HW: 345SW: 335 CW: 238 Down 117 lbs so far. Lost 114 by NYE! GW: 180 (by my birthday on 8-12-17) I just discovered today that I'm down to a size 16 from a starting size of 28. I can wear a large or medium top (depending on the material). Feeling good, more energy, smaller clothes! Fit into my wedding dress after 26 years! Age 50 on the left, age 24 on the right! -

I was sleeved 3/14/16. Just had a follow up with my surgeon. Down 60lbs and 25% to goal. He said I'm right where I should be. I go back in 4 months. -

They're in the same family. Lupdema can lead to lymphadema. I don't have either. -

No lymphademia at all. My legs have gotten smaller because I can see it in my clothing. -

I'm 7 weeks post op and the scale hates me too. Doesn't matter what I do - it won't budge. I've adjusted my calories down, I've adjusted my carbs down, I've tried adjusting both up - makes no difference. I'm down 30 lbs but that number has moved in 2 weeks and it's frustrating! Not sure what else to do at this point. I eat between 700-900 calories and generally keep the carbs to 50-60. I also take in bwrween 70-90 in Protein. Any suggestions? - Anne

I was diagnosed with both PsA and RA. While the RA is considered mild, the PsA is severe. My sister has Lupus, so they're monitoring me closely to see if Lupus comes up in bloodwork. My joint pain is horrible. I had my biologic on 4/11/16 and it's starting to wear off already. Having osteoarthritis on my left knee doesn't help either. My insurance won't approve a new injectable for my knee so I have to try my last med that failed and hope it works now that I'm down 27lbs. Next week I call the rheumatologist to let him know that the biologic wore off too soon. He said if that happened he was going to readjust all of my meds. I'm on methotrexate, folic acid, dyclofenac twice a day, and 10mg of prednisone twice a day. My rheumatologist was behind this surgery 100% as well. He said less weight on my joints will definitely help with the meds working better. - Anne

I have Psoriatic Arthritis and RA and I'm on Remicade also. I had my last infusion before surgery on 2/1/16 (surgery was 3/14/16). I had to go off all of my RA meds th week before surgery. The week after, I begged my surgeon to let me go back on them because I couldn't walk or stand with a cane for more than a minute. I was able to go back on the RA meds on 3/23/16 but not on the Remicade until 4/11/16. The flare ups were really bad and I'm still in a lot of pain. I hit my first stall this past week. I'm down 27 lbs in 6 weeks (today is 6 weeks) and it's driving me crazy. My pants all require belts, so I know I'm losing inches, but I'm a numbers girl and want to see the scale go down. My biggest problem is exercising with my RA. I'm not cleared to swim yet (I live in Florida so it's nice and warm here) and walking is very painful. If I get in 5,000 steps I'm happy but usually I average 3,500. I know the lack of exercise is hindering some of my progress but the pain in my joints doesn't always want to cooperate. My PCP, rheumatologist, and orthopedist were all behind me 100% to do VSG. They all said the same thing - when it won't cure the disease, it will help with the joint pain. I hope you get to swim soon!! Did you notice any difficulties with your incisions healing? My surgeon is making me wait 8 weeks after my last infusion so my surgery will be June 9. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I still have one incision that hasn't healed - the one he removed my stomach through. All the others healed within 2 weeks. 8 weeks is about right. I waited 6 weeks. I was supposed to have an infusion 2 weeks before surgery and he wouldn't let me. He said it would interfere with the surgery and healing process.
