    Costs resulting from WLS

It's great for the buyer - not so much for the seller! I sent in 20 items - I got paid $21.00 for all of them - they then listed them all for $15-30. Not worth it - I'd much rater donate them.

    My NUT is a nut

Guidelines are what reduces complications including possible death! This isn't a trial and error kind of thing (for several weeks anyway). Eat steak - what's the worst case scenario?? Umm...blockage, leak, infection, death, failure...

    Liquid diet

@@Asm0108 Are you drinking Protein shakes as part of your diet? They can cause constipation. You could also be getting your period - which is common (unfortunately). How are you feeling now?

  6. @@Bogarka You should not still be experiencing incision pain from that long ago. I wonder if there was a nerve issue. I would definitely follow up with the Dr.

    Got approval today

@@fancypants11578 It's all scary - but remember the goal! It's more likely to die from obesity than from surgery! Follow your surgeon's pre-op and post-op instructions and we give ourselves a better chance for no complications! Congrats on the approval!!! I'm scheduled for October 18th and very anxious too! I know this is what I need! Stay strong!

@@Corey A Duplantis Vitamins make me nauseous pre-op. Call your surgeon to see if there's anything you can do - get some meds if you don't already have them.

    Costs resulting from WLS

@@HuneComz I just paid $140 for my Protein powder for 2 week pre-op diet. Although that seems like a lot - I realized that I spend at least that (more like $200) every weekend going out to eat. So - 2 weekends without going out to eat - I'm saving $$$. Sell some of your clothes at a consignment shop or online (don't use ThredUp) and buy clothes at thrift or consignment stores (or online). You'll probably spend less than you would otherwise. I've spent thousands in medical expenses this past year (and last year as well) - most due to my obesity. With expenses from surgery will also come savings!

    Scared of being denied....

@@blue8eyes Don't worry about other's requirements that you read on the forum! There are many different insurances, different plans within that insurance, etc. Your surgeon's office are experts at this and you should feel confident that there will be no issues. Many BCBS plans have removed the 6 month supervised diet requirement. I didn't have one due to my BMI (only time being super fat helped me! lol). Stay positive!!!

    Weight gain 5 weeks out

@@twinklestar2276 Are you meeting your Protein and Fluid goals? I'm sure it's just Water weight - it would be near impossible to eat enough to gain fat. You may be constipated, getting your period, etc. You need to make sure to get enough protein and fluids (non caloric) and the weight will go down. Hang in there! I am pre-op - had to stop by birth control pills and have gained 7 lbs in 4 days (with my period and water retention).
  14. @@ludyborgella You have to meet your Protein and Fluid goals or weight loss and healing will be an issue. If you can't eat - stay with liquids including protein shakes.

  18. Mine is for sleeve only - laparoscopic or open if necessary. We have had a few wrong surgeries done at our hospitals and they go over what surgery many times getting prepped for the OR. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
  19. Strange! What did your consent form say? Didn't they ask you 100 times prepping for the OR? The discharge papers have to be wrong. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    Considering sleeve

Thank you. Best of luck to you on your journey! After my first child I gained 80lbs and was able to lost 30 of it by taking phenteramine. He wants me to take that again, but I don't want that quick fix. I want to change my life. Now after having our 2nd child, I've gained it all back plus some. It is more than a fast fix for me but he doesn't see that. I will call around around see what needs to be done before hand. Thank you again! Sent from my SM-S920L using the BariatricPal App Explain to him that phenterrmine can be dangerous. Only 5% of people who lose weight on their own are able to maintain that loss! You want to be healthy and active for your children! It's your body - your health - your decision! Hopefully he can learn more about it and support you! Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

  23. @@kimberb They usually do a screening for possible sleep apnea. You probably didn't have any indication of having it. I didn't have an Endoscopy but I did have an Upper GI Series instead. I would be surprised if they didn't do some test.
