Hi Junies! Hope you all had a good weekend. I had a surprise call from my sis yesterday who said all of us (all 8 sibs) are going to surprise our mom and just show up today and take her out for lunch. This was prompted by my one brother being in town who lives in new hampshire. The rest of us are midwesterners. So I had to interrupt my moving into my apartment to run up and spend the day with family. It was great fun and everyone noticed I am losing weight. Of course they asked and I just said portion control. One sis knows and she is keeping the secret, who knows I might tell some day but theres too much opinionation (new word?) in my family. It was great to see them all. Last time we were all together was my dads funeral. This was much more fun. And I will get moved in soon enough.... Congrats to all you wonderlanders! We have a large goodwill store where I live and I keep meaning to get there to do some shopping but I haven't had time yet. Now that I am living in town, I could go after work some evening. Right now I am spending money on my apartment....got a new digital TV, TV stand, nice knife set and curtains and stuff. Its starting to look cozy. Well, I am off to unpack a few more boxes and then get to bed. Hope you all have a great week!

Hi Junies, Its good to read about how well you all are doing. I just updated my ticker and I have lost 5 lbs in the last month!:tt2: Don't know when or where but they are gone! I rarely drop more than 1 at a time, but a few got by me this time. But am I complaining??? HA! I am off work tomorrow, gonna spend the day moving my furniture to an apartment in town closer to work. That should be a good workout for me. Gonna be cold too!!! I have been busy every night this week packing boxes and haven't been to the gym. I plan to hit that again once I am settled. I am so inspired by all you in wonderland. I missed that milestone as I got to that during the liquid pre op. stage. But I am about halfway to my goal in 7 months so I am jazzed about that. Hope you all have a great day and anyone in the neighborhood feel free to come help me move. Bring your own truck!:tt2:

Hi Junies, Sounds like we are all doing great! I am going to see my girls this weekend for Vday. Soon as I get done working this afternoon, I am heading north to stay with my older daughter. We will probably do some shopping. She has a new apartment and we are going to shop for curtains and other home stuff. We will probably go out to eat and I will treat my girls. Did I mention that I just found an apartment near where I work and will be moving to town in the next few weeks? Did I mention that I hate moving? Did I mention that I am NEVER moving again??? (I say that every time...) So anyway, there is some more exercise for me. The apartment (townhouse) is on three levels so I will have plenty of stairs to deal with. The good thing is, 6 months ago, my knees would have said NO, do not get that apartment. Now I can do the stairs without problems. Have a good weekend Junies!

Hi Junies, I survived! Musta been a flu bug. I am sore but I think thats from the workout so thats OK. I had nothing but some chicken broth yesterday and slept from 3pm till about 8 this morning! My stomach is no longer queasy and I dropped 4 lbs!!!! Hellofaway to do it but I am happy. Gonna take it easy today but I think I am over it. Have a great sunday, all.

Hi Junies, OK this is what NOT to do. I was running late this morning, so I skipped breakfast. Had to meet my trainer for my first workout with him. I took a bottle of water and he put me thru the motions. And he pushed! I was shaking like jello! lol And close to the end of the workout, i got very nausous and had to run and throw up. It was just water, but I learned we CAN throw up everything, at least water. Up to this point, I have only had a few 'slimers' but never could throw up anything from the bottom of my stomach. Well today I did! Sorry if this is TMI. Had to go to work after that, but i shut myself in the office and did paperwork. Could not see clients feeling like this. I had run to the bathroom 3x now and upchucked a bellyfull each time! Shakey, queasy, dizzy. Wonder whats going on? And I dont dare drink anymore right now. And food...fergit it! Maybe I can sleep it off this afternoon. Whew! never felt like this before.

Allie, I use that website and it is great. You can also post your before and after pics side by side there and see how far you have come. I met with my trainer last nite (eye candy...wooooo!) but of course hes my son's age....he did a computer thing to help me set up goals, etc. Had a part where they took my health hx and family hx and guess what.......he computed my "health age" as 68! Dayam! I am 57 and thats bad enough! And everyone has always told me I look way younger than that. What a bummer. It was my fam hx of breast cancer and heart probs (mom) that jacked my score up there. Long, go and enjoy that party and strut your stuff! You will be a knock out. My goal is to get my hair done when I hit the 50 lb mark. Since I have been working out, I gained 2 lbs back so now I need to lose 10 before I can get my hair cut and colored. Livin, you are wasting away!! go girl! You are looking great! Have a great day, Junies. I am off to do my taxes!
-
Wow Lucy, I don't know if I can ever run again. Or jog. But I can walk for a long time! It looks like we are about at the same place...about half way to goal. I am glad you like your trainer. I just met mine yesterday and he's a young kid, probably my son's age lol Gonna be interesting working with him. I think all he does is train me to use the equipment and then I am on my own unless I have questions. Keep us posted on how its going for you.

Hi Junies, hope everyone is doing well. Its Superbowl Sunday and we have been grazing all day...good thing my band wont let me eat a lot of anything! I joined a fitness center yesterday!!!! Some really nice eye candy hanging out around there...I don't think it will be painful at all to go work out there lol. Tues I go for my first meeting with trainer (I get 2 appts with trainer and can ask anyone any questions I want after that). Going to get weighed, measured, get a baseline on my abilities, etc. I took my measurements and new pics and put them on realize website but i am disappointed that i dont look much different. That even motivates me tho, because after working out, I think by next month, I will see a difference in my shape. Congtats on all you 100 lb losers, you are really winners!!:cheated: I am at about the half way mark to my goal so mine will go slower now...It's ALREADY been slow!!:tongue2: But I think the exercise will help keep the momentum going. Gotta stay positive...it might be coming off slow, but it is coming off and I haven't gained any back!! If you watch the superbowl, hope your team wins today!

Congrats Long and Teach! Wonderland is wonderful!! Allie, I bet that stomach bug will get you running (no pun intended) right past 100! You guys are an inspiration to me. I finally broke my barrier of 180 and am now in the 170's! I keep jumping on the scale to see if its still true! I sooo need to start exercising, I have not done much of that other than daily activities and I walk a lot at work. I need to be cloned so I will have time for exercising. My legs are firmed up but i just hate that feeling of my skin on my back jiggling when I walk. ewwwww We are having snow and ice here too but I made it to work ok. Going home tonite might be tricky tho and more snow coming tomorrow. Will spring ever come?? Keep up the good work junies, I am so happy for all of you! Anyone heard from Cathychatts?

Some of you are soooo close to wonderland! I have been reading and cheering you on! I passed the 40 mark the other day and I want to lose 40 more. My original goal was to lose 100 but now I am thinking that will make me underweight. Ha, what a thought! Anyways I am revising my goal to lose 40 more. My immediate goal is to lose 9 more to hit the 50 mark. Then I am pampering myself to a hair do-over. Color, cut different style..( don't even know what I want but dang, this cold weather has made my hair so dry and full of static and FLAT. Yuk! We are in for a wintery mix of ice and snow starting tomorrow to wednesday. Its snowing lightly now. I dont have to go out today so thats ok, I just like to watch it snow. But it might be tricky getting to work the next few days. Anyone remember how nice the weather was in june when we got banded? I remember HOT then but I had other things on my mind then!:w00t: like when can i get out of the mushie stage!!!

Hi Junies, I have been lurking for a while but not posting. Been real busy at work and thats stressful. I worked all weekend but had friday off and will be off tomorrow. Weight loss continues to be at a snails pace but at least I am not gaining. I had a major confrontation with roast beef today for lunch and spend a half hour sliming into the toilet!:huh2: Of course I was at work and really hoping no one would come into the bathroom! So tonite I am gonna take it easy with soup. I go get a fill tuesday and am looking forward to that, but dang, I need to slow down! I got some restriction but get too hungry and then I eat too fast. this is only the 2nd time its happened but its something to remember!! Hope you Junies are all staying warm and some of you are enjoying vacations. Wish I had one! One good thing, I just found out an online group that I belong to is having their annual reunion really close to where I live this year. I wasn't going to go due to the money situation but now I think I will since its so close. Now I have some motivation to drop even more lbs before this happens in June. Wonder if some of then won't recognize me, hehehe. I haven't told anyone so those whom I have met will be expecting me to look 40 lbs or more heavier than I do! Can't wait!!
-
Awww Allie, I can so sympathize. I also got cut out of the blue. It was a 6,000 cut for me and that sure hurts. The economy is so bad anymore, seems like we hear stories about this every day. I sure hope things improve soon. Hope your profit sharing helps.

Strike: what about a pair black boots that come to just under the knee. I love that look and it never goes out of style. Just a thought Livin, thats a great idea! I will have to check that out next time I go shoe shoppin'. Usually, tho, my calves are too big to get high boots on. But I do like that look and maybe now they will fit. Welcome back, Allie. Hope all you Junies have had a great holiday. Now its time for me at least to buckle down and get back on track. I didn't do too badly tho, I even lost another lb the other day. Soooooon I can say I lost 40! My next goal is to get to the 50 lb lost mark. My treat for when that happens is to go get my hair frosted and pampered with a new do! I am shooting for Valentines day for that. I go for another fill on the 20th, maybe that will help me cut back just a tad more. Luv ya, Junies!

Long, I went out to do some shopping today and bought something totally different! A dress!!! I don't think I even own one! But heres the problem...for so long, I have been wearing frumpy ol lady stretch pants, I dont know how to wear anything stylish. I am a style moron! Help!!! This is a short sleeved knit dress, loose, not clingy thank God, and knee length. So what do I do with it? At one time, I would have put leggings under it but I dont think thats 'in' now. Should I wear dark nylons and dressy shoes? Its a soft grey color and its cute, but I am not sure if I want to bare my pasty white legs just yet! It is too long to pretend its just a long sweater and wear it with jeans. Any ideas, girls?? Maybe I should ask my kids, they can style me up like no one else can! lol:confused_smile:

Long, Apples, Isn't it great to have the ol girls perk up again! Even after I got mine surgically lifted and reduced 5 years ago, they are starting to go south again. Not nearly as bad, but wow, that bra really puts em back up here! People at work probably think its strange that one day the girls are real perky and other days when I wear my other bras, they seem to disappear!:wink2: So glad you found one on sale, Long! They are sure not cheap. Wish I could take some time off work to go for some after Christmas sales. But then, I hate to put out that much for a bra that hopefully will be too big!I am holding steady thruout the holidays...but will sure be glad when new years is over and we can get back to normal. I need to buckle down and drink more water and start paying more attention to what I am eating. Hope you all had a great Christmas and will have a good new year.
-
Long, the biggest sizes I know of that they have at VS is 38D. I am in 38C now and before I couldnt fit in anything they had! Maybe you will find a nice sales lady there this time. I always look for an older person but seems like they like to hire tiny little young things! Hope you can overlook any bad service and just find something that will make you feel good about yourself. I have been busy doing my yearly cookie baking. Being pretty good about not eating all I bake but I do have to taste a bit as I go. Its all going to go away, to neighbors, coworkers and my family when I see them. The trick is to get them wrapped and out of sight before I get tempted.
-
Hi Junies! I went out and got myself a Christmas present today. I went to Victoria's Secret and got myself one of their Imex bras. Its wonderful!!! Ever since I had breast reduction about 5 years ago, i have only been able to wear sports bras which make ya flat. Not what I wanted and I can finally get into their sizes so I got one. Guess what! I got two girls now instead of one innertube!! BF is happy! The bra is expensive but I think I will start saving so I can get a few more. Cold front is coming in tonite with temps in the teens and wind chills below zero so I am curling up with my sewing and staying home tomorrow. Hope all the Junies are having fun and getting ready for the holidays!

Way to go, Long!!!What a high to know that you beat out everyone else. All that hard work payed off for you. Happy shopping with all those winnings, just in time for christmas. I will email you my list....hehe. Good Job!
-
Way to go, Allie!!! I need to take my own advice, I am still fighting those 2 lbs. This morning they won! grrrrrrr but they will go soon. Have a great time on vacation. Looks like I am only getting weekends off and then only if I am caught up. I could sure use a better job, but at least I have one!
-
Awww Allie, it will come! I also jump up, get nekkid and pee, then weigh in, hoping to get to the 40 lb loss but I am still 2 lbs away from that. Have you tried to drink lots and lots of water to try and flush out that last lb? Maybe that will work. Hang in there! 90 lbs is a whole kid that you have lost! lol Think I have only lost the equivalent of a heavy toddler!
-
Hi Junies! Just got back from a fill, must be the 8th I think...I got another .5cc and hope this gets me back on track. I have not lost much in the last 6 weeks so now I am encouraged again. Cathy, I vote for the oven! It won't talk back, leave its sock laying around or watch football every saturday nite! I also have been divorced for wow! 20 years. I raised my three mostly on my own and they are wonderful. I am with a guy now who spoils me rotton and I kinda like that but I also have to have my independence. Doubt if I will ever grow up and settle down. Gotta work late tonite since I took off for the fill appt so take care Junies!

Happy 6 Mos Bandiversary, June-Bugs!
strikeuptheband replied to Great2BThin's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hi Junies, Wow! 6 months already! I have learned that I am a slow loser and thats ok. I am just now starting to see how loose my skin is...ewwww so I know I better find time for more exercise or things wont be pretty! I have learned that on rare occasions when I find myself in the fast food lane, a kids meal is even too much! I have learned that an occasional dinner out when I try to eat a regular serving, its waaay too much, but just eating more that one time usually shocks my system into dropping a pound or two. But I cant do that often of my body will be shocked and gain instead! I have learned that there are some really great folks on this forum and I am blessed to call them friends. You have been the encouragement I need to keep going some days. Love y'all Junies! -
Looking good, Allie! Its such a good feeling to be able to wear something in a smaller size that looks good! After my pigout at Ryans friday nite, today I am down 2 more lbs. go figure. To bad I can't count on that or I would be eating out every night! I am still going for another small fill this wednesday. Hope it won't be too much. I have been very lucky so far and haven't had any problems, just a few times when I ate too fast and it hurt my chest. Hate it when I do that! Does anyone else have problems setting goals? I am just taking what comes along, but I feel like if I say I will lose two more lbs to get to 180 by Christmas, I will set myself up to fail. If I dont say that and it happens, I will be happy. If it doesn't happen, I won't feel like I failed to make my goal. Am I a chicken or what? What are your thoughts on this? What works for you guys? Luv ya Junies....
