Finally seeing some progress
KristenLe replied to Kyn13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Kyn13 Great job! Keep it up! -
Telling coworkers and friends
KristenLe replied to CVanPelt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't tell them if you're not comfortable. You have already lost 40lbs pre-surgery - just go along as though you are eating healthy and exercising! That's the truth. -
Still stalled - and hungry. Where's the magic weight loss i was promised?
KristenLe replied to Seastars's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
At 6 weeks out - I'd be careful with having steak and bacon. -
@@deekel8 Try different temps - warm may feel better. I think it's just important you are sipping and getting all your fluids - you don't need to use cups. I'm pre-op but what you are feeling is normal from what I've read.
-
Are you drinking enough fluids? It could be dehydration. Try something with electrolytes or broth.
-
@@KimMcD3 Distract yourself - get away from the food, go for a walk, read a book, take a nap, color, paint your nails! Keep reminding yourself why you had surgery and how far you've come in 4 months! You can do this! Tell yourself NO (out loud) if you need to. Find healthy snacks so there's something available. When you get back from vacation - you should consider therapy with a counselor who works with emotional eating (I am pre-op and worked with one for 3 months). Good luck! Stay strong!

Got sleeved on 7/29
KristenLe replied to Justgotsleeved's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Justgotsleeved You can drink all day long - just take small sips. There's no waiting necessary until you're eating food. Walk to help with the discomfort. Be sure to take pain meds, anti nausea and your PPI if prescribed. Try using a heating pad. Also - many find it more comfortable sleeping in a recliner for a few days post-op. You will be grateful to have had surgery - especially when you're health improves! Stay strong! -
How long in hospital and off work?
KristenLe replied to quiltermom65's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm glad - good luck! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -
@@higher Be careful with Vitamins - make sure they're gluten free. My niece has Celiac's (severe) and couldn't figure out why she was getting sick - it was gluten in her Vitamin. Good luck with everything! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

HOW do you drink so much?!?!
KristenLe replied to jessjames's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It really makes a difference when you drink enough fluids. It can be broth, sugar free popsicles, tea. You won't always have it go right through you. Stay strong! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -
No pre-op diet for me either! Every Program is different! If you were supposed to do one - you would have been told! We're lucky! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

Good morning, Squad:
KristenLe replied to fatgirlsvelte's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Dr ordered PT today. Next will be injection into neck. Just anxious that nothing delays surgery in Sept! -
Your surgeon's bill is different than the hospital bill. The bill you received was probably just hospital charges. Outrageous isn't it?

Neck and Upper Back Pain after Surgery
KristenLe replied to blueeyedgirlvsg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It could also be from the way you are sleeping or sitting (even the way you carry yourself post-op). Hope it's better soon. -
Still stalled - and hungry. Where's the magic weight loss i was promised?
KristenLe replied to Seastars's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Seastars "Mostly hitting your water goal" may be the issue. You need even more than 64ozs a day if you are exercising. Try increasing your water and see if that helps. I imagine it is extremely frustrating - hang in there! -
Good morning, Squad:
KristenLe replied to fatgirlsvelte's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Hey @@fatgirlsvelte The waiting is my challenge right now - that and I have a pinched nerve in my neck so I'm miserable (and on prednisone)! I am so ready to be on the other side of the loser's bench! I can say though that although I'm ravenous on the prednisone - I've done pretty good at keeping myself under control. So that's a win! -
Hair loss - can anyone suggest supplements?

@@jadec86 It's common with any weight loss surgery. -
Give up on goal weight?
KristenLe replied to Rebecca Friesen's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
BMI is not a great number to go by. I wouldn't stress about being "overweight" according to that. Congrats on your great success! -
I would not suggest cream of wheat if you aren't tolerating liquids. Try broth or add flavors to your Water (non caloric), Vitamin water zero, sugar free popsicles.
-
I'm most likely going to tell people (if they ask) because I'm sure it will be figured out and I don't want people to catch me in a lie. I don't really care what anyone thinks - they will find a way to talk about you anyway.

August Bypass Buddies!
KristenLe replied to Pink Ninja's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your insurance should have been able to tell you your responsibility. I find they are getting lazier all the time! We pay alot of $ and get horrible service. So annoying! I hope your surgery goes flawlessly! -
Thanks for sharing! I'm going to try this!

Will it get better
KristenLe replied to divaglam19's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@divaglam19 It was from the sugar. Take a deep breath... stick to your plan and things will get better. Remember why you had surgery! You can get through these challenges. -
