move through the process much faster than if I had to make them myself. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App

    What's next?

Mine was post-surgery food progressions, and very much focused on reading food labels--what to look for, what to avoid. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App

It absolutely makes NO freaking sense to me... **MY RANT**

It's like the mindset that everyone has to have a trophy for just showing up. Instead of winning. Giving it your all with the best of your talent is wonderful, and we are all good at different things. But to feel we must be rewarded for everything and unaccountable for little is nuts. My rant. Weight regain 42%?

I am 4 years post surgery and was very fortunate to have my honeymoon period last about 2 years. I became lax in my food, Protein and carb levels, stopped weighing, but was lucky that I continued losing up to then. On my next annual check up I had gained 35#. Took several months and have lost 45# -- 10# below goal. I now have a Bariatric buddy, we check our food logs every night and weigh weekly to stay on track. It took 8 months to lose that 45# and I DO NOT want to do that again. Moral: yes you can gain weight and use your honeymoon period wisely. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App
  20. My surgery center did not require a loss, but my insurance company required 25#. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App

Today, I hate being a woman.

Sorry to say but it does end with menopause ending and some medication. At least on my part. I agree-PMS, hysterectomy, perimenopause, menopause. Bawling like 10 babies or enough irritability to lift a house. Taking a SSRI med is what has absolutely saved my sanity (and also hubs). Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App
  23. @@VSGAnn2014 For these same reasons only my hubby knows and I have sworn him to secrecy. We live several states away from family and only see them a couple of times per year so that has helped. Persons I encounter now have never known me as a larger person so it's a non-issue even four years out. Sent from my XT1096 using the BariatricPal App
