    Prepared for new life?

@ The complications you described are extreme. You don't know the history of those people or if they followed the plan. Your chance of developing significant obesity related disease is high. If you don't lose weight now - you most likely will have hypertension, possibly diabetes, be at risk for a stroke or heart attack, develop joint pain or degenerative disc disease. You have done your research and know what you have to do. You've chosen an excellent surgeon. Stay off Web MD and the negative threads on here.

    Is this normal!?

It's normal to make noises. Some say it sounds like a washing machine. ????. Stay hydrated and take a PPI.

    NEW ON HERE !

Write a list of all the great things you want to do after losing weight...ride a roller coaster, go kayaking, paddle boarding, wear high heels, a sexy dress, better sex life, play with your kids/grandkids, run a 5k, get off diabetes meds, etc. You can do this! Stay strong!
  6. You need to be sure to drink throughout the day. Sip all day to stay hydrated. Walk/move often to reduce risk of blood clots and rest the rest of time! Congrats on being on the Loser's Bench!

    Pre-Op Weight Gain?!?!

I think if you had a net loss you will be okay. 17lbs that first month was a huge amount! Good luck!

    Drinking too much water

There's a problem if you are drinking 8 cups of water a day (assuming 8oz cups or larger) and only peeing once a day.

@@laney I don't think there is anything to worry about. Sometimes when dehydrated they recommend sodium.

@@silverwhitemoon You are 2 months post-op but already know you will have reflux forever? Hmmm...too bad you didn't have that future prediction ability prior to surgery!

Post op regrets topics - not popular

Anyone who got major surgery for weight loss and expected to eat anything a few months post-op clearly had their heads up their asses! I'm sorry but I'm sick of the whining and bitching about what you can't eat! You were obese because you ate whatever you wanted! As you should have known before having surgery - the sleeve is just a tool - you have to do the work! If people don't realize that before surgery - that's all on them! You should know the risks too! The risks that are far less than if you remain obese by the way!!!

    Update and Picturessss! :D

@@Ladystorm Are you getting enough fluids and Protein?? Are you on any meds that might need adjusting (diabetes, hypertension)? Are you taking Vitamins? Call your surgeon - it's normal to be tired after major surgery but it seems you aren't just tired if you can't get out of bed.

    Horrible

@@slusher1006 Just focus on liquids right now - don't worry about eating anything yet. Drink lots of fluids including protein shakes or drinks. Good luck. I would still suggest calling your surgeon today.

    Shots?

@@fhay We were told in a group meeting that everyone has to do blood thinner injections post op.
  15. It's imperative you get enough fluids and protein whether you feel like drinking or not. You will end up dehydrated (can happen quickly) and be hospitalized. Constantly sip - Protein shakes, Protein drinks (Isopure, Atkins Lift, Syntax), Water, tea, crystal light, Powerade Zero, Vitamin Water Zero, sugar free popsicles, broth. You have to drink - set a timer to remind yourself. It's imperative you get enough fluids and protein whether you feel like drinking or not. Post op regrets topics - not popular

I believe in a pre-op post you indicated you were 90% incapacitated and homebound because of your illnesses. You also said you knew the risks but it was worth it. You were also encouraged to go to the hospital right after surgery when you were experiencing complications and you didn't feel like waiting there all day. You didn't follow up with problems you were having but now blame the care you received and the infection control at the hospital. I honestly can't believe this thread is still active. We all know you regret surgery and are miserable but please stop blaming your surgeon, NHS or suggesting those of us who have surgery could have lost weight on our own.

    No energy, five days out

My plan suggest 2-4ozs sipped over an hour - every hour. At 5 days out - continually sip fluids. It sounds as though you are probably dehydrated - a hot shower can make that worse. Try something with electrolytes and broth too. Good luck!
  18. @@LizHobbs This original post is several years old. You will get more replies in a new post. All diets tend to be different. It depends on what you are allowed by your program. Did they give you guidelines? If not - I would call them to find out - I'd hate for them to cancel your surgery if you eat something you aren't supposed to.
  19. KristenLe

    Horrible

Call your surgeon. They may need to do an endoscopy. In the meantime, try taking a PPI to reduce stomach acid. Then sip liquids at different temps to see if you tolerate one better. Try tea, broth, sugar free popsicles, flavored water, Powerade Zero. Feel better soon!

    water & proteins

You're not a failure. Find protein drinks you like - it will get you protein and fluids up. There's Isopure , Atkins Lift, Unjury. Add unflavored protein to broth or crystal light. Have sugar free popsicles for more fluids. You need to get better at both protein and water or you'll end up back in the hospital. It's not easy but you can do it!!! Stay strong!

    2days post op Zero energy

Get in fluids - walk to reduce chance of blood clots and rest! Your body just went through major surgery - you are going to be exhausted.
