I was sleeved on Monday September 12th so of course I'm on a strict liquid diet this week. It is almost impossible to get my Protein in because the only thing I can have that contains protein are the Bariatric Advantage shakes mixed with Water or New whey Liquid Protein shots. Both make me physically sick when I try to drink them. I'm wondering how badly it'll effect me to not get all my protein until Tuesday? Because that's when I can start full liquids and can drink the normal Protein Shakes again! I'm nervous I'm going to mess everything up. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thank you!! That made me feel a thousand times better. I basically assumed that it wouldn't ruin everything but I needed at least one person to verify. And I did talk to my team and she basically said I need protein no matter what. Which I completely understand, I'm strictly just talking about this first week. We are on the same track then! My surgery is also Sept 12! The detox from carbs is what is killing me. I feel like I'm hung over. Dull headache and I can barely choke all of my shakes down. Hopefully tomorrow won't be this bad

It wasn't so bad for me, but I probably got lucky. Just stay away from food as much as you can. If your family is eating dinner, go to another room. Smelling good food makes it extremely hard when you're on a diet. The only pain you'll probably have is gas pains in your neck or shoulder. Walk as much as you can when you feel these pains. It really does help. When night time comes around, and you want to sleep, make sure you request Dilaudid if the Hydrocodone doesn't take the edge off. On the 2nd day, you may feel sore all over, like you've been working out. But it will go away. Once it passes, you'll realize that this surgery was easier than you expected. Thank you!! That made me feel so much more at ease. I really am excited!! I just wish these next two weeks would go by faster! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm mostly nervous about this preop diet and only because I don't want to be a moody monster lol but I'm also a little nervous about the post op of surgery. How much pain I'm going to be in, if any. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Does anyone else have Humana insurance? I'm worried about being approved. I am at the very very beginning of the sleeve process. Just turned in my patient info packet to my surgeons office. But currently, I am BMI 37.6 with no documented co-morbidities. I really want this surgery though any advice? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
