3 month post op, results... please share
KristenLe replied to jccanada's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@jccanada There's a very noticeable difference. Just look at the side picture - absolutely a big difference. Congrats! I hope to lose that much in only 3 months! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -
At what point did you buy new clothes
KristenLe replied to IveGotThePower's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I know a lot of people get in between clothes at consignment or thrift stores. I wouldn't spend a lot before you stop losing. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App -
@@fsulady Please read the comments directed at the OP. No one made her feel ignorant for asking the question. Not one person insulted her. They all offered alternatives. I'm not sure what you read that was negative and "horrible" towards the OP but I think you're judging people unfairly. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

Curiosity, Please help
KristenLe replied to Gordita81's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Gordita81 I'm going out of my mind too! And to top it off - I keep getting sick (pinched nerve, GI infection) and I keep thinking surgery will never happen. I have some pre-op tests tomorrow but then I don't see my surgeon until 9/14/16. I'm going to see about moving that up so I can be scheduled in September. -
@@Dub Cheez-Its are my enemy too! :-)
-
@@Candygyrl I honestly don't think anyone was condemning her - just giving her healthier alternatives and suggestions. On a forum where the majority of us had 100+ lbs to lose (some still do) - no one should be encouraging cheeze-its as part of a post-op diet (especially for someone who is unable to consume more than 300 calories now). I would have suggested to skip the boring saltines too!

@@LizHobbs It probably won't take 7 to 10 days for approval - so just stay positive! Your PCP should be able to see you for a sick visit within 24 hours - that's typically what they contract with insurance to provide to patients. The 19th is not acceptable. You may want to call your surgeon's office and ask what they recommend you do about the bronchitis. Depending on where you live, you could go to an Urgent Care or a walk-in. It is highly doubtful they will operate if you still have a respiratory infection. Talk to the nurse at your surgeon's office and see what they can do to help. Stay strong!!!

Just had my pre-op "hosptial" appt surgeon & Anesthesia
KristenLe replied to trekker954's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Surgery is their bread and butter - they're usually on time. Surgery will probably be at 7:30 or 8. Good luck! -
@@Lexigurl82 You take time for yourself and your daughter! The best thing you can do is make sure your daughter understands that she should never allow anyone to treat her with disrespect or be abusive in any way. I highly recommend therapy (you may want to see if your daughter would like to go to someone too). Prayers...

How do people lose 40 lbs in a month?!
KristenLe replied to Mjohnson4631's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@applejenn I hope you told those people to screw! That's nearly 20 lbs a month - that's excellent! -
BP has become more and more annoying and not at all informative, educational or supportive!

Hey now.....you cannot leave. I know it is frustrating and seems to be getting more frustrating daily but there are a lot of people who need help and you give excellent advice! We would miss you!

I'm so frustrated!
KristenLe replied to mercedes620's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
What weight did you start at?How far out are you? How much have you lost? How much Protein are you getting? How about fluids? Bariatric Surgery does work - you need to follow your plan. The weight comes off. You may have unrealistic expectations of how fast - but if you use the tools given to you - you'll lose. -
Congrats!!!
-
@@charley27 If you are only getting about 300 calories (which I assume you aren't getting much protein either) - you need to find options with a high nutritional value. Filling up on crackers of any kind is not a good idea. If you're not able to eat enough protein - please supplement with a shake until you can. Protein is extremely important. Only eating 300 calories will damage your metabolism permanently.

Surgery in Mexico
KristenLe replied to robs_vsg_journey's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only thing that I would caution about this is insurance may not cover any follow up or complications. Hopefully there aren't any complications but you definitely need to keep that in mind. -
Are you constipated? How are you doing on fluids?

When people tell you you're taking the easy way out......
KristenLe replied to ALittleMe0914's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Medically assisted weight loss - obesity is a disease just like diabetes, hypertension, addiction, etc. If you were unable to have children, would your brother suggest fertility treatment was the easy way out. It is less than a 5% likelihood that you can maintain a weight loss without surgery. WLS is a tool to help fight obesity. I hope your brother supports you eventually. -

@@Sophie74656 I know it's easier said than done but - forget him! He was as bad for you as being obese! If he cheated on his wife - he'll cheat on a girlfriend! I don't think he goes after woman for their looks - he needs a doormat that he can control. Sadly, that's often obese woman who don't believe they deserve better. You are so much better off without him! I hope you truly know that!
