@@eriirosee What is allowed on your pre-op diet - and for how long do you have to do it? Everyone's tends to be different. For example - I don't have a prescribed pre-op diet - just Clear liquids 24 hours in advance. Congrats on your date - hope to be getting mine today!

My last appointment
KristenLe replied to kitkattulsa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@kitkattulsa Did they say anything? If they do - ask them to re-weigh you on the other scale (take off everything possible without being arrested for indecent exposure! LMAO). -
Looks like I've got some more work to do....

@ BTW - you should still feel damn good about yourself - you've done amazing!!! -

KristenLe replied to kitkattulsa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@kitkattulsa Try not to worry - I can't imagine that 1.5 lbs (if you truly gained) will derail your surgery. Good luck - keep us posted! -
Approved but can't get surgery date!
KristenLe replied to simpsongrad's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@simpsongrad Why is he transferring patients to another surgeon? When will they have an answer for you? Will your authorization be applicable to the new surgeon or do you have to go thru that again? I don't blame you for being upset. -
We start puree on day 8 too.

Are you increasing your protein and fluid since working out?

Weight gain one month post op on 700 calories
KristenLe replied to Amurillo04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You lost an incredible amount in the first 3 weeks - that is not a failure by any means! You are probably retaining water - are you due for your period? Constipated? Be sure to meet your protein and water goals and stay strong! -
Please I need encouragement
KristenLe replied to tenseintexas's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@tenseintexas Just think - 18 lbs in 3 weeks - that's an incredible loss! When have you ever done that before - and managed to keep it off?? Your body needs time to adjust. Just stick with your plan - meet your Protein and Water goals and the weight will come off again! Measure yourself and watch your body changing - even though the scale might not be moving right now!!! Stay strong!!! -
I just need some motivation
KristenLe replied to rhaya sunshine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hormones are probably playing a part in how you are feeling! Follow your plan - if you do that you can't do it wrong! Don't pay attention to the scale right now - you are swollen and were pumped with fluids - the weight WILL come off! Stay strong! -
Pre Op Nutrition Class - What to expect
KristenLe replied to ella37's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think the class might be a group (it is at my practice). I haven't been but they told me they'll review the post-op diet again and any pre-op diet requirements. -
Wow - I would be freaking out too! I've got so much cleaning to do before surgery so I'd be screwed. Lol

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
KristenLe replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Put the scale away for now. It's very common to gain weight after surgery as you are swollen and pumped with fluids. Just stick with your plan. -
Try @@LipstickLady 's suggestion of Listerine strips! Remember the goal - you can do it!

Am I being too sensitive?
KristenLe replied to Frenchie1977's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Frenchie1977 You're not being too sensitive! Sounds like your Mom is a pain in the butt (many are! LOL). I'm not sure how you're going to make out dealing with her comments post-op though - that's going to be rough! She'll be watching everything you put in your mouth (or don't). I can't imagine going through this under my mother's nose. Good luck! -

@@BetterOffRed If you follow the surgeon's instructions - you should be fine! :-) It's about going into ketosis. Many have different diets - some are all liquids, some have a combination and if you're lucky - some don't have them at all. If you can eat food - just low carb - you should have an easier time (once you get over the carb detox). Good luck!

@@twinklestar2276 It depends on your plan. I would be careful with the seeds if you decide to eat them. They do sell pickle juice posicles that might satisfy your craving and they're great for hydration! :-) https://www.amazon.com/Bobs-Pickle-Sport-Package-total/dp/B001WAVUC4

Looks like I've got some more work to do....
KristenLe replied to DeletedMember's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
@ This is very cool - I hope to have one of these scans at some point. What's an idea fat % for a male? Does it tell you if you need to lose pounds or rather turn the fat into muscle to change the ratio? -
September 2016 Sleevers!
KristenLe replied to ALittleMe0914's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Gerri918 You have to be very careful not to have carbs during the pre-op diet. The purpose is to put you into ketosis so that you burn fat from your liver - it's not only about losing weight. Stay strong and stick with your diet - I've seen people have surgery cancelled (that day) because their liver was still too large. -
@@baribabe72 My surgeon had me go through the psych eval, nutrition and 6 months of supervised diet to get the authorization - once that was approved - that's when they ordered the required testing. Be sure to get written guidelines from UMR as to what the requirements are and speak to the insurance coordinator at your surgeon's office to ensure you are meeting all of them and documenting that properly.
