    Halloween fever

I just opened the bag of snickers to hand out and the smell was incredible! I just about drooled - and I'm not even a candy person.
  2. I had 2 weeks liquid diet and didn't have anything not on plan. It sucked but my goal was to beat head hunger and cravings prior to surgery.

    Will I be broken forever?

Lol...I hadn't updated it until my post-op appointment weight. The first weight entered was from my 1st Consult so I figured I'd go by same scale. :-).

    Finally seeing it!

    Wow - 2 months??? That's unbelievable!!! Congrats!

    Will I be broken forever?

This is exactly how i feel. Im so regreting this surgery..i have so many cramps..they come strong for 5 seconds then they are gone. I feel week. This, pain has woke me up. Its 430am. I cant sleep. My husband is sleeping next to me. Should i wake him up because im in pain? Is it,gas? Is my sleeve? How do i know that? I was sleeve 10.26.16Im confused. Sent from my SM-G920T1 using the BariatricPal App @@Daniella5 Talk to your surgeon about the pain. There may be something they can give you to help. Be sure to move alot - walk, rock back and forth just sitting, swing your arms around, etc. Also - take it easy - don't lift anything, do dishes, clean, etc. You had major surgery and need to rest. Be sure to stay hydrated. That's most important. Hang in there!

Pain when eating anything , sleeved 10/24

I have enjoyed iced tea since Day 5. It's my Go-To beverage. I can drink water but only with lemon.
  7. It's common to stall but you definitely have to increase fluids to lose.
  8. It depends what is on your plan right now. You can mix Protein powder with greek yogurt, sf pudding, Soup (not too hot), mashed potatoes (if allowed), etc. I'm on mushy foods and added it to roasted butternut squash (puree). I'm allowed veggies and fruit on my plan - but it's not as low carb as some want to be.

    Halloween fever

@@christinah Wouldn't even consider it! I have a huge bag of mini snickers and other candy waiting for Trick or Treaters - even though we usually get less than 10 kids. I was never a candy person anyway - but at 2 weeks post-op - I have no interest at all.
  10. @@wantenergy83 Keep reminding yourself that you can't take care of yourself or your children with the health issues that come along with obesity and by taking this time for yourself - you'll be in a better place to take care of your children. You deserve to be able to get healthy and have someone take care of you for a short time. Be thankful that you have someone able to help you during this time - this is for your future - and your family's future!!! Stay strong!!!

5 days out and it isn't good

@@TiredOfMyself Don't worry about food at this point. Get in your fluids - that's most important and will make you feel much better. Try different temps to see if one is better than the other. Hot tea or broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free Jello, Powerade Zero, Vitamin Water Zero, Crystal Light, Iced Tea, etc. Keep walking and moving around - even as you're sitting down - rock back and forth, move your arms dramatically when walking, march in place, etc. I stood up to drink - it seemed to help it go down. Take very small sips but just keep sipping. If you have problems with something - find another liquid to try. There's so many possibilities - you don't have to stick with only drinking plain water (unless that's what you want). Getting enough fluids is critical right now. Stay strong!!! It'll get better - I promise!!!

    2 weeks out !

@@megnun21 I'll be 2 weeks out tomorrow. I'm not even bothering tracking weight loss at this point - we had a lot of swelling and Water retention from the IVs and weight can fluctuate up and down drastically during this time. Concentrate on getting plenty of fluids (at least 64 ozs) and meeting your Protein goals. Don't restrict foods - eat as your plan suggests! There's no way to compare your progress with anyone else. We all lose at different rates - and have different amounts to lose. Just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing - the weight will come off. It's not a race.

    Protein shakes.

@@vannababyy22 What are you allowed on your food stage at this point? I couldn't handle Protein shakes anymore either and once cleared for purees - I bought unflavored Protein powder and I'm adding it to my food. I bought GENEPRO but there are others out there too.

    Will I be broken forever?

@@kjkashmaniac Tomorrow - get out and get some fresh air. Walk your dog! Let the endorphins kick the hormones down. You need to concentrate on fluids for now. Make sure you are taking a PPI and anti-nausea meds. Try drinking hot tea or broth. You will feel better. Stay strong!

    BEST protien shake option

    Yup...weird! Lol
  16. @@ella37 I would stay hydrated and away from food until you feel better.

    Regular weight loss or not?

100lbs in 10 months is incredible! You need to do the work - not your sleeve! If you are disappointed - then do something to keep losing. You still have your sleeve as a tool.

    VSG Post Op Day 5

That's very common. It's where they removed your stomach from - alot of muscles and nerves were disturbed.

    VSG Post Op Day 5

I think Day 5 is too soon for food. Take it slow.

    Genepro Unflavored Protein

I'm glad to get any protein from it - even if it's not 30 gms. I've done horrible with protein since I had surgery. I've been lucky to get 30-40 gms all day.

    Soft food

@@markiealex I'm on mushy foods and have been experimenting. My favorite so far was Mexican Dip - brown hamburger in frying pan, add can of beans and packet of Chili mix. In bottom of pan - slightly melt cream cheese and spread. Add cooked hamburg mixture and top with Mexican cheese (shredded). Bake at 350 for about 30 mins until bubbling. I ate right off spoon. I also made meatballs (without bread crumbs) and heated up with beef gravy. I'm going to make an Italian bake with broken up meatball too. I have cottage cheese and a little bit of All Fruit for breakfast. I tried egg salad. I will try ham salad, seafood salad, chicken salad and tuna at some point.
  22. How about tea - I bought a fee flavors and enjoyed that post-op. I made my own broth for pre-op (didn't want it post-op). I bought a few Blender Bottles that were great for shakes.

4 Weeks out with sleeve pain

Call the oncall # - that doesn't seem "normal".
  24. KristenLe

    Which surgery?

That's a significant amount to lose - I don't think your surgeon will recommend the lapband. I would recommend Sleeve or RNY. Good luck!
  25. @@Ssze1109 It's normal to be nervous. There's so much going through your mind. Just remember why you're doing this! A sensible dinner is a lean meat and veggies or salad. Don't over think it. I made my own broth just by boiling carrots, celery and onion in box/can broth. Add salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder - makes a big difference. I drank Powerade Zero post-op. I also bought a few kinds of tea. I'm 12 days post-op and so glad I did this. The first few days suck - but it's worth it! Stay strong!
