Antidepressants post RNY....do I need a different prescription ?
KristenLe replied to gina171's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@gina171 I was told they will go over my meds at my pre-op appointment. I believe they may need to change the extended release. I'm on it too so I'm hoping to find out soon. -
It could be caffeine withdrawal, dehydration or just a reaction to low carb diet. It should improve - stay strong and get plenty of fluids!

Clothes shopping before surgery
KristenLe replied to Typhanie85's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would caution against this. You may skip sizes, your body may change shape, etc. It could be a waste of $ - unless they are incredibly cheap. -
Still stalled - and hungry. Where's the magic weight loss i was promised?
KristenLe replied to Seastars's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@@Seastars Hummus should not have alot of carbs. Try things like tuna (with mayo and could add avocado), chicken salad, egg salad. I would also add some veggies to your diet (be sure to eat protein first). Good carbs should be part of your diet. Beans are a great source of protein and fiber. Don't rule them out as high carb (and the reason you got obese pre-surgery). -
August Bypass Buddies!
KristenLe replied to Pink Ninja's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Have you gotten things squared away for tomorrow???? I feel guilty getting ready for my surgery when we were in this together. Please let us know what your status is??? I wish you so much luck!! Sent from my K010 using the BariatricPal App I called the hospital at 3 and they told me to be there at 11am and my surgery is scheduled for 1pm so as of now..I'm showing up! Don't feel guilty, enjoy! If I don't get on here tomorrow, I wish you the best of luck as well! I hope your surgery goes very well and I look forward to hearing about how great you feel! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Good luck! They will not cancel surgery at this point! They'd lose far more $ canceling then you could ever owe! Take a deep breath and enjoy the ride! -
Juice has too much sugar so avoid it. You can add flavors to water - crystal light, Mio drops, etc. Try broth, tea, sugar free popsicles, vitamin water zero. Be careful with crushing pills - not all formulas should be crushed (time release). Always check with surgeon or pharmacist before crushing. Hope you feel better soon!

I'd call daily! If you have any more issues - call the Manager. We wait long enough - there's no excuse for him to not send it immediately. -
@@Lema I suggest calling your Dr. They may want to run some labwork. Hope you feel better!

Do they make you sick? Have you tried different formulas (chewables, liquid)? You've done great so far - congrats!

Newly sleeved. Slow loss
KristenLe replied to Wendydarling19's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
10lbs in 2 weeks is a good loss! Don't get discouraged - stick with your plan - Protein, Fluids, Vitamins - the weight will come off. Stay strong! If you stay at this rate - you'd have lost 100lbs at 20 weeks (5 months)! That's not small potatoes! -
Stalls, gains...
KristenLe replied to triplethreat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@triplethreat It would have to be water. It's not possible for her to gain 2 lbs of fat in a day. It is most likely water retention (could have not had enough fluids, too much sodium, TOM, etc). -

Feeling defeated....
KristenLe replied to Express09's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You haven't lost at all or just recently stalled? If you are following your plan - you should be losing. Is there a possibility you are pregnant? If not - you could be in starvation mode and that is why you're having problems and not getting your period. -
@@evy17 The 6 months will help you prepare yourself emotionally. This is the time to get a handle on any issues such as emotional eating, learn how to eat properly, change some of your eating habits, etc. Good luck on your journey!

Can't get protein in
KristenLe replied to MarieLouise's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@MarieLouise It's bad. You need protein to heal and function. Find a liquid protein drink that you like, mix protein powder into a homemade shake or in yogurt. It's really important that you get the recommended amount. Hang in there.
