  2. I meet with the surgeon for the last time before surgery. I'm assuming he'll review my results from pre-op tests and hopefully give the OK to schedule. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    Pre-Op diet

Try having broth if it's allowed. Make your own, add spices to pre-made or strain Soup - it'll taste better. Hang in there!
  8. I was scared too! So far everything has been fine! I have my pre-op appt with the surgeon Wed and hope this get a date! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    The scary thing...

The mortality rate during surgery is extremely low! The anesthesiologist will do everything possible to ensure you're OK during surgery. They are experienced in anesthetizing morbidly obese people for WLS. They will take the necessary precautions. You may need to have a sleep study and cardiac clearance but that's not unusual. Talk to your surgeon about your fears. They can give you some statistics. I believe you won't hear the same scare tactic speech that you did previously. Good luck! Chicken for lunches

I usually buy them made too! ????. They were 99¢ a pound and I had nothing else to do (or that I wanted to do)!
  11. I'm glad you are cancer-free! Please be sure to check whether you have sleep apnea before surgery as that could be dangerous while under anesthesia. Also - sometimes reflux can worsen with the sleeve and require a revision to Bypass so be sure you have talked to the surgeon about that and make the right decision on what surgery to have. Best of luck!

I don't even know what to eat

"@@mrs w" Congrats! Talk to your OBGYN and ask for a referral to a nutritionist. It's important that they help you to come up with a plan to provide adequate nutrition for you and the baby. Don't stress about gaining weight - you can get back on track after a healthy pregnancy! Good luck with everything!!!
  14. @@shirl123 Every program seems to have different requirements. Do you need pulmonary or cardiac clearance, sleep study, etc?
  15. You just need to be careful with certain protein bars - many have added sugars. How about cheese, greek yogurt, adding protein powder to liquids or food, etc.

Damn hormones!!! ???????? Just think - you must be burning fat and losing weight with all those hormones flowing! Hang in there!!!

I have GOT to get back on track

@@madisunshine1 Don't waste the opportunity to get healthy! Try writing a list of all the things you want to do once you've lost weight (ski, kayak, travel, wear sexy dress and heels, improved sex life, run a 5k, ride a rollercoaster, etc) and every time you have a temptation to eat junk - look at all the reasons you need to say NO! Stay strong - you can do this!!!
  18. @@bostonmama Same here! Hoping to get a date at my pre-op appt on Wed. You should give them a call tomorrow!

Before/After Pics RNY 14 Months Out

Keep taking pictures and compare to before - you look great!!!
  22. What can you eat? Fill up on lean protein and veggies (don't know why that's not allowed at this stage). Once you get through the first few days with no sugar - the cravings will reduce. I found therapy to be very helpful to deal with emotional eating and head hunger.

    Considering surgery

WW should have records. Do you have your weight tracking books? I wouldn't worry too much - especially if you have discussed weight loss with your PCP. I didn't have to show actual proof.
  24. Soup is mostly liquid. Be careful of the rice though - I'm not allowed that on my plan because it expands in your stomach. It can also get caught in suture line early out. Too many carbs too (not that there was very much in what you are).
  25. KristenLe

    Salsa

Look for no carb or very low carb tortillas or wraps and make your own chips. WW had a recipe.
