Hello everyone! My name is Tod Campbell and I had my surgury about 15 months ago. I have seen people on this site wondering if loosing a 100LBS is possible with the band. Well it is and I look forward to loosing my last 40 or so.:clap2: Anyway, I just wanted to give some encouragment to all of you as I have expereinced simular issues, stalls in weight loss or no weight loss, and even weeks when it said I gained a few. Stay with it! The great thing about the band is it keeps you on track. If you have slow periods just rededicate yourself and 15 months or more will pass and you will start to look good. Believe it or not, it seems that people are just starting to notice I'm loosing weight. Can you believe it took 100lBS. I'm recharged and focussed more than ever. I know I can loose the last 40lbs and so will you.

 Happy to report that in the last 8 months I have lost 69 lbs. When you get discouraged or have a stall in your weight loss, hang in their. I have refocused the last 2 weeks and have lost another 5 lbs. I went almost a month and a half and did not loose anything and it was so discouraging. Just remember to make better food choices and make your weight loss a fun experiance. The good thing about the band is it gets you through the difficult times. In the past, if I had a weight loss stall for more than a week I would go back to my old habits. The band helps keep me on track. :nervous

It seemed like I was so tired all of the time. I have had the band for about 5 months and lost about 50lbs but still lacking energy. The last two weeks I have been going to the gym and spending a minimum of 30 minuts on the tread-mill, and most of the time more. I have not weighed myself for the last two weeks but will do so this week. I do feel much better, less tired and I'm hoping that the increased time at the gym has also encouraged some additional weight loss.

You will, love the tread-mill. I have been watching the old t.v. while working out and this seems to help make the time pass. The other night I did a one hour weight/cardo class...they say it burns about 700 calories. I'm going again tonight. Thanks so much for the reply, that was really nice of you.

I stayed for one night and I am glad that I did. My wife Ann stayed with me and that made it much better. I think to have some time to recover and be monitered is a good thing. Thanks, Tod

I had a fill a week and a half ago. It seems tight and I am working with the band as the quantity of food that I can eat has been greatly reduced. Since the fill I notice when I take a nap or go to sleep, I find myslef waking up with food kind of caught in my throwt. Has anyone had this experiance?

Thanks. I will give my doctor a call and take care of this. Happy Holidays! Tod

I lost 7lbs since my last fill. I was frustrated because I had not lost much weight for a month, and then bammmm It came off. 7lbs in 7 days. Thank you all for those that gave me tips to jump start my loss, it really worked. I have a 10CC Vanguard bands and I am at 7.5cc and have great restriction now. I really feel like I'm learning to use my band and eat smaller portions of food. It has been 3 1/2 months since my surgury and I have lost almost 40lbs. For all those that have been impateint with your weight loss, hang in their because once you get the proper resriction you will loose weight. Although their have been days I have been frusterated and even wondered if I did the correct surgery, I now feel that their is nothing that can stop me now. I lost weight over Thanksgiving and am confident that I will do well throughout the rest of the holiday season.

My doctor is less conservitive then most, from what I can tell, as he is a bit more agresive, wanting to get you filled quickly. You may ask your doctor if he could be a bit more agresive on your first fill? I supose your doctor will have his own ideas as to what is best, and because of this.. you will likely have to go with his intinks. Take care.

Hello - My name is Tod Campbell and I have not lost any weight in the last 4 weeks. I was not frustraitied untill this morning, when I asked myself how long this stall could last. I still have over 120lbs to loose and have been banded for 3 1/2 months. I am at 8cc on my 10cc vanguard band and feel fair resriction. I am to go in Monday for another fill, but I don't know that I need it but probably will go ahead anyway becuase I'm not loosing any weight. Any suggestions to get the weight loss comming off again?
-
Excersise...yup could do more of that for sure!

I feel like I am doing so well in many respects, but have not lost for over 4 weeks. I feel like I have fair resriction with 8cc in my 10cc Vanguard band. I am going in monday for another fill, but honestly do not feel like I am eating to much. Any ideas to jump start my weight loss?
-
The fist fill is a good reminder to help you stay focused on eating well and in smaller portions. You will want to test the band to determine the restriction you may be experiancing; Be carful though, as you do not want to get sick. You may or may not loose weight after your first fill, as it can take many fills untill you get to the sweet spot. Just make sure you plan a follow up visit within the next month of your fill so you can go back if needed. (your doctor should automatically do this.) It may be that your first fill will be the one that gives you the restriction you need, but if it is not, do not get discouraged, it's just part of the process. I have had four fills and do feel restriction, but feel I need more so I am going back on Monday. I have 8cc in a 10cc vanguard band. If you have a large band like this you will likely have a first fill of 3cc or more. Take Care, Tod

Hello Everyone - My name is Tod Campbell, and new to this site. I had my surgury performed by Dr. Milton Owens at Alvarado Hospital. He is a very repected and well known doctor who believes in doing fills quickly until he gets it right to avoid the frustration some may go through from not feeling much restriction. I have a 10cc Vangaurd band and had my first 3cc fill 3 weeks after surgery. A week latter I had another, and two more since then, totaling 4 fills. I am now at 8cc. I have lost about 28lbs. Anyone with this kind of experiance?
-
I understand, as I too have been stalled for several weeks and I know I am eating smaller portions. I am going to the gym today. In my mind I'm trying not to get discouraged because I know that if I am eating less I will eventually loose weight. I have had other times when I had no loss for a few weeks and then pow...down 6 or 7. Focus on eating the right things and it will all work out.
-
Yes - maybee you are right. does being satisfied mean simply that you are no longer hungry, thus you are full? Thanks!
-
It is strange...I do not feel full yet, I just know when I eat to much as the food comes up. I try to avoid this. It would be nice to feel full. Do you think I will or just become aware of how much I can and can not eat without becoming sick?
