  1. For some reason I'm not liking the protein shakes. My mother recommend Ensure and why what a difference. I'm not sure what's going on with my taste buds but since the surgery they have change substantial. But as for the Ensure it is pack with vitamins and minerals and it taste very good.
  2. Thank u! I think I'm trying too hard and over thinking it at times. I just want to do everything perfectly lol I know that sounds stupid Mrs. Hollis
  3. Your thinking too much into it. Your going to drive yourself crazy. You should have a nutritionist who broke all this down for you. If not speak with your surgeon so he/she can offer you a plan. I simply write down everything that I consume. We should be eating 6 small meals a day. When I prepare my meals and began to eat. I make sure I eat the protein first. I may have a chicken breast and will only eat half. That is cooked on the George Forman grill or baked in the oven or grill. Once a month it's fried. I do this at the beginning of every month. It's my treat. As for the sides I generally get a spoon full or two. Also the smallest plate in the house. I'm not much of a water girl so my drinks I dilute with plenty of water. I'm working on the water but I will not stress over that. I walk 4/5 miles a day and do P90x. My surgeon wants me to join a gym but I opt not to. Have a dialog with your surgeon and your nutritionist to find what works for you.
  4. When I have that experience I get up and walk. This helps the food to move. Once I sit back down I remind myself to chew chew chew. And this helps alot

    Post Op

I slept pretty much on my side. I put a pillow under my stomach and it helped a lot.
  6. Keep your head up it will all work out in the end!!! Keep us posted on your progress and I will surely keep you in prayer. Praying for swift recovery
  7. CutieK don't feel bad. I was right were you are. It will get better. Remember for years we have been able to consume anything without restrictions but once someone puts restrictions on us. We want to kick the doors open and be normal. This is a process and it doesn't happen overnight. Just know to take it one second of the day and trust me I'm 5 weeks in and I'm feeling a little normal. I can eat more things and even started eating more veggie burger and fine them very good. Learn the new you and embrace who you are. A new you ????
  8. Same here for me. Just stay at it it don't happen over night. Don't stress yourself over it either. Just make a mental note and try it again tomorrow. It's funny because before the surgery I had to drink warm water (room Temperature) but afterwards I need ice in everything. Not sure what that's about but try different ways
  9. Please please please BECAREFUL KristelLe. If your not at that point you will do nothing but make yourself sick. You had a major surgery done and your body needs time to heal trust me. As for puree make your own. Do not do not do scrambled eggs. The eggs will get stuck and you will keep volmiting until it is all out. Been there done that. G t your favorite fruits and sautéed them and put them in jars for you too eat. Also make your own broth trust me I enjoyed it. I put a whole chicken in a pot of water with all my favorite veggies. After removing the chicken I allowed the veggies to cook until it was able to dissolve in my mouth. You can do the same with fish head. The flavor is amazing. Trying making your own and do what the doctor has told you too. I don't want to see you get sick ????

    Just got home

Yes that was the worst time for me but I can't express how important it is to walk. Walking will move that gas around and eventually you will pass gas and belch. Trust it's a great feeling. But walking is the key as for volmiting it happens and it is trial and error. Trust me you will be more aware of what your not ready for. Walk walk walk
  11. Wooooo Nelly slow it down. Your body is healing inside as well. Trust me I was just where you were and ended up back at the hospital. Take your time and ease into the running. It will happen but don't rush it.

Special K I'm not sure if you eat black eye peas but if you make your broth add some onions, carrots and boil the beans at a high temperature. Trust me I had the same problem. Those beans got everything moving and I make sure I eat some everyday just for that. Also a lot of water. I pray that this is helpful

    Surgery day!

Omg I was asking the same question. What are the robes for 600 pound people. After surgery I was walking and during that time I was able to get a glimpse of me from a mirror and I look increasingly large. So by the time I was being discharged and changed into my clothing. One of the nurse said you don't look like you needed the surgery. I guess not after seeing me for three days in those gowns. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

No problem. As far as walking. It will get easier. Put on your favorite music and put your earphones on and just do it. You will feel so much better afterwards

    6 days post-op and hungry

I am on day 7. My days fluctuate. But I've decided I'm not going to go backwards I'm going forwards. COMMERCIALS are the worst lol. I feel you pain trust me. But I prep for the day. I first get my Protein shake. I sip on that for at least 30 min to an hour. After the hour I then began with my liquids. Such as Water or juice which is low in sugar. I sip on that once I've allowed 30 min to go by. Then I have my low fat Jello next. And I go back and forth through out the day. This keeps me from wanting to snack. As you know you can only consume but so much. I've even made my own broth from chicken bones and veggies. Great flavor and no salt. I also boil a Granny Smith apple with some cinnamon. Then mix it in the vita mix. Excellent substitute for a snack. Find what works for you but you have to keep trying. And if the urge gets really bad I take a walk I'm currently cooking for my family Easter dinner and this is something new for me because I can't taste a thing. So I have to go by sight. So guys wish me luck for the holidays. Also they know they are to all eat together because I will be doing my three mile walk during that time. It's not easy but you it's well worth the small sacrifice Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
