    Trouble sleeping...

Please be careful with what you are eating. Nuts can cause significant complications. You usually aren't allowed nuts or seeds for 6-8 weeks.

    What's next?

It depends - my Program doesn't order any pre-op testing until approval for surgery is received. After my approval - I had to get an Upper GI study, EKG, lab work etc. I then meet with surgeon for pre-op appt and schedule surgery. Then I have to attend a pre-op class and have further pre-op testing the week of surgery. My Program is new at the location I go to and everything has been delayed while they work on the process. I've been somewhat of a guinea pig. My insurance approved late June and I don't have pre-op appt with surgeon until 9/14. ????

    Weight Stall

@@angeliquita You are 3 months post-op and have lost 61 lbs. That's hardly a failure!!! There's no reason if you stick with the plan that you won't keep losing and meet your goal.

When do you delete your online dating profile?

Don't freak out. You've only been seeing him for a month - it will not be good to confront him about this from an accusatory stance. Ask him casually if he's dating anyone else and see what he says. Even if he is - again it's only been a month - give the relationship time to grow. If you expect him to only date you (which I completely understand) then ask him if he's willing to do that. If not - decide if you can handle that for the time being. He may not realize you want to be exclusive. You have to talk to him.
  7. It will come off - have faith!
  8. @@losergrl75 I have to laugh at you not thinking there wasn't much of a difference! We really don't see ourselves as we really look! You look incredible! Congrats!
  9. That's extremely common. You are pumped with tons of fluids, you're swollen and are recovering from a major surgery. It's not at all unusual to gain weight after surgery. You need to stick with your plan and don't weigh yourself.

    Juicing? ?

@@SleeveG I don't understand the post-op diets that don't allow protein supplements right away. Makes no sense to me. I go to a very reputable center of excellence and they tell me I have to drink protein shakes in the hospital.
  11. Are you drinking protein shakes - maybe it's lactose??

    Decision

The same happened with me and solidified my decision. I was holding my newborn great-niece and had to ask her Mom not to post it on social media. I could not believe how GIANT I was!

    I hate blood tests!

Was the phlebotomist's name Dracula? OMG - that's brutal. Bad veins or not - they shouldn't look that bad.
  14. Can you have vegetable juice like V8? You could add it to that. There's also Unjury Chicken Soup that folks seem to like.

    When does hair loss begin?

I'm just going to roll with it - I can't stress about what might happen. Stress can't help the matter any!
  17. Hormones can cause mood swings. Explain that to your husband and make sure he gives you a little slack for any bitchiness directed at him. Give him slack for getting annoyed with your moods. Hormones can also cause your libido to go through the roof - so be sure he knows of the positive aspects of this all too. I didn't like my support groups either - so Im not sure attending one with you will be helpful.
  18. @@slusher1006 Do you take any allergy meds? I take Zyrtec every night and have alot less post nasal drip. You may want to look into whether or not you have a food allergy causing this.
  19. @@frozengrapes Good luck! Go prepared with whatever you need to eat/drink. Remember to stay hydrated. If anyone asks what kind of surgery - tell them you had a sex change - maybe they'll learn to respect privacy!

Everyone tells me I'm tooo young, opinions?

@@dhrguru Regarding #2 -That's all well and good IF you can actually get pregnant. Many of us fighting obesity are also fighting PCOS and infertility and aren't likely to have children UNLESS we lose weight through WLS. If you want children - your best chance is to have surgery when you are younger. I certainly wish I had it many years ago.
  21. We are told caffeine can interfere with calcium and some Vitamin absorption. It can also cause ulcers. Our plan recommends staying away from caffeine but decaf coffee is fine. I am sure alot of people continue to have caffeine though. Just be careful with staying hydrated post-op (if you have caffeine - you should increase decaffeinated liquids to make up for it.
  22. You can have any non caloric drink - Powerade Zero, Vitamin Water Zero, Crystal Light, MiO drops, infused water, broth, sugar free popsicles. Be sure to stay hydrated!

    3wks out tacos?

@@sc101071 I'm fairly certain taco shells aren't on there. Taco shells could cause complications. Many plans are different and we should be following our own plans or questioning changes with our own surgeon. Depending on what your idea of a taco - I would not be allowed lettuce or tomato at 3 weeks. I would only be allowed pureed meat, melted cheese and sour cream. So my answer would be - no I can't have tacos.
