    Scared

Your weight is at a dangerous level. Unfortunately, it's very unlikely you will be able to lose weight on your own. Only 5% who do lose weight on their own keep it off. Not good stats! Try writing a list of all the things you want to do after weight loss (ride a rollercoaster, wear a sexy dress, play with your children/grandchildren, better sex, fit into a great pair of jeans, kayaking, skiing, being around to see a child marry, etc) and frequently review it to remind you of why you're having surgery. Therapy is also a good idea pre-op and post-op! Good luck! Stay strong!
  2. @@pdallariva I would speak to your surgeon to get clearance especially since you are getting very little nutrients and calories.

    Pre-op 2 Week Liquid Diet

Practice how you'll be eating too (small plates, eat slow, don't eat in front of TV, eat 5-6 times a day (small amounts) every 3 hrs, don't snack or graze. You can also start preparing mentally. That's the toughest part. Here's a good article. I also went to a few therapy sessions to learn to deal with emotional eating / cravings. You can do this!!! http://www.helpguide.org/articles/diet-weight-loss/emotional-eating.htm

    Pre-op 2 Week Liquid Diet

Instead of trying the liquid diet (which the goal is to shrink your liver for surgery) - why don't you eat how you will need to post-op (once healed). Do a high Protein, low carb diet. No Cookies, soda, Pasta, etc. That will better prepare you for living with your sleeve and it's healthy. With the liquid diet - every time you have carbs/sugars - your body goes back to square one. It's like detoxing every day. I think if you start to eliminate carbs now - but eat healthy (not just liquids) you'll be in great shape and ready to handle the 2 week pre-op. There's no need to torture yourself by doing only liquids now. Good luck!

    Motivation

@@prairieprincess Are you taking something for the low Iron? That certainly could make you tired and unmotivated to exercise. I can't seem to get myself moving - especially in the heat we've been having. It's not easy. Why don't you put on some good music and dance? Have your own little Zumba class! :-).

    Pain

I'm surprised you were able to take an NSAID that soon after surgery.
  7. Talk to your surgeon. Most likely you will need to stop it at least 30 days before surgery but confirm.

    Hair loss

It's very common. Not much you can do to prevent it. It will grow back.

    Life changes, and nerves?!

Explain to her that only 5% of obese people who lose weight on their own are able to keep it off. With PCOS, it is extremely hard to even lose. Without surgery, it may be difficult for you to have children if you want them. Your health is more important than her approval. Hopefully she'll come around and support you.

    Left-sided abdominal pain

I would call your surgeon. It could be just pulled muscles but could also be something more serious. Are you getting enough fluids? It could be dehydration effecting your kidneys.

What type of material skirts are you looking for? Lane Bryant actually had some beautiful skirts this season.

    I'm engaged!

    Gorgeous ring!!! Congrats!
  15. @@EP8 Doing high intensity workouts require you to get all of your protein or more every day. Be sure to be getting plenty of fluids too.

    Deal breaker.

Hey @@theantichick How are you doing??
  18. Oh my - scary! Thank God you had the surgery!
  19. @@Hiraeth That sucks! I know it's difficult living paycheck to paycheck. Do you have a Costco or BJs wholesale club near you? They have good prices on premier protein drinks. Grab some refried beans, canned tuna, cheese, eggs, etc. Buy a chicken to boil to make your own broth (has more protein) and then purer the chicken meat and make some different meals with that. Good luck.

    Mixed Emotions

The risks are very similar. I am hoping to get the sleeve and would also be disappointed if I need Bypass instead BUT I'd do it - the risk of contuining at my weight and health issues are far greater than any surgery.
  21. @@ppressey24 That's scary to me (pre-op). Did she follow the plan? How could she not lose any weight - that makes no sense.

    Weight loss

@@Tonya83 You may have to replace a meal or two with a meal replacement/protein shake. I would eliminate all simple carbs. No pasta, bread, rice, etc. No soda (diet or regular). Drink lots of non caloric drinks. @ has a good plan too - try it and see if you lose anything. Track your food. If the dietician wants you to lose weight then she should help you - not thru scare tactics! Ask your surgeon if you will be denied if you don't lose weight.

    Eating out on stage 3

If you have any influence where to go - I'd skip the buffet. You could have a baked potato or mashed potatoes, soup (and only have the broth), baked white fish (mashed up).
