I'm having a revision of band to sleeve. My cost to the surgeon is $2300. My insurance will cover one or the other, but not both. So, I'm paying the $2300 to remove the band and $0 for the sleeve. If you have been with your employer for a year or more, you may be eligible for FMLA. That would secure your job until you are able to return to work. Maybe you won't need more than a week. My surgeon told me to plan for 2-3 weeks. I think most people are taking 2 (from the ones I've talked too). Good luck to you both. I'll be watching for posts bandtosleever512 to see how you did. I've had my band for 10 years. I'm having a revision to a sleeve. I'm in the pre-op diet stage. I have Cigna and have to do the 89 days. I go back to the surgeon on April 18 to hopefully get a date. I've heard it's a little worse because there is more manipulation of the tissue. Some people have to have repairs to the esophagus, etc. I'm just hoping for no complications.
