  1. I'm new here. Just went for the video/information seminar at Tampa General. Not sure if I'm going to move forward with surgery. I'm here to learn what it's all about, and if I should move forward.

Welcome aboard. I remember my first seminar like it was yesterday. So much confusion in my mind at that moment. I joined here and began reading through the threads....most of them being the "just had surgery last week....how long before I can have pizza again". Imagine my confusion. I posted some....sort of felt my way around and really started reading the posts from the veterans.....seeing what their 2+year post op lives were like. One of them began coaching me on weight loss surgery and life in general. In a sense, I owe them my life.....my new life, at least, has been carved out with the guidance they provided. I know that my new sleeve and my new behaviors can be used for the remainder of my life. It will be a much longer life, now.....and full of wonderful experiences. I've done more living in this past month than I have in the ten+ years prior. WLS isn't a cure all.....but instead it is a most powerful tool that you can use to get rid of the excess fat you no longer desire....you can get lean and do so without struggling with fears of regain like we've all had with other "diets". I can enjoy any of the things I did before, in moderation and there are zero drawbacks that I've found as I approach my 6th month. Living, Loving and finding Happiness has been tremendous. Study long and hard. I urge you to get past the whining threads but to gain the insight from the 2+ year veterans. Best wishes to you.

Thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to write. :) I'm still not sure, but I will take your advice and keep reading. :) Thank you, again. :)

Please keep reading. I think you'll see that most of us have only one regret.....not doing our sleeves sooner. Take a look at the NSV threads....and the before & after pic threads.....contact the folks directly and hear their stories. Good stuff. Reassuring stuff. Best wishes for you.
