    Looking for support

Hi, I am 22 months out and my cravings and bad habits came back at around 15 months out. I slowly started trying different foods and adding in bad food. I stopped logging my food, drinking my water, got lazy taking my vitamins and medication. By November first I realized how far off track I had gotten and I stepped on the scale for the first time in months. I had a 30lb regain, which crushed me. I changed some things and got rid of the bad food in the house and went back to basics. I struggle a bit through Thanksgiving and vacation after that but I managed to drop 14lbs. While I was happy about this, I knew I needed to really deal with my emotional eating habits. The first year was easy because I had no cravings. I really believed that I had it under control but I did not. I now realized that this is where the hard work starts. I started reading a book called Never Binge again which has helped me immensely...enough that I now know that I can hit my goal weight this year and that I have a plan and processes in place to help me when I am tempted. I purchased an inspirational food journal that helps me in the sense that it not just focused on food intake and macros. It's more about having a healthy outlook, mind and body. I had joined several bariatric groups on FB but I did not participate much. Now I spend a part of my morning in those groups communicating with various people. I also started a blog, which is terrifying, to be as transparent to myself as possible and also hold myself accountable for my food decisions, good or bad. We can do this...we just never give up and keep going when we have a set back. You can never fail unless you quit.

    Bypass or Sleeve???

I wanted the sleeve because the bypass scared me. I had the bypass because my surgeon said it was the best option for me and I would lose the most weight. I heard of people getting the sleeve and then having the revision later if they did not lose enough weight. I was having none of that. One surgery only for me, lol. I am so happy with my decision. I have not had any complications and my recovery was a breeze. I know several people who had the sleeve and wish they did the bypass. Bypass 3/27/17 Starting weight 395 Surgery weight 341 Current weight. 255 Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. I am right there with you. I have been snacking and eating more than I should. I know a big part of my problem is prepping and planning. I have put myself on a new regimen. A protein shake within 30 mins of waking up and then Zumba 20 mins after drinking. It's been going well and I feel more in control during the day. I will email my doctor for a referral to therapy since I feel that I need some extra help to stay on track. You are not alone. Keep trying and fighting for it. You never fail unless you quit. 6. I am 5 months out and I eat in about 10-15 minutes. I wait 5 mins to see how I'm feeling and then if I'm not full eat for another 5-10 minutes. Usually I'm full though.

    3 month stall?

Hi. I had my bypass 3/27 and I was stalled for about a month until it finally broke today. My nut put me on a 900-1000 calorie diet, at least 64 oz of water a day. I get in about 70-80 grams of protein a day. I try to get I. At least 20grams per meal. Are you logging your food? Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app

    Looking for March surgery buddies!

Haven't been on in a while but I am doing well! I hot my first goal this morning and I am finally under 300lbs. I am so happy I made the decision to do the surgery. It is hard work and the struggle is real at times but it is sloop worth it! How are you?
  10. I started watching 600lb life and seeing some of my own bad habits woke me up to the fact that this was my future if I did not take some action. I still watch it now I think as a reminder to keep on track because this is what the alternative is. I have also caught myself looking at how my close friends and family eat and sort of judging them on their bad food choices. I REALLY have to work on that because I don't won't to be that person. You know, the new skinny girl that is Ms. Super-know-it-all about weight loss and fitness. I can't be her, lol
  11. It took 5 days for me to have BM after surgery. The first couple of days I dont think I was eating enough to have a BM. My doctor prescribed stool softeners and I started taking them my second night home. Sent from my SM-G920V using BariatricPal mobile app

Congratulations! It's amazing isn't it? I remember when I first started last year and how long I had to wait. Now I feel like time just sped by me. Surgery on Monday and I can believe it's finally happening.
