What if BMI falls >40 on pre-op diet?
Melonymous replied to Melonymous's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Got an answer. Can't fall below the 40. They will weigh me right before surgery. I told my surgeon about my concern and he said he would only have me do a few days pre op diet so that I wouldn't lose too much. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I know I can ask this of my surgeon tomorrow but wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Hi, I am new here. I am pre-op, and pretty sure the sleeve is the way we are going soon. I have my consult next week. I have a couple of questions: Soda/carbonated beverages/beer: never again? Low carb diet forever? No caffeine forever? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have no co-morbidities, surprisingly. But yeah, I don't have the waiting period. Good point though about the approval- that should come before the pre-op diet, making it a non issue. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
No advice, but I am in the same boat. There is just never a good time I am afraid. I travel a lot for work, and we vacation a lot through the summer. I am desperately trying to coordinate and schedule for when I can have 4 free weeks to recover......without waiting forever! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks. Just what I was looking for. I have a close friend with RNY so her directions are different from what I am facing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

You say "pouch", so you had RNY? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I've yet to fully tell my husband... don't feel like hearing" Extreme measures "for failure speech... again... so I truly understand the hesistation... Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G530AZ using the BariatricPal App I hear you. I was really afraid how my husband would react. I was pleasantly surprised when he saw I was serious. I had brought up the subject before casually and met with disdain. Maybe somehow now he realizes how much I have had it with this struggle. I am hoping that I will be the catalyst for HIM to get WLS too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
