    Discouraged and drained.

I would call your insurance and see what exactly is required for documentation. Explain the situation. I would also ask them to look into claims submitted by your end as see what she coded as a diagnosis and visit code. If her records don't match what she billed - she could have issues. Have your surgeon's office call her.

    Cheated on Pre Op Diet

The purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver so surgery is safer. Surgeons will not hesitate to close you up without performing the surgery if your liver is too large. I would be concerned about how you will manage post-op life. Do you have a therapist you can talk to about this? Pre-op diets are a prescription - not just a suggestion. It's really important to stick with it. No carbs - you need to be in ketosis.
  3. You shouldn't have to pay anything for that program.

    October surgery

Don't lie using gallbladder unless you are actually getting it removed. That may come back to bite you! I would take sick time rather than vacation. If you were to have any complications at all - you may need more time off! Many employers require 30 days notice so I wouldn't wait. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
  6. I had opposite- insurance told me I had 6 months supervised diet requirement and surgeon's office found out I didn't. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    My journey!

Yes - 15lbs in 10 days starting at a lower bmi is excellent! It will probably slow a little- just get your Protein and fluids and stick with it. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App

    Ashamed

Don't let this asshole upset you or make you feel any shame! If we could lose weight and keep it off only by eating healthy and exercising - not one of us would go thru major surgery to lose weight! This guy doesn't know jackshit! This is your journey! Constant sick feeling

I'm pre-op but realized my Multivitamin was making me nauseous daily.
  10. It's very common. Your body is adjusting. Your weight can fluctuate. It could be water retention, your period, constipation... Be sure you are meeting protein and water goals and you will be fine!
  11. @ and @@kmorri I just read an article that high b6 and b12 could actually mean a deficiency. It might be bunk but worth looking into it. http://www.easy-immune-health.com/vitamin-b6-toxicity.html
  12. @@Kayla578 You won't want or need a big portion again! We will be able to enjoy the taste of food without mindlessly inhaling it. Remember all the great things you can do after weight loss! Stay strong!

    Day 1: Crazy Town

@@Nikkinee LOL - a banana of all things! Stay strong!
  14. You shouldn't need to measure liquids (popsicles and jello included). I was told not to even worry about calories at that point. Getting Protein and fluids were what's important. Are you allowed Protein shakes yet?

    Protein shake

I like Premier Protein the best. I really didn't like Muscle Milk. I have to use Bariatric Fusion for my pre-op (starts 10/4) and hoping it's not horrible!

    Is this normal?

I am also at day 5. Or 4, I'm not sure how to really count. I have a horrible bloated full cramping feeling - like gas pain but more moderate, yet still rough. I sure wish it would go away, it's hard to even get the Protein and liquid in! I sip sip sip but can't get enough. My tummy (more my esophagus) gurgles up what I'm guessing is trapped gas everytime, which does nothinf but make a teensy bit of room for the sip I took. I'm definitely in the regret phase. Are you taking anything for stomach acid (a PPI)? Be sure to walk to get rid of the gas! Try different temps of liquids to see if you tolerate any more than the other. Sometimes people are able to drink hot tea or ice cold Water better.

Nerves are getting out of control!

@@eriirosee I take Wellbuterin and Prozac (I'm pre-op too). I'm getting anxious but I don't think there's much that could make me back out. I just want it done and to be on the loser's bench!
  18. @@moppet I've done a lot of research on this and most people lose more strands than normal. I don't believe it comes out in clumps (for most anyway). I lose a lot of hair pre-op so I'm not sure how I will fair with hair loss after surgery. At 5 months out - you may be in the clear.

  21. @@jolomom I believe Claritin has one that melts in your mouth. I haven't found out exactly what to do about meds yet (I take Zyrtec every night) but I think once swelling goes down we'll be able to swallow smaller pills.

    Discouraged

@@jennabela If you're not getting enough fluids - that could definitely be a problem. Increase Protein and fluids and see what happens! You started at a low BMI compared to most of us - so your weight loss will be slower. Remember to think of it in terms of % of loss - you've lost 18.5% of your weight in 6 months. That's not a bad loss at all! Inches are definitely just as good as pounds! I bet if you increase protein and fluids you'll see the scale move again!!! Stay strong!!!
  23. KristenLe

    Discouraged

@@jennabela It's doubtful you are stuck where you are. Are you meeting your Protein and Fluid goals? Are you constipated, getting your period, etc.? Stalling is very normal.

    Pre weight loss no ambition

@@determined1LD What about swimming or Water exercise (easy on the knees)? You can probably lose without exercise however - by reducing calories - eating high Protein and low carb. Write a list of all the things you want to do when you lose weight (play with kids/grandkids, kayak, wear a sexy dress and heals, paddle board, etc.) and keep it where you can see it - that should help with some motivation! If you keep asking yourself "why bother?" (like I did) - then list all of the responses to that (my health, so I can improve my mobility / less pain, so I'll be around to see my children marry, graduate high school, etc.). Stay strong!!!!
